Speed of Play: The new level of control means that PES 2011 enjoys a more considered pace of play, which varies dependent on situations. The game will burst into life as counter-attacks come into play, but players can dictate the pace via slow build up or exploiting available space to surge forward. It is harder to make long runs from midfield, and successful play will depend on making quick passes to make room.
Aesthetics: PES 2010 showcased the best likenesses in a football game, and PES 2011 ups the ante further. Facial animation has been enhanced, but the key advances are over 1000 all-new animations which have been recreated from the ground up using over 100 hours of motion captured footage. Every aspect of player movement has been reworked, with more organic runs, turns, throw-ins, tackles, and interaction. The way players speed up and slow down is also more natural, while replays display elements of motion blur that bring your saved goals to vivid life.
I think these points which I highlighted in bold is what's going to make PES 2011 the better game!
Of-course we haven't yet seen this with our own eyes yet.
But the speed of the players movement is crucial to bringing back what PES 5/6 had to offer.
In PES 5/6 it was much harder to run with the players like Messi, Et'o etc.
That's why PES 5/6 were the best games of the series. If only Konami didn't remove the online servers for PES 5/6 I would be playing them all day online until this very moment.
Since PES 2008 we had players running like cheetah's. So basically, what Konami have to really do is tweak players like Messi, Eto'o, Wright-Phillips, Ronaldo, Martin Petrov, etc And not make them run like Cheetah's!
This is one of the reason why in PES 2010 online we see everybody using Real Madrid, Barca, Man City, Inter...
I am always forced no matter what, to pick a big team, otherwise I can't compete with the other Cheetahs.. Nearly every player in Man City runs like a cheetah. Bellamy, Petrov, Wright-Phillips you name it.
If this is fixed in PES 2011 I think we are in for a real treat!
The goal keepers need to be reworked too! We need strong goal keepers and also defenders who are well capable of stealing the ball off Messi. The fact that the ball sticks like glue in Messi's feet is what kills the realism of the game.
I still played over 100 hours of PES 2010, but I am still not convinced by it despite loving the game at the same time.
Those features that Konami just announced need to strongly be taken into account!
Lets see what Konami can deliver this time round. At least I am more hopeful in Konami than EA Sports when it comes to the PC platform.
