When they said Ultimate Team was better than Master League I couldn't stop laughing.

The mode is good yeah (Would be better if the EA/Origin servers didn't suck arse), but Master League is so much better. I like the fact players change as they age, teams change each year via transfers and stuff. Whereas in Fifa everything is static, players are the same every year with no change in stats or retirements.

Plus the review is probably 80% correct, however they are playing on Beginner (by the looks of things) and on the 360. They should have reviewed the PC version as it seems to be the better version.

Master league is miles better, it's just a shame they have taken out loads of good features, they need to patch some back in, because it is quite annoying.

boots was ok when it was only cup matches, when they made it every match, It wound me right up lol, I preferred it when we used to negotiate the transfers... back in 2011 or whatever it was

i like ping pong style , were i can play really well with my mates even when we are all really drunk and have a laugh.... i dont mind pes 2014 though but its not the same..

however i think the point Bhola is, has to do with konamis strategy with this game... tranfers are not really that important?.. actually.. no they are not. never the less it is a good marketing slogan, special when the rival brand doesnt have them up to date. The thing is.. if it were only transfers.. thats only the tip of the iceberg.. the sensation i get 40 seconds into the game is that its not finished... and i not talking about bale...

If is pretty clear to me that you do not play Fifa.....what do you mean by servers suck arse? Fifa runs on a server that is a gazillion times better than that pathetic thing Konami serves to its sheeps.

For your info ...there is no " year after year" in Ultimate Team. You buy and trade players and compete......it is that simple. There is no retirements. This is because Fifa is more realistic. Messi isnt retiring anytime soon ....so why?

Maybe you also need to read more of what is being said on the forums here about this shit of a game called PES 2014. The game is unfinished and horrible. Fifa is finished and playable in all formats and regions. No contest here bro ...Fifa wins again!

I play Fifa every year, I regret buying it last year though. I only play Ultimate team and I it is a regular occurrence to be disconnected from the servers and lose any ultimate team progression. Which does suck arse.

I do not play PES online, I have said this multiple times, so I cannot comment on the servers.

You buy and trade players until you have the team you want and then all you have to do is buy contracts. So yes, after a while you keep the same team and it is boring. No stats change, no retirements... nothing. It's crap.
Fifa is more realistic? So you are saying after about 20 seasons, players not aging is realistic? lol. Gimme some of that non aging juice please OCKRASS.

There is already a rage thread about the game, so there was no need for another one to be created.

Things wrong with PES this year.

- Lack of Stadiums (apparently there is about 16 slots for stadiums to be added so they could come in DLC packs or if you are on PC people can make them).
- Refs are biased. The refs at times can be very biased and give fouls against you for the best of challenges, it is annoying but you have to tackle when you know for certain you will get the ball cleanly, otherwise you will give away a foul.
- AI through ball exploit. There is almost nothing you can do about this if the AI pulls it off against you. Just hope your keeper manages to save it.
- Master League is dumbed down a lot from last years installment, coaches are the main thing I miss, along with the individual training items and boots.

So no, I don't just have positives to say about PES this year, but it is far from shit. These babies on this forum keep crying because the game (of which some haven't even bought) has changed and they are failing to adapt to change (as it is EVERY year, until a few months after then all of a sudden it is the best PES game to date).

Long time PES fan here. I have played every Konami release since ISS Pro 98. I put countless hours of my life into every subsequent release thereafter, until PES 2009. I then found myself preferring the games that EA released, from FIFA 10 through to FIFA 13. Those four iterations of FIFA were head and shoulders above what Konami presented with PES 2010 through to PES 2013, in my humble opinion. I tried them all. I disliked them all.

It is only with PES 2014 that I find myself enjoying the Konami flavor of football once more. FIFA 14 is very similar to FIFA 13 which had too many imbalances within its core gameplay to be sustainable for fans of single-player career modes. The gameplay is too fast, too arcade orientated, and players lack any real sense of individuality, irrespective of what their attributes say. PES 2014 has solid gameplay. It is enjoyable and at the same time captures the realism of the game, in respect to player movement, player momentum, and a players form, as well as emotions. Players are also markedly unique from one another.

I have not yet decided whether I like the (optional) advanced through ball, or the (optional) advanced shooting, but at least Konami are trying something new, something fresh, with an aim to bring more control into the hands of us, the player.

The gameplay is good, but it is not perfect. Teams do benefit from tweaks to their preset tactics, so every side is not set up to play quick-counter football with a high defensive line. That is PES all over though, and it always has been. The foundations are solid, but the variables are not quite optimized out of the box. Give it time.

Stadiums don't affect gameplay. Faces don't affect gameplay. Kits don't affect gameplay. Club names do not affect gameplay. They're nice bells and whistles to have, most definitely, and as has always been the case with PES there are fantastic editors out there who work wonders to implement them all correctly. Have patience.

There appears to be a contrast between the console versions, and the PC release. I purchased PES 2014 for the PC. It looks great. It plays great. I haven't updated to the latest patch, nor downloaded any data packs or option files. I'm running the out of the box 1.00 game and enjoying it. I will update and download if and when a solid patch presents itself. At present I am having a lot of fun with the on the field action, which is where it matters most, for me.

Dribbling is a disaster, shooting is floaty, Frame rate is deplorable, refs are blind, Defenders are ball watching, Catch up Bugs, unable to out run slower opponents, speed demons blazing runs at 100mph to catch attackers, button lag, horrific animations, players caught up in a stupid animation which we are unable to stop, player button switch problems, bad commentary, models removed....and i could go on.

Fifa sure isn't a true to life sim of football ....but it sure as hell DOES NOT suffer from these growing pains.

We must discuss Fifa in terms of where they are compared to this lackluster half arsed game that Konami is feeding us....and I am pretty sure that they would not want us to compare PES to Fifa ..

....because at this point there is very little to compare. Fifa works ...PES doesn't. Period! Well .....not without fans stepping to help Konami out with patches and tutorials.

So now.....I as "the sheep" is now expected to

1) Find some magic Tutorial for the gameplay problems ....How to dribble, how to fix the catch up bug, How to shoot, How to patch the game, how to download the new patch. (check this forum) ....:no:

2) Wait for Jenkey to bring out his patch (soon to be released)

3) Make excuses for this lame as game ....hoping that ....(wait for it)
NEXT YEAR all the issues will be fixed.:w00t

Meanwhile Fifa is running as smooth as butter with millions of millions playing and enjoying the game .....while we sit here and scream
