..........and every year we hear shit like this from fans like yourself.

Why can't we discuss Fifa?

Isn't Fifa also a football game just like PES?

Why can't we compare them both to see why one is doing a lot better than the other?

Why should we choose to ignore the bit pink elephant in the room. (Fifa)

Are we adults or are children here? Why would anyone be offended just because one choose to mention another developer who is kicking the ass of the one he likes.

Shouldn't this be the an avenue to discuss why PES is falling behind a title that it was once ahead of?

Or do we just jump all over anyone who chooses to call a shitty game ....well for lack of a better word ......shit.

Dribbling is a disaster, shooting is floaty, Frame rate is deplorable, refs are blind, Defenders are ball watching, Catch up Bugs, unable to out run slower opponents, speed demons blazing runs at 100mph to catch attackers, button lag, horrific animations, players caught up in a stupid animation which we are unable to stop, player button switch problems, bad commentary, models removed....and i could go on.

...and we dare to say this game is realistic? More than Fifa :shocking:
are we fucking serious? :shocking:

Fifa sure isn't a true to life sim of football ....but it sure as hell DOES NOT suffer from these growing pains.

We must discuss Fifa in terms of where they are compared to this lackluster half arsed game that Konami is feeding us....and I am pretty sure that they would not want us to compare PES to Fifa ..

....because at this point there is very little to compare. Fifa works ...PES doesn't. Period! Well .....not without fans stepping to help Konami out with patches and tutorials.

So now.....I as "the sheep" is now expected to

1) Find some magic Tutorial for the gameplay problems ....How to dribble, how to fix the catch up bug, How to shoot, How to patch the game, how to download the new patch. (check this forum) ....

2) Wait for Jenkey to bring out his patch (soon to be released)

3) Make excuses for this lame as game ....hoping that ....(wait for it)
NEXT YEAR all the issues will be fixed.:w00t

Meanwhile Fifa is running as smooth as butter with millions of millions playing and enjoying the game .....while we sit here and scream

DONT DISCUSS FIFA.....THIS IS A PES FORUM!:realmad:

:erm:

Really now?

I will forever keep discussing Fifa since it is the only other option to PES.

mzer - it seems you're the only one who truly believes in 2014. Have you not played the early pes games, the ISS games? To know how high our expectations are, to be given this broken game. It's really a slap in the face to the fans. ITS BROKE.

I actually have, and while they were fun back then they are still crap today. You have too high expectations and a decade of disappointment clearly hasn't taught you a valuable lesson.

hmmmm id say your bordering on another whinge within a whinge there pal...

So you read my post yet understood none of it? No problem.

OCKRASS:

I didnt say we cant discuss FIFA, I'm all for a reasoned debate between FIFA and PES players and I enjoy reading the comparisons.
My point was that we have this argument every year and it always, ALWAYS descends into childish accusations and insults after about 5 posts. Not to mention the fact it's an argument that can never be won or lost by either camp.

The fact is that some people like FIFA and some people like PES. Why this fact annoys some people to the point of name calling is beyond me.

It so happens that I agree with most of OCKRASS' points about the PES series on this gen of tech although FIFA aint all that either IMO.

It's a shame that valid points get lost amongst the name calling and accusations of "whingeing". That's what I'm saying.

I agree with you that the name calling always side tracks or completely ends the discussion when threads are closed.

I am guilty of name calling .....but i try not to do it too often.

As I have stated before...my problem with PES does not lay with its fans....its Konami/Seabass that i despise.

Within a forum such as Pesgaming, there are really no arguments to be won or lost....it should be a discussion. Of course this brings opinions from all over and not everyone will agree.

I like Pesgaming because they have tried to remain unbiased in the discussion of where PES growth or lack thereof ...is today.

I have been banned from another site for just mentioning the word Fifa.

- Master League is dumbed down a lot from last years installment, coaches are the main thing I miss, along with the individual training items and boots.

That's funny. Not because of you, but because I have seen a lot of people complaining about that, and guess of what they were complaining in 2013? That it had too many cut scenes with the managers, the training items and mostly the boots.

So, you can never have people happy

Exactly. PES players just love to whine, it's fact. Every year it the same, 3-6 months after release it is the best thing since sliced bread.

It's a matter of opinion whether one believes FIFA is running "as smooth as butter". You're entitled to agree with it. Others are entitled to disagree with it. I happen to fall within the latter category.

Millions may be playing FIFA, but how many are playing predominantly online. How many are playing Ultimate Team almost exclusively. How many are purely interested in 11 v 11 or Be a Pro. FIFA offers far more features and modes. That is a good thing. It is also one of its main selling points, alongside its licenses.

It's a different story when we talk about the offline experience that each game offers, completely irrespective of any other mode, or feature. For a great deal of gamers who are interested in a single player campaign mode FIFA is still a lackluster offering. An offering that can be bettered upon by adjusting the sliders, and modifying the tactics of teams. Similar to what fans of PES have always done.

FIFA is very good, unless you're looking to play against the out-of-the-box AI in single player. With a degree of slider tweaking, and tactic editing it gets better. Player individuality is, and always has been poor.

PES is good, unless you're looking for something more than a single player experience. With a few community option files the single player experience becomes a lot better, and I believe superior to what FIFA can offer in that specific area. Player individuality is there is spades, as it always has been.

