Im just being realistic brah, obviously a perfect 10 is impossible, because you can never please everyone so the top grade possible is probably around 9, this demo here is about 5-5.5 , decent game with some improvements over 2011 but many flaws still remain and new ones emerged. I was expecting at least a 6.5 out of KONAMI this year, maybe it would be close to that if not for some obvious and annoying things such as close control/passing/speed etc... that seem to be WAY too good for pretty much every player and the bad thing about it is that its not bad stats on KONAMI's part but that they toned down the difference between someone with a 70 stat and someone with a 80, for example in some areas its pretty much impossible to see any difference in a raise of 10 in a certain stat, so even editing stats won't fix this problem.

I guess our rating systems are different LOL... 4 or 5 out of 10 to me is unplayable, I would rate 2008 like this.... for me 2011 was about a 7 becuase of its flaws of defenders catching up, AI cheating, scripting and also the bad shooting which felt very random. 2012 so far based on the WE demo from Japan which I played (havent played the new PES one) I would rate an 8, based on potential of what I've seen so far, but can't rate it until the final product is in my hands for over 1 month.

fifa is shite but how can you say you have perfect control in pes 2012? you can't push the ball a bit further away from ur feet if you want to cut into the defender's side ( apart from using R1+R2 which is automated and random direction ) due to everyone having Messi like control of the ball no matter if you jog or sprint or whatever u do, u have no control to do what I just explained and R1+R2 is completely automated, why can't we at least choose what direction we want to cut too?

Cmon people are running like they seriously have the ball glued to their feet even when they sprint even when they cut or change directions at speed, they keep the ball glued to their feet, even Messi doesnt do that in real life its not possible to keep it so close all the time changing directions and under pressure.

actaully i think of it when i watch barcelona and other good team in real life .. how on earth they keep the ball glued to the feet ? u need more practice

Still nearly impossible to take the ball away from the attacker without fouling.

Still impossible to use the defenders body to cover the ball without fouling.

Still impossible to out-run a forward when you're controlling a defender.

Still no runs from the forwards while on the counter.

Not even close to impossible, considering I've taken the ball away from an attacker many times without fouling.

Again, not impossible, been done many times.

Not true. Thankfully it's been made tougher to catch up here, compared to '11 or Fifa where the defender can catch the attacker with ease. Attackers have been through, it's key to just chase and chase and be patient and time tackles to perfection or use the keeper well.

Again, not true. Forwards do make runs and the entire point of the new player movement system is to use it and control players off of the ball and have them make runs. You need to use this and understand it...it's not something you'll master in a few games, this new system is the key to counters, runs and so on.

Also, tactics. These change breaks and counter attacks, you need to find your own system and change sliders, that can also help in counter attacks and getting more players forward on the break.

Also, rating it 5/10 is mentally bizarre, but hey, that's personal opinion I guess.

My rating is

1-2 dogshit
2-3 shit
4~ not good but not shit either
5~ better but still many issues
6~ good but some flaws
7~ very good but not great
8~ great game with very little flaws, some minor issues here or there
9~ amazing

anyhow, im going to list some fundamental things I think are some of the big problems so far from what I seen from the 1st and 2nd demo now, and I urge people here that say pes is amazing and great to prove me wrong.

- Keepers are quite bad alltho improved since the 1st demo

- Close control of players is way too good, players that have 60-70 Dribble acc. ( I checked ) keep the ball so close to their feet even when I hold R1 to sprint, its not realistic at all, its almost Messi like and thats 60-70 DA.

- I feel no difference between a fast and slow player or between a strong or weak player, I remember PES6 had a major difference that you could feel, here I don't have such a feeling, most players feel almost exactly the same, fast players don't seem fast and strong players don't seem strong.
*example Lennon with 97 top speed was running for a through ball and the defender from Rangers which top speed is low was running at the same speed as Lennon.
*example2 no matter how fast your player is you can't even close the gap once an opposing player is through even tho he is CONTROLING THE BALL which should make him slower.

Dunno how old you guys are on here but you gotta understand business.

Konami & EA could iron out every little detail and make near enough a perfect game

Then what???

how could they improve next years version?

They always have to leave certain features for the following year otherwise they wont have a game to sell. You will then all complain that the game is the same as last years version.

