tryed it without any firewall..still no luck...hmm..so what could I try now?
It means the problem is with the router and the settings there. Are you forwarding the correct port in your router? Run the Settings program, click Online and see which port PES is trying to use, then ensure you are forwarding that port in your router. You may need to see how to forward ports for your particular router which involves finding the manual or searching online.

I know how to 
ive done it for a few applications without any issues. In the settings the port number is set to AUTO. I did unclick it and it was using 3739 so I went into the router and put that one forward...still no luck!!! ive forwarded 4 port numbers for the game but none of them work!!

hey all.
im trying to get onto PES 2008 online
but after 'testing network environment'
it says:
unable to transmit using UDP port 5730.
you may need to connect directly to the internet or adjust your connection device i.e router settings
assign DMZ, port mapping, configure NAT table and other router settings to the console.
anyone know how i could sort it?
i have a router, but other online games work. i just had to sort the net out in the games options, but there doesnt seem to be any in the PES 2008 options.

hi all,
PES2008 is really running great on my computer (Athlon 64 3200+, 2GB DDR400, GeForce 7600GT), i've got 60FPS constantly, but sometimes, when the action is near the goal, the game just "coughs" for a second. it might be minor problem, but sometimes really annoys me, especially when i'm building an attack. someone with the same problem? any suggestion will be greatly appreciated

hi firstly, i can log onto online etc and have created a profile but whenever i try to connect to a match it says unable to connect with oppenent! the whole time!
does anyone know what i should do?

You have to go to your router settings and forward port 5730 to your computer.
Probably your graphics card to be honest.
A few people are having that issue and I've no idea why you can connect online but then can't play an opponent. Does your router have a DMZ setting? If so, turn that off and see if it works. Let me know.

oki i can see that including me after the search i ve seen many many many ppl have the same very frustrating prob.
can get online see everything but cant connect to rooms
no fire walls no protection no router i mean how much simplier could it be.
in that first disable all other connection solution .... i dont seem to be able to close everything cause i get a msg " this connection may be using 1 or more protocols that do not support plug and play" >.<
and 1 more question that pacth release supposed to help online prob like that or it was specific for grafic,sound ect offline and interface probs???
do we have a contact number for their official pc support

New patch hardly fixes anything
face scan problem
Every time I finished scan in an image file and edited/saved the player, it doesn't work after I quit then restart PES08.
After restart the edited player's head/skin is always black without facial details, and the imputed(scanned) faces are lost. won't show up again even if I reload the edited data,etc.

Vista32 Performance Tips
Hi guys, I got some tips for those of you running PES 2008 in Vista32 same as me.
Firstly to improve performance,
Set the game's shortcut to "Disable Desktop Composition" in the compatability tab. This will disable the Aero theme during gaming giving you better performance.
Download and install the latest DirectX 9C Package (Oct 2007)
Update to the newest graphics Drivers for your card, if necessary do a "clean install" of the driver.
Clean Driver Install Method:
Remove current Driver via programs and features in control panel,
Reboot to safe mode (press F8 on windows boot)
In safe mode use Driver Cleaner Pro, set it to clean your driver (eg "Nvidia" or "ATI" only and run.
Reboot to windows and install the new driver .
Nvidia graphics card Users;
Create a new profile for the game (click the "add" button in profiles and navigate to the games instalation folder, look for the PES2008.exe and choose it).
In the settings section for the profile , turn ON these options for the game; Texture Filtering : Anisotropic mip filter & Sample optimisations, Texture Quality - Performance , Threaded Optimisation (if you have a dual-core or better).
Network Play;
I use Zonealarm Firewall, and it can be a bit iffy with PES games , so make sure if you also use it to set your Internet Security Level to "Medium" while playing, and that you give the game access to the internet and server rights.
Disable any Anti-Virus Software while gaming as this can slow games down considerably. As long as you are not dowloading any files whatsoever and you have a firewall active your computer will not be compromised doing this.

My specs are