FIFA no doubt wins the war. Nevertheless, PES wins a few specific battles that are still key to many of us.

FIFA is running as smooth as butter but its pretty shit now. Doesnt feel close to football anymore, it seemed like 10/11 were getting there then they sold out by releasing the same game over and over. The thing is, it feels, I dont know, but I was laughing when I played the demo! The players reminded me of cartoons, the whole thing seemed too perfect and glossy.

I was not a fan of PES this year at all and still cant play it online (too slow animations), but offline against CPU or human is probably the best experience ive had since PES02. Absolutely love it! Feels grittier than FIFA and slower but this is a good thing! Football isnt usually Barca silky, it can be for brief moment but most of the time its not. I feel like they have captured this.

Some tweaks can be made and hear they are putting a patch out late Oct/Nov, looking forward to this!

Waiting....
I've not bothered with the last two PES games, but I'm planning on getting PES 2014. The demo felt good and the final build tends to be better, so I'm hoping for the best.

FIFA 14 is great against humans (online or in person), but playing the CPU is infuriating and so disappointing. Every team plays the same way - dribble by turning on the spot a few times and then long through pass to the striker, who will always find space, mainly because defenders don't think it's their duty to track strikers. I've read similar complaints about PES (through balls), but hopefully it's not as extreme as FIFA.

Yep, in FIFA you can easily win with long trough ball because defenders are always up. And that was also with PES 2013 a little bit, you can score doing that. Not with this one. It's harder, and I think that's why some people is complaining, just because they are not winning :w00t

I'm an offline gamers, strictly, when it comes to sports games. I don't have PES 14 YET (plan on getting it when it drops in price a bit), but what I can tell you is FIFA 14 offline is one of the most infuriating games I've played of any genre. AI is just plain fucked up, no other way to put it. I could put up with FIFA 13 but this is just anther level of anger.. I'm normally reserved but even I can't handle this. Already listed it for sale on a site, done with it.

Winger hit the nail on the head, for us single player gamers it's just a shitty game. AI is braindead, Dragonfly also hit the nail on the head in regards to the CPU AI, it's awful and every team plays the same. Player Career is barebones. You could make the argument of tweak your sliders yada yada but the amount of tweaking that game needs to be enjoyable after you pay your $60 fee is grounds for EA to offer you a paying job. What happened to the days of difficulties being good enough straight out the box?

LOL this might seem like a straight bitch fest of a thread but every page sums up most of my feelings.

http://answers.ea.com/t5/FIFA-14/Why-is-FIFA-14-bad/m-p/1565633

Also, if you have FIFA and know what I'm talking about, here's some random dudes videos from another sports gaming forum to rekindle the hatred..

http://www.youtube.com/user/worldrevolver1/videos

I'm hoping when I pick up PES 14 (I'll just enjoy PES 13 in the meantime), that, being an offline gamer, I'll get my enjoyment out of it. Speaking of which, how's Become A Legend? I'm guessing whatever they put out it's better than anything EA ever did for Be A Pro.

Great discussion ...but i highlighted one the points that rebounds over and over. You are not prepared to use sliders in Fifa but you are ok with the doing much more editing with PES?

Fifa offline is much different from PES .....again for me it plain and simple works. PES does not. I don't get the logics behind naming multiple things wrong with PES AI, animations, Refs, Bugs etc.....and then say that it is better than a game that does not suffer from these atrocities.

I understand and see why many PES players do not like Fifa single player modes....thats fine with me. For me ....once a game is broken at its core, it cannot be played either offline or online. But the love for something always lowers one's level of tolerance ...and also vice versa.

Now let get to your vid links. Of course Fifa suffers some annoyances but ....not none as horrid as these.

To be honest neither PES and FIFA look like winners this year. It almost seems after comparing the 2 for a solid week and a half or so of retail gameplay that both games share many of the same problems. But, hopefully Konami can release a solid update, reading around PES forums though it seems Konami's updates never quite seem to suffice.

That is spot on.

It always makes me laugh when someone comes on with a list of problems that PES or FIFA has when 9 times out of 10 the game they are not slagging off has exactly the same problems!

I think my own rage regarding PES comes from the fact that I used to be an avid fan of the series but it has gone badly downhill and Konami appear to have completely lost the plot with regards to what they put in, what they take out and what they outright refuse to change/fix year after year.

I'm probably a tad easier on the FIFA games because they haven't let me down as badly as PES has. PES used to be a fantastic series whereas FIFA has always been kinda "meh" so, for me, playing a piss poor PES game is always going to enrage me a lot more than playing a piss poor FIFA game because I expect so much more from PES.

I have to give FIFA credit where it's due, at least it has tried to evolve over this generation of tech whereas the game with the word "evolution" actually in it's fucking title hasn't really evolved at all. It been directionless and completely random changes every year from Konami which have mostly just confused and annoyed the regular customers.

Maybe the next generation of tech will produce another golden age of footy games but on current evidence I have to say I doubt it. This generation of tech has been a bit of a write off for me which has meant, like the last poster said, it's always been a case of "the lesser of two evils" when choosing what football game I want to play.

Coming on here to argue about whether PES is better than FIFA or that FIFA is better than PES is like arguing about whose freshly laid turd stinks the least.
