[NEWS] PES 2012 Demo #2 OUT NOW!

I have only played 2 matches so far. BUT I am going to point out the obvious things I noticed.

-Defenders have quicker response times when tackling. MUCH NEEDED.
- Close control is toned down and you can win the ball back easier
- First touch variations are back. Defenders have a worse first touch than attackers.
- I also felt more in control
- Power freekicks are finally improved. You can make a bouncing shot and it will still be powerful.
- Ball speed when shooting is also fixed.

Overall, so far, better than the first demo without a doubt. I was starting to hate the first demo and haven't played it in almost 2 weeks.
But this one is good. I just need more time with it.

They always have to leave certain features for the following year otherwise they wont have a game to sell. You will then all complain that the game is the same as last years version.

Havent played either demo yet.. will have a go on them after tonights football... i already prefer pes2012 (demo1) over 2011 so im hopefull ill like the game

I agree with your sentiment, as I also find it difficult to appreciate this reasoning, and don't think that you can run a successful business in this day and age with that approach and lack of commitment.

After playing the 2nd demo, finally, It makes me wonder why the hell they released the first one! This one is MUCH better IMO. I could even tell this when playing my first game. I couldn't exactly put my finger on why it had improved so much, but in my head, I know it had.

I only played 3 games, so far I have no major gripes with the gameplay. I'm gonna give it a go with all manual settings later, as someone suggested.
I think the long range shooting could be a tad more powerful, and that shouty shouty emo song is quite possibly the worst thing I've ever heard.

Much, much better in almost every way. Only three negatives stick out at the moment:

1. So-called "reverse catchup bug" seems to make ANY player, regardless of speed and dribbling stats, uncatchable if they break the defensive line. Keepers seem much better 1v1, though, so it hasn't cost me yet.

2. Defenders and other players with poor technical abilities and dribbling skills still have crazy good close control and dribble their way out of pressure far too often and too easily, and make passes Sneijder would find difficult in real life.

3. I have yet to encounter a free kick from the AI that wasn't signed, sealed, delivered to the top corner. In fact, the only goals I've given up have been from FKs. I've had Ranocchia on the post, only to have the ball laser through the inches between his head (at full leap) and the post, straight into the angle. The keepers, at least, try to get to them more than last year, but it's annoying how perfect they always are. I think it's due to the fact that lining a FK up correctly per the game's mechanism triggers the sequence that prevents a certain player in the wall from jumping and more or less guides the ball to a place where the keeper usually can't/won't reach it, and the AI will virtually always dial it in accurately. It's been a problem in past versions, but it seems really over the top now.

A few tweaks in these key areas, and it'll be the best PES in a long time, imo.

For sure... all companies do it.. look at the shaving companies.. they bring out one shaver and its the best thing yet... then a few months down the line there is an EVEN better one! all they did was make the blade thinner.. like they couldnt have done that before.

Ok just downloaded this and am halfway through my first game and this has impressed me so much! I've only played the demos of PES in recent years (last full game I owned was PES5) and like I just said this has impressed me alot!

Managed to get on last night on sexbox. Real good game. Opens up a new world controlling that second player, Managed to score a great goal with bale by getting him to run through defense then chip over using right stick. I need practice though, Fuck me i got mauled off rangers 3-1 thanks to impressive ai despite controlling the game. Keeper did make a blunder and punched the ball onto my defender for an own goal!..But really it's a fucking good demo. You guys must be good playing on top player!!. Just feels "right" to me....Ps is there any button guides out for xbox? Cheers

WE11 DEMO 1 = very promising
PES DEMO 2 = :w00t great!
This will be a great year of PES!!!

Does anyone have any news on online? Have they announced any of the community options? Did they try out the "lag" like in the past 2 years? Connections online were very good in PES2011, very little lag to speak of and generally a good experience. Im talking US servers, I understand the Euro ones had more issues.

Does anyone find that your player stops running and sometimes does a trick randomly? Sometimes feels like I'm not in control of what the player is doing!

I've had that, usually occurs when I'm pressing the RS to put somebody on a run, so could be to do with that? Might change if you change everything to manual (data part has changed where you can change many things from auto if you haven't already).

Anyway, Huddlestone is my favorite player on the demo, he plays exactly how he does in real life. Some moments, very poor video quality, took it on my blacberry and it got even worst when I uploaded it for some reason.

First is a thunder bolt off of the post. Second is a screaming into the bottom corner and the third is just a Huddlestone long pass to Lennon. Pass might not look great through the video, but in the moment it was just awesome and demonstrated how good the passing is in this game, really crucial to take risks and try to play these type of balls, because it looks so great when you do it. Love his shooting too, very realistic and the way he usually shoots in real life for Spurs, some low driven shots, also shows shooting isn't just 'floaty', you just need to learn the system of shooting.

i thiught konami said after playing demo 2 we didnt need to see intro to game or do we have to wait nearly 10mins everytime i switch it on its a pain in the ahole

I dont buy into it.. i know its done.. the product does get improved but im sure these companies hold back certain features for the following year.

You only need to watch it once when you turn the game on.

you can play 5 games and only watch it once.

if you then go and play another game for a bit then come back to playing pro again later you will have to watch the intro again.. Last year you had to watch the intro after every game you played.
