@grapesnake and everybody else having the crash problems: a lot of people said changing the resolution to 1024x768 fixed it. have you tried it?

I tried 1024x768, 1280x720, 1280x680 and 1920*1200 but none of them can work. I still can't enter any game, even exhibition matchs.

I hope the patch this week can help me out.:(

Yea and Im gonna believe a 5 poster....

PES doesnt allow 7 in any position.

Those "%s" are the game getting strings from the data which has never happened.

Fake. Real fake.

It happens to me all the time, it is not fake, hopfuly it gets fixed

I'm screwed...

After the january transfer period, of my first year, I signed with another club... When it was loading the next week, my game CTD.

That was normal since I normally did have CTDs in BAL, but the difference is that after aplying the fix, like I did so many times, the game now loads the week, but immediatly crashes.

After that, if I try to load the same save game, it crashes while loading.
If i apply the fix, it loads, but crashes immediately after...
You get the picture...

I've tried lowering the resolution to 1024x768 but I still get crashes using both methods (fix and non fix)....

My question is: Do I need to start a new BAL for this resolution thing to work?

I've changed the resolution to 1280x800 (lowest widescreen resolution available, I believe) and the crashes appear to have gone away though I'll be testing it further.

You did that on a new BAL?

Or on one that was previously crashing?

Nope, on my existing one but not from a save which was crashing immediately upon loading.

I just tried playing low quality 640x480, and the game loaded fine.

As soon as i went to that week's game (a training one since I had been transfered) the game crashed right after the formation screen... as it was loading the actual game...

EDIT1 :When the game crashes the information on the loading screen says: "Importing data" or something like that (I'm not on the English version).

Will try with different settings to see what I get....

P.S: Sorry for the double post...

EDIT2: Could you please post wich settings you're using?

Full screen, 1280x800 (BAL suffered the random crash on 1680x1050), high quality, LB, frame skipping, vertical sync and nullify movie playback all unchecked.

I'm using an ATi Radeon HD 4870 with Catalyst 9.9 drivers.

I tried your settings, and I still got problems.

After some intensive testing, I discovered that when I had v-sync enabled, my save game wouldn't load. No matter what resolution I used.

The game still crashes regardless of settings, when loading the weekly match....

My specs btw:
Intel Q6600 @ 2,4Ghz
2GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT
Windows XP SP2

I'll try to update my video drivers, as they aren't last version, but I seriously doubt thats the problem...

UPDATE:
After updating my video drivers (unsurprisingly), the problem remains...

I guess I'll stay away from BAL until friday....
Any news if it's gonna be an online update or a downoadable one?

Hi. I wonder what is the highest resolution that PES2009 can be played on?
I have 37" Full HD LCD-TV via HDMI to graphic card. When I'm using the Clone Mode, the PES settings will only allow to set resolution to 1680*900 (16:9) or 1680*1050 (8:5). However my TV supports resolution up to 1920*1080p. It doesn't matter if I switch to DualView mode, the max.resolution is still 1680*1050 (which is my LCD-monitor max.resolution BenQ G2200W). So if there is any chance to get PES resolution to 1920*1080 please tell me.
The Game looks great on 1680*900 but if there is option for higher resolution --> better.

Dear deckz I tried evry single driver but nothing changed. My graphic card performs unbelivably except pes 2009. What the hell may the problem be! I am frustrated...

Before solving my own speed problems, i managed to play at normal speeds using the "Windowed Mode".

Try using that, I know it's not the ideal gaming experience playing in windowed mode but this is the only idea I can currently suggest to you.

EDIT: have you tried playing around with the resolutions and check boxes in settings.exe?

Also, you can give KitServer a go:

Just noticed something!

In my crashing save, the lineups are all mixed up!

For Benfica, for example Sidnei, a CB created by myself is playing CF!

The game also crashes when I go to team formation menu... I'm not talking about the one that shows before a match.

Gave up on my save....

I've started a new one, playing 1024x768 windowed, and so far, no crashes till week 27....

How do I update my computer's video card to Pixel Shader 2.0? Do I have to buy it?

PS2.0 is a characteristic of the video card... not an independent feature.

If you don't have PS2.0, you have to buy a video card that supports it.

There is a patch released tomorrow, heres the official gumpf

"New patch coming for "Pro Evolution Soccer 2009" PC version

We have discovered a problem within the PC version of "Pro Evolution Soccer 2009", which affected the stability of various modes in game. The problem has been analyzed and are confirming that a patch will be released on Thursday the 23rd of October 2008.

In the meanwhile we suggest that players who may be affected switch their resolutions to 1280*720 or lower in order to circumvent any sort of instability.

We would like to offer our most sincere apologies to all who have been affected by this, and wish all players lots of fun with PES 2009!"