Havent played either demo yet.. will have a go on them after tonights football... i already prefer pes2012 (demo1) over 2011 so im hopefull ill like the game

Well I have played both demo's 1st on PS3 and 2nd on XBOX and I have to say the 2nd demo is much better... it feels much more responsive and the shooting is much better not as floaty as the 1st demo! I'm pleased with it so far hopefully I will get hands on with a newer code of the game at eurogamer in 2 weeks time and see how it has come on, but for me it's alot better than pes 2011 and that is saying something as I enjoyed PES 2011! The only think I noticed on the new demo thou is that now and again it stutters for a second which I guess will be sorted by the time of release! 9/10 for me brilliant game but still room for improvements!

Final Code?

I have played the 2nd demo on 360 and very impressed so far. Some obvious room for improvement but there always is with PES.

I have noticed a lot of people saying they expect improvements in gameplay with the final game but I think this is wishful thinking. The beginning of the 360 2nd demo clearly says the 2nd demo is the final code other than roster updates etc.
So what you now see is what you will get come release day.

I'm now downloading the PS3 demo - I understand this is the better demo.

Have you played the WE original demo on PS3 from the Japanese store? If so, is this new demo much better than that one?

Really enjoying this game , my fourth match.

Apologies for playing same song twice,i don't know wtf happened there when converting.

You hated the 1st demo.... Why are you positive about the 2nd demo? Is it the pace more than anything else?
Yes.The last demo was stupidly fast and ruined it for me,but there's also a lot more improvements what i like in the new demo apart from game speed.

defending is a joy in this game! You can't do it like FIFA or old PES games, you have to actually understand and know what you're doing. When you figure out and get good with the defensive players switching using the right stick you feel like you're controlling the whole defense, closing up space. Instead of just playing D on the ball with your defender and your help player you actually control the whole field. Takes getting used to but once it clicks its fun as hell! This PES it will be crucial to know how to defend, those online bums that run with Messi or Ronaldo are in for a rude awakening if they don't figure this out because once you stop them your counter attacks will be leathal if they don't know what they're doing on the defensive end of the ball.
I'm still learning but i think forgetting the cursor switch problems in pes 2011,i could sill have better control over my back four when Tracking back. still seems a bit sloppy and loose at times when defeding and big cb's not being commanding enough.Particular when tracking back a lofted ball the defenders seem less responsive.

I played maybe 5 matches on the first demo and put it away but there are tons of little improvements on the second one, mainly the speed of the game and i think the defending has gotten a lot of attention because of the responsiveness of the players. the buildup play is so much sweeter and rewarding in this version.

To get the real feel of pes12 take all the assisted tackling, sliding, passing & clearing off. The game feels immense.

Really is a great game. Always room for improvement and I'm talking Keepers. Until pes 6 they had them pretty much spot on but since then they have got them wrong.

In the next 12 months Konami need to watch 1000s of hours of keeper reactions, saves, kicks and keepers in general.

Would love to see a keeper slide in his Knees as he realises the shot is going wide rather than dive and give away a corner from a shot that's going miles wide.

I'll give demo 8.5/10

I don't know how some people keep giving this game such high grades, there are so many fundamental things so wrong with it...

Here check this, this vid shows Rangers ( club with D technique ), and its player sprinting with the ball while having such close control that perhaps only Messi could ( while sprinting ), or at least close to it.

If anyone thinks this here isn't wrong then I seriously don't know if anyone here even watches real soccer.

2º demo

My biggest win at the star ... I just did 4x1 at Bayer. Now there was lack of Rooben ... played a lot. hahahaha

This is football, this is PES! Watch in HD

That was the goal of the 4x1! Pure team game ... I had to save!

THAT GAME!!

These are immediate impressions after playing Demo #2 with a friend on the PC for a couple of hours this evening:

* It all feels a bit more polished now

* Defenders are not so sluggish anymore and react much quicker when slide tackling for example, so defending is easier and attacking (a little bit) harder

* In fact, everything is so much quicker now (arcade:ish that is) so to avoid the feeling of having your players skate around on ice, set game speed to -1

Over all the 2nd demo improves certain things from the 1st demo and I remain optimistic about the game, although a few bugs seem to remain.

Konami & EA could iron out every little detail and make near enough a perfect game Then what??? how could they improve next years version?

Or Konami could perfect it now, bury EA, and dominate the market. Ever think of that one?

This next question is probably asked 20 times here but I didn't take the time to scroll through the 9 pages for the answer; where the f*@$ is the PS3 Demo 2? Still not available in the U.S.

Come on Konami, I'm counting on you. I actually traded in PES2011 tonight along with Madden 11. The latter stock was dropping a few dollars and the same would probably happen for PES soon. I thought I could mess with the new demo in the meantime but no where to be found. I was able to get $19.99 for the two of them now.
