Dragonfly

Waiting....
It looks like I don't have a good enough video card to play the demo. Oh well, not to worry, I'll just wait for the game to come out (on 360).

Am I the only one who thinks this demo totally sucks? I mean the passing alone sucks so bad I don't think I'll be buying this rubish. C'mon Konami, play a few matches of PES 5 and start everything all over again foor pes 2009, thank you.
I think you might be the only one not liking the demo.

No he aint the only one.....

I mean, the game is good.....and unlike 'Old Gen' FIFA 2008 on PC, it is good that the PC version is 'Next Gen' (so-called, but in reality my 2 year old rig runs this game MAXED with no issues at all......so dont see wots Next Gen about it from the point of view of PS3 and Xbox owners) .

But from having played it a bit the game has hardly come on leaps and bounds. Whilst the ball physics are greatly improved, the gameplay is much slicker, and the game does seem to force you to try different things out, there are still the same old frustrating limitations in the outfield department where the only ball it is ever a real option to play before the last 1/3rd of the pitch is short passes to feet....And still, there exist's all the old frustrations of players not making good runs and simple passes aimed in a distinct direction being carried on the same old PES railtracks to the opposition player just whenever the game feels like it is time for u to lose possesion.

FIFA 2008 (on Xbox360....NOT on PC), on the otherhand has vastly superior potential in the outfield department with a much greater range of control options and much more complex outfield build up play mechanics on offer. In otherwords, the outfield gameplay is vastly much more realistic than the gameplay of Proev and when playing Next Gen FIFA, you really do get that football fans buzz of when your team is knocking the ball about well and building up their game...............Of course, where ProEv comes up trumps is in its ball physics and sharp responsive control system which ensures that whilst palying PES, you are always gonna feel more closer to the action.

Although overall, ProEV is still going to be the better game, it is a great shame that with all this extra processing power to play with, the game is still more or less the same old pile of hackneyed cack that PES6 was.

May I firstly say that only admins can see you even made a post and that even we get thiis notification:

"The administrator has decided that 8gerrard8 should be quiet for a while. "

Now, whilst you do have a Radeon 9200 that doesn't mean you can play the game on full settings. It being at the very low end of cards supported by the game, you surely cannot be surprised that it will only allow you to play at low settings and not even medium?

Have you run the Settings program prior to running the actual demo?

Try the front page of PESGaming, there's some mirrors there.

I downloaded the full version of FIFA and played it quite a lot by now, and it still doesn't compare to even the demo. Although admittedly, they are vastly improving.

hi...(repeated from another thread but I'm following up also...)

I just played the demo for an hour.

With VSync (an option using the seperate SETTINGS applet) set ON it plays ridiculously (comedically) fast.

With it OFF it plays like theyre running in treacle.

My guess is that the problems arise from it being a XBOX360 port.

This better not be how the final version plays !

edit...

The speed varies depending on the monitors current refresh rate.
If I force it to 60 hertz then the games runs at what I'm guessing is the normal tempo.

However, I have my trusty old CRT running at a lovely comfortable 120 Hertz and the game is running at double speed !

It's ridiculous and they'd better bloody fix it before it goes gold.

I just capped a minute of gameplay to demonstrate this anomally.
I can't believe nobody else has mentioned this problem. Are you guys ALL using LCD's or running your CRT's at 60hz ?

Your problem has nothing to do with your monitor. The computer is processing the game at that speed - for some reason :|. Maybe just because of Vertical Sync?

I might try it when I boot back into XP just to test it.

Would do so now but the demo doesn't recognise any Vista graphics drivers because Konami are ignorant.

Well it DOES have something to do with the monitor...but I see what you mean. Of course its the graphics card thats calling the shots.

They'd better do something about it. I prefer to play with vysnc on to avoid tearing and I dont want to play at 60hz because it gets very uncomfortable looking at the screen with such a slow refresh.

I have an 8800gts 320 GCard and XP Pro by the way.

oh and another thing...the WHOLE game is influenced. The clock also speeds up. So a game is lasting two and a half minutes instead of five !

Sloppy port. That's the cause.

Ah well...they've finally lengthened the replay time. (still not long enough to record a length of the field flowing move of course..so gotta carry on using Fraps)

Hello Guys,

I've also downloaded the demo but can't install, it keeps sayin' unable to finish installation. Only error message I have is that :(

I have 64 bit Windows XP both on my office and home, and during my installation attempt at home it said your operation system is not adequate for this demo. So, demo can't work with 64bit operating systems? What kind of next game is thaT?
