They should throw caution to the wind and just put Harewood and Bobo Balde on the cover. I'd buy it 3 times just for that.

I honestly dont think that PES was a better game on the playstation 2 then it was on the xbox. I had both and the gameplay was identical. In all honesty I prefered the ps2 version more because the controller was far superior to that of the xbox. The 360 controller is a huge improvement and that is a positive for the people who own a 360

Its all speculation that the PS3 will get a better version of the game. Until that is confirmed I'm not going to make an arguement on which console will have the better version.

Gameplay wise there will be no difference (surely?) so it comes to down to either the fact you are a graphics whore or which controller you prefer.

I cannot wait for PES 7 now.

Especially now that there is supposedly an Edit mode in it. As you all are surely aware, I enjoy the Editing. But, obviously there is nothing better on PES then playing the actual game. I just hope that there is untucked shirts and gloves aswell now, as there wasn't on the 360 version as far as I'm aware. I think that the only things it missed Last Year ( I am talking about the Xbox 360 version ) was a full edit mode, and untucked shirts and gloves ( Even though they are minor really, but they are nice touches that surely will be added if not this version then another ).

Some more info form the Winningeleven11 Blog

Details coming from French video game site JEUXVIDEO.fr today claims that PES 2008 will be playable at this years Leipzig Game Show which takes place around the 22nd of August. The article also has some more information from Konami officials regarding next-gen comparisons and the differences in WE/PES regional releases.

The article claims that for the first time the Japanese and European releases will be identical (except for languages etc), due to the strain on resources caused by developing on demanding next-gen consoles and many platforms. The US version is also being touted for an earlier release this year with many major US retailers claiming a December expected ship date. Secondly the editor claims that there should be no graphical differences between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. That last comment is sure to stir up the fanboy wars!

This happened in PES5. I had a corner in the last minutes, and through no chioce of my own, the keeper came up. He did fuck all like, but i thought it was pretty cool at the time ;)

its not that easy to get hold of konami, all i know is that there will be stuff that wont make it to the 360 because of the limited space, i dont know what those features might be, but what i think konami is sayin by this is that there will be more details in the ps3 version, like a deeper master league, a very broad edit mode, more kit, boot, hairstayle, weather, stadiums options and obviously superior graphics

The blue-ray discs size doesn't affect the ablitily for more editing potential. Edits are stored on the hard drive not the disc.

If the PS3 truly does have more than the 360 because of the DVD/Blu-ray capacity, which it won't, it should be an embarsement to Konami's lack of software development skills.

If FIFA with superiour graphics and 30 licensed leagues can fit on a DVD-9 disk for the 360, Konami should have no execuses fitting all their content on a DVD-9 disk as well. Because it's the graphics that take up most of the disk space not the actual gameplay/editing code.

This is taken from another forum, but I couldn't have written it better myself;)

This is all spot on. Either Castrometal is talking out of his arse or he's been fooled by someone claiming to be a Konami representative. The fact is, the only way a DVD-9 will not be big enough is if the textures/audio files are so big (and uncompressed) that they surpass the 11GB a DVD-9 holds.

Infact, I did some calculations of my own. You can use high-def kits on the PC versions of PES and they are still a relatively small file size (approx. 100kb per kit). Now if, somehow, the kits in PES7 were 5mb each (way beyond that of next-gen-quality high-def kits on the PC and completely uncompressed) to have 2 kits each for 500 teams (and there will probably be nowhere near that amount of teams) would take 5GB. Include all the audio, game engine and other content, you are struggling to reach anything like 19GB that the PS3 version supposedly has. That is by grossly exaggerating filesize's too.
Now if the kits were only 1MB each (which is still WAY more then the high-def kits), 500 teams with 3 kits each would still be only a gig and a half. Add double that for the stadium textures. Add another 3GB for uncompressed audio. Add another 2GB for the game engine and other content and even with all these exaggerated filesizes, it only reaches 9.5GB which can easily fit on a DVD-9. The fact is, limitations in storage space doesn't come into deciding whether the PS3 gets more content. That is simply down to Konami having a bias and being business people, they'll do whatever they can to maximise sales on all formats.

It's a long rant I know, but you get my point.

gr8 points,i dont remember any difference between xbox and ps2 pes5!and i prefer xbox 360 version to ps2,even tho its slight the graphics are better and the overall feel is more realistic,pes6 ps2 is just like pes5 with less freekicks and more arcade like, saying that i still like it just prefer 360 version, which i know many will prolly disagree with. i do prefer the ps controller tho,but like you say 360 is a massive improvement, the only problem is single stepovers using rt is difficult.

anyways i want more screens and info!!!!!!:D
