FIFA actually outsellf PES 2.6 to 1 :smug:

Thanks for the info Abu....

As stated my figures were not realistic.

I strongly believe that Konami isn't really looking to be number one again ...just as long as they make a profit or break even. Budgets are being slashed everywhere and PES has already seen its peak.

When they stated that the core engine or platform of PES needed to be changed to create a new free flowing game a few years back, i was excited. They brought the same engine over from PS2 onto the Xbox360 and PS3. Since then they have side step every major problem by adding new menus and glossy looking players. Nothing about the new platform engine anymore.

I remember when PS3 came out and a lot of developers had a hard time coding games for the new system. They stated that the bluray disc offered a huge canvas for expansions but the PS3 core processors and design challenged the way the games were configured or produced in terms of graphical enhancements and transitions.

Today, very few developers have any issues with nex gen...it appears that PES is the only sporting game that suffers this set back with no hope for resolve. I wondered if they lacked the technical skills or maybe the move to a newer platform brought higher development cost. The answer is both and it appears that Konami has refused any budget increase for the PES franchise......

Hence we get stupid additions each year along with a nice video to kick off the start of another poor outing.

peace

Wait for PES 2014 - now that will blow FIFA out of the water seeing what the fox engine can do. I still have faith in PES 2013 as it has potential but the longetivity in PES is rubbish compared to the old days so KONAMI will always find away to mess it out

how do you know that the engine that will be used in pes 2014 is better than the present one???

Because it is next next gen and they've been working on it for more than a year. They've already said that it'll have dynamic weather and dynamic passing etc. New physics, animations 100 percent efficient and PS4 like

Look what it is capable of Thori-

Abu, it doesn't matter about the graphic rendering, yeah its nice if looks realistic and aesthetically pleasing, but its whether a decent engine can be created compatible with the current gen hardware. I doubt we'll see a new engine until the PS4. Shame.

From what I#ve heard, it'll be scaled down to fit the current-gen consoles and they've already said that the release date for the Xbox 720/PS4 hasn't been announced so they've focused on making it compatible. I can assure it won't be a travesty unlike what happened with PES 2008 as that was rushed.
But plans can change within a matter of minutes so theres no point in saying it now.

Not sure if ill be buying pes13. Im still playing pes12 on and off, But i think it might be more of the same with tweaks. Mind you i could be completly wrong of course!. Cant wait for next gen pes though that should be pretty amazing, When ever that may be (Xmas 2013 is being rumored for console)

Major tweaks, player individuality is reborn etc. If you enjoyed PES 2012, you will thing PES 2013 will be worth the price (thats what a playtester said)

I have to admit, I have serious reservations about buying PES2013, especially if its going to cost anything over £20. I might rent it for a week and take it from there.

Ali

It is happening again
Some good news for ps3 players at least - you can now group copy all those pesky OF files instead of copying each one individually!

The Demo's are notoriously unreliable though gents. The games are patched to fuck over the course of their tenure.

True, but demos do give you an insight on what too expect for the final game. They are very similar though so if you enjoyed the demo, theres a high chance of enjoying the final product

I totally agree Sminky...it all boils down to scaling. Currently the Fox engine is only a work in progress. Pictures cannot replace actual game play. Also, Microsoft and Sony have both announced that they have no intentions of creating a new console any time soon. We will be doomed if we are waiting for the fox engine on the newer consoles.

I hope I am not the only one who realizes that PES is currently running on the PS2 engine and the developers are now just addressing the issue after years of disappointment. Furthermore the new engine isn't anywhere near ready since all they have are screenshots to show us at this point.

For me ...this means that PES 2013 will still be running on the PS2 engine. Not eager to see that this year either...:crymore:
