I really am sorry for liking a game, but you don't need to hate on me because you people don't. We all have our own opinions, calling me out in a separate thread for liking the game you don't is just immature (markcross or whatever your name is). I don't like games like Gears of War and Halo, but you don't see me going on those forums and just continuously slating the game and the people that play them.

If you don't like the game, swiftly move on and come back next year. Simple.

im 45 a true football fan and have played footy games since the zx spectrum,
i want the simulation style football true to life,
this year as always i have fifa14 and pes 2014.
fifa beats pes massively hands down in every aspect from menus to game modes.
but the thing that matters the actual gameplay PES takes the award.
as much as i like the masses of fifa game modes, they are all useless if the gameplay isnt realistic and up to scratch.
so in terms of the actual football which is what we should be buying the game for PES
is far superior.
NOW IF KONAMI can rework everything thats of the pitch we would have a game to be proud of

I didn't even lose a single game yet in pes and i play on top player since the start, won like 40, drawn 2 and my opinion is mostly negative ( alltho the potential is clearly there ), so its not like im bad at the game cuz my opinion is different.
Also zip it with ur changes bs, changes as changing the core game fine, but changes in terms of REMOVING FEATURES that were VERY POSITIVELY looked upon is just plain d*mb.

But it is true, it's not bullshit. Every single year people complain about changes in the game. It's obvious that due to the new engine and getting the game to become playable hindered some of the features. I am also a bit annoyed at this, especially the stadium edits, however the core game itself is fine on PC (in my opinion). I respect that some people do not like it, however most of the negatives seem to be from those who own it on consoles.

Not really, some things are just not understandable. For example how come you have no normal jog in this game? If you use directional keys you move VERY SLOWLY, and then if u press RB you run, theres no inbetween speed which is quite disapointing, if Pes would add for example different speeds to movement ( like the strenght that you press directional keys determines the speed ), it would make the game much better overall, and you would have much more variability in what you can do.

One example I guess so you can see what im talking about.

I understand that, and have complained about it also. They took away the R2 function of which I used about 80% of the time during games to beat players. However after playing it for a day or so, I noticed that in fact the players move in a way where it is like you are holding down R2. (Does that make sense?)

I wish there was the 3 different types of movement speed still, but you get used to it after a while. In fact that was one of the major factors that I hated about the new game, but have learned the new mechanics and I like it; It's not amazing as I have played the same way the past what 16 years? lol - but it is still good once you get used to it.

EDIT: Move slowly? No you don't? Using the sticks you move fine?

It is amazing how you can only find negative reviews of the game and when you look at the pool results on various sites including this one you will find that over 40% of the members think that pes 14 is great and little over 25 thinks that it is very good, but I guess that these 10% that think it is shit write and post more than the others. I find amusing that there are people that read almost every post and reply to every single positive review of the game. I wonder what they do for living and how they find the time to do it. It is the same every year and with every pes game.

The usual trolls or fake fans say they've played every PES game or different type of game depending on the franchise then say oh this is the worse game ever and is dead!! Only because in reality they love FIFA or some other rival more but will never admit it and just lie to get people on their side!!

Most of the problems with PES 2014 like Lags, Online and Slowness can be fixed via patches and if you hate PES so much now then go to the EA Forum and praise your FIFA instead of creating worthless threads here!!

I dont understand why you needed to write this thread, one positive thing about that PES still sells is these fans that are buying it blindly, what are you trying to gain by maybe making a thread that discourages maybe 1 less person to buy the next installment. The game selling to the oblivious fans just means we get another attempt at getting a better PES next year, ie there really isnt any alternatives to FIFA anyway which has a lifetime of 2 weeks in single player then every game feels the same and you start noticing you can abuse the AI in some way to easily win every match from then on.

I was once those that wondered why the hell this franchise still sells i personally only bought PES 11 in this console generation and while it was playable in the beginning i started noticing things that kept reocurring the more i played it thus killing it in the end (ie. players chasing a opponent ball to the throw in line thus touching it and giving the opposition the throw in like a idiot) this happened alot in PES 11 for example and is prob what i will always remember it for.

Now i dont give a damn anymore, the game still sells solid thanks to these fans and it means we get another chance to play a better PES although it never happens this is a good thing and you should not try making a thread in a desperate attempt to convert people not to buy it. I hope this topic wont jinx it and be the start of the demise of the franchise though, but with my luck it probably will. Hopefully PES 15 will be a good game but for now.. its back to either PES 6 or Senbsible Soccer 95/96!!!

I have hated the past 3 games (only played demos of PES 2013 and 2014... but it was enough to make my mind up). Does that make me a fake or a troll? No it doesn't! Does it make me a Fifa fanboy? No it doesn't. I haven't owned a Fifa game since 2001.
So you can get off your fanboy horse for a moment, and accept that a lot of fans have become disillusioned with the franchise in the past few years.

The one unavoidable truth for me is that in the past couple of years the "PES Rage" thread has been one of, if not the, busiest and most visited threads on this site and the "smug fanboy" types all but disappear after a couple of months when majority opinion starts to swing against them. In fact in a lot of cases they switch over to the other side.

I haven't played PES 2014 yet because the days of me blindly buying PES on release day are long gone thanks to the, in my opinion, lowering of standards in PES across this entire generation of tech. I will rent it before deciding on whether to buy it or not just like I did with PES 2013, which I decided not to buy because it was absolute horseshit.

No one cares how long you've been playing PES, how many posts you have in here or how many years you've been gaming. It doesnt give your opinion any more credence than anyone else's in here.

PS It has always been a source of amusement/bafflement to me how some people take critcism of PES so personally yet when you level the "fanboy" argument at them they become unbelieveably indignant and defensive. How else are we supposed to define someone who has no emotional, professional or financial attachment to Konami yet explode with rage whenever someone critcises one of their products? Weird.

I dont think that was aimed at you... I think what he was trying to say is that people try to justify their opinion by saying "Oh I've played it since ISS". But what does that really matter? So what if the first PES I played was PES2 and the first one I owned was PES5 (I used to go to my cousin's house to play 2,3,4). Does that make my opinion invalid?
