PES14 is dead.. Sorry guys

The reason people say they have played pes from iss when talking in a post is usually down to the fact when they make a negative comment on pes14, someone tells them they are a FIFA fan boy, so they feel they have to make a point of pointing out NO, they have probably been playing the franchise longer than you, not the other way around. Thinking people would say that when they are really FIFA fans is delluded, who is going to sign up to a PES site just to bash a game as a FIFA fan? You'd have to be pretty sad.

It is happening again
Sorry pal I am neutral when it comes to video games but truly there are a lot of fake people who just makes threads to bash one game when they don't know what they're talking about and you can tell so sorry but people lie a lot today more than ever.

I still have all the FIFA from 2001 as I lost 2000 but have 95 for Mega Drive will get FIFA 14 next week and have all the PES games since 1 and I have ISS for N64, had the PS2 version too the first ISS.

There's absolutely no reason for them to lie. If they don't like the game, they have a right to say so. Doesn't make them fake. I don't see how it affects you? If you love the game, great! But don't belittle those who don't like it (of which there are plenty).

I dont think that was aimed at you... I think what he was trying to say is that people try to justify their opinion by saying "Oh I've played it since ISS". But what does that really matter? So what if the first PES I played was PES2 and the first one I owned was PES5 (I used to go to my cousin's house to play 2,3,4). Does that make my opinion invalid?

I know it wasn't aimed at me. It just irks me when people claim you must be a Fifa fanboy if you don't like PES .... and brushing off their complaints saying they can be fixed with patches.

Everybody has a right to an opinion about the game, and I don't see why they'd lie about playing since the good ol' days to get people "on their side". I was basically saying that I'm on of those who played back in the day, and I now hate it.... so that automatically makes me a fake trolly Fifa fanboy now does it? Riiiiiiiiight.

I've also played practically all PES and Fifa games on the PC... Including some GBA games via an emulator (the Japanese GBA Winning Eleven is great). And including the last PSX PES games, which were particularly good. Fifa'98 was great, but then things went downhill, and somewhere around 2002-2003 EA did a total engine reboot. They released an unplayable game. Around the same time, one could get PES2002 PSX running on an emulator, and soon thereafter Konami released PES3. That was one of the best games I had ever seen.

I've stuck to PES since then - some years the game is better (PES3, 5-6 and PES~12 were pretty good), and some years less than better (PES4 and PES2008 spring to mind), but on the overall it's been a great run from Konami. I also try the current Fifa once in a while, and I noticed that about 4-5 years ago, EA simply ripped off as much as they could from PES. Which improved the quality of Fifa, but not by enough.

I thought of playing the demo of Fifa'14, but it's a hassle installing the thing via "Origin," and so I just loaded up a gameplay video on YouTube. And I lost all desire to play - the animations look wooden, and the players stay in formation at all times unless the ball comes near them. I don't want to play that...

Between the new engine, the new generation of consoles, and the annual deadline, the PES team must have been under a lot of pressure. All in all, I'm impressed with their effort. I think some of the critics of the game are exaggerating a bit. PES2014 is not broken and "dead" - it's just glitchy and unpolished. Unfortunate, but that's how things work.

Fifa did more than rip pes off, they stole two of PES's main developers, thats why there was such a rise in FIFA, PES was actually the more popular game at the time...

WAT DA FAQ..:shocking:

You are taking a piss right now ....right? :(

Because if you are not .....there must be a gas leak in your home or something bro......

Because you are talking some crazy unrealistic, made up, delusional stuff here bra...

"Over the course KONAMI slowly improved their craft and in PES 14 they FINALLY nailed IT." .....

Have you read the feedback from other fans here? Because it seems to me that majority of them have a completely different outlook on PES2014.

"PES was always aimed for somewhat mature players. Players who don't care about graphics, stadiums, boots, etc RATHER gameplay."

"The things you mention 90% of true PES players won't give a fuck about."

 Uh Uhhh..not true again!

Fans do care about graphics, stadiums boots etc.....however because of Konami's shitty release year after year, and not being able to create a fully complete game...some fans have lowered their expectations ...and are now begging Konami to get at least the basic gameplay correct......but they have not!

Think about it ...how can you mention the word "realistic" if the game is missing these important features?

"Some glitches that people complain HAD to be there period. This is how video gaming companies make money. If they release a PERFECT game, how on fucking earth will they continue to make money and release next titles ? This is not SCARFACE or GODFATHER where the movie stays permanently the best of all times. KONAMI are doing this because they have to, period."

I cannot see how anyone of a sound and healthy mental state of mind can think or even rationalize this statement. Ridiculous!

"PES 14 for the first time EVER, offers true manual passing with ADVANCED PASSING, it offers TRUE 360 degree movement which gives you ONE OPTION OF PLAY: PURE SIMULATION. You are SIMULATING what you see on TV and what you see real footballers do on the pitch."

