Is it setup correctly in the Settings program prior to running the game?

Hmmmm.....

I checked the setting and have the option for DirectInput and XInput - neither of which worked. There's an option for 4 different controllers, but I can't see any kind of change when I select any of them.

There's a device option, but it's blank out.

I'm stuck again, but I think the settings are definitely the key.

When viewing Controller 1 and Controller 2, do you have items set in the Device dropdown menu? I've used two PS2 controllers on PES 2009 and previous releases so know that isn't an issue. Never tried two 360 controllers.

There's nothing there to select under devices.

hey, i've been having a bit of a problem with 2009 recently after it decided to crash now whichever controller i decide to configure in the game settings (which work fine) i start a match and get absolutely nothing out of my controller in the match, although it works in the menus fine. The second player also works alright, confusing.
I hope someone has a suggestion on how to fix this! I'm running an AMD Athlon X2 6400, 8800gts, 3.25gb ram and XP.
Cheers guys.

My game freezes in the Loading screen whenever I try to:
a) play Champions League mode or
b) play any type of match with or against Real Madrid

I open up Task Manager and it's eating over 1.5GB. I then have to kill it from there.

The kit for RM won't even load and it starts going really slow to get to the formation screen. I think these two scenarios may be correlated. Is there any way to edit the RM kit, or any option file that does so?

I've done the following, but nothing helped:
1. Installed patch 1.1
2. Installed patch 1.2
3. Used the "Download" option in System Settings
4. Switched to Kowalski's PC option file

PC PES09 (Spanish Language)
1024x768 Mid setting/skip frames/no video

XP SP2 (32bit)
Pentium 4 2.8gHz
1GB DDR400
GeForce 7300LE 512VRAM

Do you mean Kowalski's OF?
The problem happened before AND after I switched to it, so that's not it.
I don't know if there's any OF that actually changes Real Madrid's kit, since the included one is already the official.

In that case, consider me entirely confused. Did it happen before you patched the game? If you're unsure, try that.

It shouldn't help AT ALL but just try 800x600 on low or something crazy like that. Anything to try and get the game to play correctly.

I am wondering if anyone is running this game on Vista with the Radeon 4870 pci.
I just got a new PC that was loaded with Vista 32 and the 4870. I see in the literature that came with the game that this card is not listed as being supported
directly.
I am having crash issues throughout Vista as well as PES.
Does anyone know for a fact that this card is supported.
I see alot of posts about people having crash issues with PES, but are there lots
of people having no issues?
Should I pursue the PC version of this game or just play on 360?

Is the Radeon HD 4850 on the supported list? If not, don't worry as I use the 4850 on XP and the game is fine so you'd expect the 4870 to be fine too. Ensure you've got the latest DirectX and graphics card drivers.

The 4850 is not on the list either.
This system came with no dedicated sound card such as Sound Blaster etc.
The system uses a Realtek device on the Mobo. I tried disableing this and
managed to play 3 games in a row on 1920x1080 with no crashes.
I think I may be on to something.
Do you think I should go buy a sound card? I am not sure why it did not have one?
Also wondering about Direct x.
The system came with DX10 but PES installed Dx9 from the disc.
Could this be causing conflict?
I appreciate your input on this matter.

Evening all, was wondering if I could get some help.. I put some songs on my PS3 that were on iTunes via USB stick with the intention of having them as the BGM on PES09, however, when I go to playlist editor, there nowhere to be found..

Any ideas on what the problem might be? the standard music sucks!

Cheers

*EDIT* Sorry, only just read the full thread title!

Sorry I've only just seen this.

Windows Vista uses DirectX 10 ONLY and Windows XP only goes up to DirectX 9. There will be no conflict.

A sound card is a consideration, even for very little money you could get something more capable than on-board sound. Strange the on-board device is causing a conflict.

Solution for High ReSolution

I don't believe it is possible to play PES at that resolution without any crashes. I continue to play at 1280x800 and have no patches installed due them not liking my save game. As it is, I suffer no crashes at all.

Hello again Mr. Sweey..
Thank you for your fast reply. I was wondering though is there any solution available now for playing PES 2009 with a full HD resolution?

It's been quite some time now since I faced this problem with PES 2009 (I didn't find this problem in any other game such as COD4, Assassin's Creed, GTAIV, Quantum Of Solace etc) and I still try to keep searching the solution for this matter in other thread of forum..

Or do I have to accept the fact that KONAMI people didn't prepare and didn't realise that some people nowadays use bigger LCD than 17" along wth PC?

If I may know, what actually makes the game crashes when it was set in 1920 x 1080? because it crashes mostly at half-time/full time, but run smoothly during the play. I assume the game was also designed for that resolution..

Hopefully you or anyone who read this post could help me.

Thank you in advance..

I don't believe they've fixed the issue completely, extremely worryingly.

Thanks Mr. Sweey..

I've tried to follow your tip earlier about lowering the resolution down to 1280 X 800 (8:5), however the crashing problem still occur.. do you know why? I tick the LB option (what does LB mean anyway?), the 16:9 option, full screen option, and also choose the use frame skipping option & wait for vsync. Was the setting correct? because during the game, the graphic didn't seem change much.
