tell Sony that, all i was say is that it not confirmed

Well, I'm guessing that Sony don't want to encourage the importing of the US/Japanese PS3. So I'm assuming that they'll realise that they have to release it over here as quickly as possible.

I'd say that March is looking like a safe bet at the moment. ;)

Ok, does anyone have a PS3 yet here? Or is it still delayed around Europe? I haven't seen any so far in Greece or France which is pissing me off. How about in England? If so, how much do they cost? (20gb version)

It's not out in any of Europe until March 7th (at the earliest).

In a way it's a good thing, by the time it's out over here all the glitches and problems America and Japan have had should be resolved.

The 20 Gb versions are not going to be the first PS3 consoles released down here.

Sony have already announced that the first batch of PS3 consoles being sold in Europe will be the 60 Gb versions. If you want the 20 Gb version, you shall have to wait a little longer - probably around 6 months after release.

Not necessarily true. The first batch of consoles in any region always have their own set of problems.

It happened with the V3 PS2 (the very first PAL model) that was released in Europe in 2001. Lots of people reported problems.

6 months?!

Well, reasonably the 60gb version is two times the price so it's really expensive. I think the only main differences between the models is that the 60gb one has built in Wi-Fi? And ofcourse, more space for storage. But half the price, you get almost the same thing.

Do the silver ones cost more?

the silver ones were test models that may never be released, although if they are, they will probably be released in 1-2 years after launch like the silver ps2s were. and they most likely will cost more than the black ones.

20gb is only £50 cheaper than the 60gb anyway so its not that much difference in price really. may as well get wi-fi, an extra 40gb of storage and memory card readers for the extra £50.

60gb = £425
20gb = £375

although both those prices have yet to be confirmed by anyone at sony, they are what most games industry experts predict that the prices will be, and i doubt that the final prices will be too different to those.

The 60 Gb version also has built in multimedia card reader/writers.

I think Sony will eventually release an external multimedia card reader/writer for the 20 Gb version but if I was you, I'd buy the 60 Gb version so that there is no need to buy the external card writer.

One thing I'm wondering about the 20 Gb version is where the hell do you save your games if it doesn't come equipped with a card writer? Both versions of the PS3 don't have Memory Card ports either. :unsure:

just like the 360, saves go on the hard drive. if you wanted to you can use a usb memory stick, or even your psp memory stick.

The PSP Memory Stick is the Sony MagicGate Memory Stick Pro which is essentially a multimedia card just like the SD/XD/MMC/Compact Flash cards.

If the 20 Gig version can't read cards full stop; then it won't be able to read from a PSP Memory Stick. :no:

At least the USB memory stick compatability is a slight bonus.

Is that so? 50 pounds cheaper.. Not bad. In any case, the 20gb version's hardware is upgradeable right?

and remember if you buy the most expensive ps3 you can buy 2 core 360's

I bought a XBOX 360 Premium, only liked Saint's Row, thought other games exclusive to X360 were poor and PES6 on PS2 is better for Controls and Edit Mode for me, I sold my 360 to a friend and in total made a loss of £100 :w00t

:shocking: You didn't play Gears of War then?

On the PS3... I'm gonna wait it out a bit before I get one. For a start It's gonna cost a lot. MGS4 is rumoured to be coming to the 360 anyways and GTA4 is already confirmed for it too. By the time PES7 comes out on 360 there will be a full edit mode etc., and I'm getting used to the xbox controller for PES too.

So there's really not much the PS3 will have over the 360. I want to see for myself if the "difference" in power between the two is really noticeable before I buy.

Some people like to have their own opinions and in reality "The XBOX 360 is probably better than the PS3 due to its lower price and better selection of games" but like me many people still want to get a PS3 and come on...Why not? Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 will always have this "banter" for which one is better, it will be the same for PS4 and XBOX 540 :huh:

By the end of 07 and into early 08 I reckon the gaming selection for both will be very similar. If I didn't already have the XB360 I would go for the PS3... I still might :ninja: .