"It is slow gameplay that requires basic but high IQ of football. This is where MATURITY hits you. Mature players WANT TO PLAY A GAME LIKE THIS, while younger players like yourself care more about transfers, boots, graphics, how many stadiums the game has ETC...ETC.."

:shocking:

"But PES 14 hands down, without a doubt, is the best PES Konami ever released REALISTICLY wise." :shocking:

I rest my case and hopefully you learned something from professor sabh.

"REALISTICLY" ??....as a mature person.......i hope you realize that ....that is not a word.....right?

OOOHHhhhhh K..... I give up.

peace
Couldn't agree more... PES2013 was the best for me but this year has been a major disappointment. It might be the first time in 12 years that I 've had enough. I 've bought PES2014 and played arround 40 games and then went and tried FIFA2014 demo and must say in MY OPINION wins hands down this year.

I have played PES/ISS from 'ISS Pro Evolution Soccer' through to 'PES 2011' (with the exception of PES 2008). I have hated the past 3 games (only played demos of PES 2013 and 2014... but it was enough to make my mind up). Does that make me a fake or a troll? No it doesn't! Does it make me a Fifa fanboy? No it doesn't. I haven't owned a Fifa game since 2001.
So you can get off your fanboy horse for a moment, and accept that a lot of fans have become disillusioned with the franchise in the past few years.

Again.. well said

I refuse to buy pes2014 until the gameplay issues are fixed and they add stadiums and faces. I'm playing pes2013 until then. I've tried the FIFA 2014 demo and it's just not fun. Every game feels the same and the players kind of all look and feel th same. Using neymar Messi or iniesta makes no difference at all. I just can't get myself to play FIFA. Just not the same as pes. Please konami fix pes2014!!!!

I guess you don't truly understand how far people would go to lie about these and other things. Why did he even mention licensing as far as I am concerned whenever did PES have lots of licensing despite PES 13 being the most licensed of all their games??

Moaning about things that can be fixed by Konami like the face update has already been mention coming soon, there is 19 stadiums but have to hope more will come and talking about FIFA 14 and why people want to play FIFA over licensing and transfer updates doesn't sound like he likes PES as much as he says he does as gameplay is what always mattered in game.

So he has been playing PES for years then he knows there are option files and yes transfer updates will come later, but he doesn't like it then he can play his FIFA 14.

Even though PES 2014 isn't perfect but you have to give them credit for the hard work they have done to create this new engine and provide a new experience for the future.

i think all this arguing and moaning is because the expectations of this game were so high, and in my opinion the game is the best weve had, but the community has been let down on a massive scale by konami, when u purchase a new game you want to actually play it not wait over a week for a datapack to be fixed just so u can go online. and then as good as the gameplay is there is so much that has been left out we have lost 40 odd stadiums, YES 40 plus stad editor, online for those who can get on theres no linesman no camera option and many complaints of lag and button delay.
leaving camera options out after finally finding out we have custom camera this year is disgraceful.
with all these removals im suprised they decided to include the ball

Btw what do you guys think about the finesse shot? So far im pretty much using normal shot most of the time, since finesse seems to be underpowered to me. Like if I shoot 10 shoots with a normal shots I score 6-7 goals, if I shoot with finesse shot im lucky if I score 1.

I don't think my expectations for this year's PES were inordinately high, which is just as well really.

I'm really struggling to get any enjoyment from playing it tbh. I've had it a week now and the common theme in every match is how I have to battle with the game rather than the opposition. Every single action seems to bring up problems and it's like everything I've learned from playing PES over the years counts for nothing.

I appreciate that Konami have attempted to revolutionise the series but it feels like they've thrown the baby out with the bathwater. Rather than build on the excellence of last year's game they've tried to overhaul it completely and we, the players, are bearing the brunt.

I haven't played a FIFA game in about 15 years but I might be left with no choice other than to switch if PES 14's multitude of issues aren't ironed out asap.

good post, i feel the same, konami claimed that this new fox engine (which apparently was made a few years ago for a shooter game) was going to create amazing ball physics but i just cant see it due to the gameplay being so frustratingly slow and unresponsive, and thats offline, the online mode is simply unplayable, there is no control over the player or what the team does, especially when you compare it to pes2013.

FIFA has never ever been an option for me, I never even think about it. I'm a true pes fan. But, I will not buy this game if it's crap. The only pes game I didn't purchase, was pes 2012. And now pes 2014.

I have played Fifa/PES/Actua Soccer all my life, I joined this forum in 2004... and you ask me if I have played the earlier games? lol

It's not broke, you are just bad at it. Like I said on another thread, PES Fans are just crying babies when it comes to changes, it happens every year. Last year was no different either, then all of a sudden 2013 is the most perfect PES game? Give me a break.

Nope, I have just played more than one game and have got used to the new control system. I enjoy the game and think it is one of the best PES games to date. Sorry for having an opinion though that doesn't match your own or these other crying babies.

I've played semi-pro soccer here in the states, i don't suck at it, I just think it's a boring game compared to what pes is known for.

