Am I the only one slightly disappointed by the new PES2012 demo?
It's a good demo don't get me wrong, It's by far the best PES on the next gen console. I just feel though the goalkeepers have not been improved from last year, the ball seems to beat the keeper to easily, tame shots spilled, ball under keepers body, etc..
I like the shooting, its good, not great but good and improved. AI seems like the have been TWEAKED ONLY A BIT. I can't help but notice how the AI seem to do stupid things, dribbling past defenders seems to easy now. I was able to dribble past 3 or 4 Inter defenders with Naismith.
It was hyped up so much before the demos were released, I just don't think its lived up to its expectation, which is a shame, because I really thought the demo would be amazing but its just another "Better than before" PES Game.

Hmmm, doesn't fill me with hope. I didn't like the last demo.

Unfortunately when you release a game every year this is what happens. legendary games take years to complete. Maybe Konami should take a year out and develop for the Xbox 720, and make a game that would blow us all away! ... But we all know this business is about money... FIFA, PES, COD churned out every year with little improvements but hyped up so we spend our money on them. Im sure it will be good, but I would be happy waiting 2 years for something amazing for the next console!

I'm not sure really, there are some things I really like about it, but also some things I hate about it which have been around for years. At the moment, I would give it a 6.5. Where I've been playing the FIFA demo, scoring on the PES demo just seems 100x more easier, I don't know if thats because its so much more harder to score on FIFA now or what but thats my opinion. You can still have alot of fun on PES but truthfully after about 4 games, I had to switch to FIFA

Doesnt sound great I really liked demo 1 when playing against a friend so it must be a little better than that! Demo 1 was better than FIFA 11 IMO.

Little improvements? They've changed keepers to an extent. They've added the player movement system, arguably the best thing added to a football game in a long time and which is a big addition. MLO is likely improved. Different speed to the game. Tweaked passing. Tweaked shooting. Many other tweaks. Overall there's not much more they can do right now, they've added big improvements this year, cant see why there's a need to complain.
Really? It's clearer than daylight that the keepers have been imrproved. There's no doubt they still need some work, but they've without a doubt been worked on and improved. Last year a keeper would spill a shot and collapse to the floor, now he can spill a shot from his hands but stays on his feet and it bounces out of his hands onto the ground but straight back into his safety, like real life when keepers take the sting out of a powerful shot. I also just had Gomez commit a realistic blunder, a 25 screaming from Bastien, the defender was blocking his sight and it came flying in and Gomez tried to get his legs to it but it still deflected into the goal...many people will moan if that happens, however it's a realistic mistake that happens in real football...now if it was happening every single game, different story, but these things need to be in the game for realism.
Also, the AI hasn't just been tweaked, it's had an overhaul. The AI system looks to be the best AI system in next gen console history (football wise). They finally pass, they finally shoot realistic, they score some crackers, they defend great, they're smart.
As for a rating on this demo, I'd say 9. It's the best football game I've played on the next gen consoles that's for sure and it's only a DEMO, so the actual game should be even better. And to be quite frank, I do like Fifa, but I had more fun in one Pro game than I did in 15 games on Fifa.
Yourvplaying a different game from me this game is better than pes 6 and as for FIFA played last night didntveven touch te ball for half of the 3 min half with the stupid ai not pressing the oppossition

I played a few games and I did notice some improvements but theres still alot of other things wrong with it
+ Keepers are a bit better but still not perfect
+ Ball speed ( Shooting/Crossing/Passing ball speed is faster, I played on speed 0 and it feels quite realistic, before the ball was way too slow. )
+ Player speed seems to have been toned down a tad, on 0 it feels a bit slower and it actually feels quite realistic overall, the player movement speed and ball speed has a good balance atm.

- Passing is still too assisted ( example: I want to pass to a teammate who is at the touchline and im at the middle and there is a player between, I can ramp up the passing power to full but I will still pass to the closest player even if the pass goes past him he will chase the ball instead of the ball going to the player behind him like I want and who would be a better target, wtf? )
- Players still have too good close control, players with 70 dribble acc. have such close touches when you run with full speed as Messi should have and what 95+ dribble acc. should have, this is way unrealistic and ruins everything, I mean whats the point if Vidic can go past 4 players, its unrealistic?
- Why can we shot fake only left right and forward, why not diagonal? whatever... its stupid but its not a big deal
- Speed merchant is so unrealistic even more than it was in 2011, the player moves like he had ice skates and glides left and right at what it seems even faster than if he would run straight, I mean pesstatsdatabase will remove all the speed merchants and I won't have them in game either but still, wtf?
- Idk if im the only one here but I just can't seem to notice big enough difference between defenders and attackers, its like they are so similar in stats even tho they are not.
In Pes 2011 you could clearly see the difference between a defender who has bad close control and technique and passing range and usually speed and here in 2012 it seems that someone with 70 or 80 stat in something is pretty much the same, its not noticable...
Theres still more issues but im quite bored to keep repeating miself, I just don't get why KONAMI can't fix such obvious stuff.

The 1st Demo was seriously poor and was clearly an incomplete game, with Defensive AI problems, crappy keepers and soft floaty shots.
The 2nd Demo is a huge improvement although there are still issues, dribbling past players does seem a little easy and the CPU opponent can do this too, having a half decent player tearing though Inter's defence seems a bit odd.
All in all though I have played 4 games now and I'm happy with it, I know there will be a few more tweaks before the final release, but I'm enjoying the games I have had. Players with speed like Bale and Lennon can open up some space after beating a man, none of that catch up crap that was in Pes 2011, which seems more realistic, the passing I feel I have more control of, although you do have to turn the assisted passing down to 0/5.

Can someone explain why Speed again matters SHIT in a football game? I can't even catch a slow attacker running through the flank if he has an advantage even if I sprint after him with Lennon, top speed means nothing at all?
Are you joking?!? You can score blindfolded and hands tied behind your back on FIFA, its sooooooooooooooo easy.
PES gives a much better challenge.
