Online - What team do you use?

Hey guys,

Just thought it would be cool to have a thread about this.

I use Barcelona online. Not because it has Messi (I barely use him), but because of Eto'o. He is a beast, and can score with both feet, is fast, and powerful. They also have a decent defense and great sidebacks. The formation I use it a 4-1-1-1-2-1.

What team do you use? Why? What formation?

I use Italy to stop little twatboys like you talking advnatage of the poor netcode and the Beginner difficulty level by just walking Eto'o right through defence and into the goal net.

When in possession, I play:

And play nice football trying to go for some lovely goals. When I lose possession I quickly switch to:

This tactic works a treat when the connection is reasonably playable. However, inevitably the lag kicks in giving my opponent the opportunity to just power thru my defense with some Uber-striker and walk ball into net. Otherwise all you cut-backing little dribbling cocksuckers get no joy against me.



Grrr...I fckn hate this game online.

The fact that you chose Eto'o for online says that u are more interested in accumulating points than playing the game for enjoyment. Hence people like you ruin my enjoyment of the game.

Offline, Eto'o n co are no big deal because defending is actually possible, but online, Eto'o pwns due to a combination of lag, shoddy netcode, the game being stuck on beginner, and how the ball glues to his feet and how he never misses the spot.

I made the mistake earlier of sportingly choosing Nigeria to play Cameroon....

What I never realised was that Eto'o was in the Cameroon team so I guess I fell for the little cunts trick of getting me to pick 'weaker' teams. Needless to say, All the little shitbag did was get the ball to Eto'o and just try and tun right through my defense the whole time....he won 3-0....all goals from Eto'o.

Get in front of goal with Eto'o, press shoot...goal every time...utter fucking nonsense.

You're that bitter about Eto'o huh? He must really haunt you in your dreams. Anyway, like I said, I'm not a run whore. Eto'o is a great striker and it is fun to score impossible shots oustide the box once in a while. Plus, like I said, I chose barca in the end not for Messi or any other run whore, but because they have a solid fast team.

Also, you can easily stop run whores by placing 2 of your midfielders on him (man marking aggressive); even if the game is on beginner online. And you should have no problem doing this with Italy (Gattuso, Ambrosini)

The best player I've played against owned me with Lyon (3-1 i think). Benzema and Juninho.. those fuckers. Best gameplay I have seen thus far on PES. Forgot his name.

Another person who was really good used Atletico Madrid. Aguero is a beast.

i hate people who always use barca online, just proves how ridiculous online has got, messi eto henry all the same really, im not pointing my finger at you forza but thats just my opinion, the real pro evo players are the ones that can be any team and still play a good game and win play hard but play fair & have fun thats my motto

just use cameroon then for eto'o. as for me i use whatever team is usually a rival of the opposing team, i wait until some1 picks the team then i pick mine. the majority use barcelona or chelsea, so i pick whoever for those cunts. i guess fifa's force to have you play the game by passing the ball around isnt such a bad idea after all

Yeh i use Athletico Madrid quite a lot or Roma, as much as i'd love to use Bolton, their players are so slow that i just couldn't face the mighty trotters being humiliated online.

Eto'o is unplayable at times, online. I've played roughly 50 matches and I'd have to say the opponent has picked Barca 80% of the times.

Still, a great feeling when you pass the ball around and they are restricted in the amount of times they can actually get the ball to Eto'o. But when they do, oh dear, the AI will open up like a woman deprived of .........

Understand what you saying Forzamilan because we all like to win online sometimes, but what people are trying to say is it is not very enjoyable for the people like myself who like to play game fair and this means not relying on one superhuman player and playing same trusted ways of scoring. I play as Aston Villa as its who i support and get beat more than i win but i get as much enjoyment out of nearly always having 60% possession and knowing ive played fair and in good spirit.

I like to use the teams I support: Newcastle & England.

I think people who use the Elite teams Barca, Milan etc... should try using more 'Middle of the Road' teams, rather than relying on super-human players.

My grandad could win using Barcelona - and he's dead.

I get really, really, really bored playing against the AC/Barca kids Online. However it is their choice what teams they use.

WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS:

To avoid the AC/Barca Kids, I create a Match Room (on PS3) and call it: SMALL/MEDIUM TEAMS ONLY PLS!

Someone joins, scrolls around every team in every league then selects Barcelona after I have selected Newcastle.

Can these Muppets please read room name - and follow the rules. There are plenty of children who use elite teams online, just go play with them!

There are some really cool people online, who will pick more or less equal teams and have exciting & fun games. This is all I want.

It would be a great feature online if Konami were to set optional 'Team Banding' for online play, so if you create a match room you could opt to set it so your opponent could only select a team in the same category as you, example if I chose Newcastle the opponent may choose from Spurs, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid etc...
Or if I chose AC Milan the opponent could choose from Inter, Man U, Barca etc...
Or just do not select the team banding and Play as Stoke V Barcelona.

If Konami were to implement such a service it would make for a less annoying time playing online!

What I don't get is people using Barca/Inter/ManUnt just as often in friedlies and 2v2...
Fair enough when you care about the ranking but in friendlies??? FFS!!!

I haven't played a single ranked game yet because I'm fed up with playing the same teams over and over in friendlies and when you check the game status, it's the same 4-5 teams all the time, so this would give me no joy.

I think the last teams I used were Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Basel, China and Fulham (even got a diving pen with Andy Johnson, LOL).