I was an old member on PESInsight which is now this, PESGaming. I haven't bothered to register again mainly because a lot of my friends, PES Vets, patchers, editors left etc, mostly stay at Evo-Web but because of this IDIOTIC, STUPID, ARROGANT post I couldn't hold my tongue and signed up and now decided to reply back to this NOOB, yes NOOB, amateur PES Gamer who apparently thinks he is some ELITE player.

Let me enlighten you kid now.

PES or Winning Eleven was never known for flashy graphics, proper licenses or updated transfers. It gained popularity solely because of its GAMEPLAY.

Your list of complaints about PES 14 is so laughable it's not even funny. You complain because Bale is not in Madrid, or certain players don't look the way they're supposed to in real life, and just because of those few details YOU, the CHOSEN ONE, the freaking POPE thinks the game is totally broken ? Really, ??

PES was always aimed for somewhat mature players. Players who don't care about graphics, stadiums, boots, etc RATHER gameplay.

What made SWOS esp SWOS 96/97 on AMIGA so successful ? To this very day, this RETRO game has more players, tournaments worldwide than PES/FIFA combined ...no you didn't know that did you....what did SWOS offer ? Great graphics right..realistic looking faces, animations ETC. No retard, it offered SIMPLE quick addictive gameplay.

Now, football games have changed over the decade. 2D was/is outdated and 3D is in full control.. While PES/WE was heavily the king of football gaming in PS2 era, when it first debuted on what was next gen now current gen (PS3, XBOX360) it was shit, yes. Even I admit. And I am bigger guru than you'll EVER be when it comes to PES. PES on PS3/360 was arcade shit show with broken gameplay. Over the course KONAMI slowly improved their craft and in PES 14 they FINALLY nailed IT.

The things you mention 90% of true PES players won't give a fuck about. So quit saying PES 14 is broken because Bale is not in Madrid or you can't recognize some of your lovers in the game.

PES14 while not a perfect game, is a HUGE step to what made PES famous and that is the gameplay. There is a reason why this game is gaining momentum day by day. Let's face it. Some glitches that people complain HAD to be there period. This is how video gaming companies make money. If they release a PERFECT game, how on fucking earth will they continue to make money and release next titles ? This is not SCARFACE or GODFATHER where the movie stays permanently the best of all times. KONAMI are doing this because they have to, period.

Even the greatest PES of all times (pes5) had its own faults and I remember people whining about this and that but as time went by they started to like the game more and more).

Now let's look back:

PES5/WE9LE (Korean PES 5 that was polished for 6+months) were a mixture between simulation and arcade. It was fun to play because it offered a realistic VISUAL of how a football game should be played. BUT, it also offered arcade style of play with ping pong fast, accurate passes, limited 8 directional movement, which in REALITY is not a REAL FOOTBALL.

What KONAMI and EA as well are trying to achieve is full, 360 deg SIMULATION gameplay. This is where KONAMI beat EA in 2014 with PES 14.

FIFA 14 and even FIFA hardcore fans will admit that so far nothing has changed. BUT PES14 took a huge lead over FIFA 14 in following ways:\

- FIFA 14 still has its simulation BUT also was injected with a heavy dose of arcade. What I'm talking about you might ask yourself ? That is SPEED and PING PONG PASSES. FIFA 14 is very fast and "get to the point type of game" While it offers SIMULATION it doesn't prove the player with CREATIVITY which REAL FOOTBALL should offer you.

PES 14 for the first time EVER, offers true manual passing with ADVANCED PASSING, it offers TRUE 360 degree movement which gives you ONE OPTION OF PLAY: PURE SIMULATION. You are SIMULATING what you see on TV and what you see real footballers do on the pitch.

It is slow gameplay that requires basic but high IQ of football. You have to pass pass pass and pass more. Create chances. It's a CHESS GAME btw you and your opponent. You won't score long range screamers all the time, none of that fancy bullshit. This is where MATURITY hits you. Mature players WANT TO PLAY A GAME LIKE THIS, while younger players like yourself care more about transfers, boots, graphics, how many stadiums the game has ETC...ETC..

This game is not for you my friend. Stick with PS4 and FIFA.

PES 14 is far from perfect but its ON THE RIGHT TRACK to being ELITE like it was before.

I've played all footie games you can imagine. SWOS 96/97 was fun and I still play it on my PC (Online) with updated squads thanks to sensiblesoccer.de guys.

I still have WE9LE with JIMBOS EDITION PES5 Club Patch. FANTASTIC GAME.

But PES 14 hands down, without a doubt, is the best PES Konami ever released REALISTICLY wise.

Try to play all MANUAL and tell me if you like it. If you don't then you don't belong on these forums my friend.

I rest my case and hopefully you learned something from professor sabh.
Well said, bro. You said what I was gonna say. I moved from FIFA(Had played FIFA 09—13,five years on PS3) to PES2014 solely for the simulation of the real experience. PES 2014 is still a game that needs to be polished but it is certainly on the RIGHT track.
