I purchased a PS3 and was wondering why the demos take so long time download. I use the same connection for the 360 and it takes less time. Is it true that the demo won't download when playing online?

They have to pay for online play so they'll therefore get better speeds - when I'm downloading demo's it takes about 30 mins, which you can't grumble at.

And yes, you can't download demo's while playing a game, have to wait in the XMB.

you can download and play a game, it just depends on the game. i know you can with pro and infamous but cant with gta and ufc. definitely can not download if playing in a on-line match.

Anyone else opted to splash out on the PSN exclusive, Fat Princess? I saw a few gameplay videos and a handful of developer walkthroughs, and I just had to have it. I had great fun playing it last night. I can't wait to find another decent block of time to fire it up.

A lot of people got very excited over Fat Princess, but I really need a demo before deciding whether it's right for me. Every PSN game I've bought so far is because I've sampled it beforehand.

I was majorily pissed off that there wasn't a demo for Fat Princess but, I took the plunge and went for it. It's actually my first PSN purchase. £11.99 is the damage.

It's quite an addictive game, with a bit more depth than I would've expected. But it is not without its flaws in its current state (Titan have said that a patch is imminent). It can be troublesome to find and connect to a game. And if the host leaves and the game cannot find a suitable replacement (which is like 90% of the time) then the game ends, and everyone is kicked to the title screen. But once you find and successfully connect to a game it's a lot of fun, with that fun varying dependent on how many human players to A.I. players are on your team, and how much teamwork is actually being put in.

Gladiator mode is great for getting to grips with each of the classes and the different tactics available for each. It also pays to know that if you're in need of health and there ain't no Priests around, just find a safe area and ease off the controls until your little dude decides to sit down and eat some cake to replenish his health.

PS3 horizontal or vertical? Which is better for it?

No system should be vertical. Funny thing is Microsoft advertised their 360 vertically in their adds. Ppl did the same and their cd's were eaten up and scratched since a Cd is meant to spin horizontally. When ppl brought this up with Microsoft they quickly stopped showing the 360 vertically.

Meh, i've had mine vertical ever since I bought it and have had no problem with it at all, it saves desk space and one of the main heat vents is at the top so heat is done away with more efficiently.

I've been reading into it and they've done tests which show that heat is dispensed better when the console it placed horizontally. Meh, if it's been working fine for you then just stick to it.

Think I'm going to give my fan vents a vacuum, waaaAAy too loud at night.

Okay I have tried a quick Google search and found zilch so I'll ask here. Do any of you use PSHome? I decided to give it a try a few days ago and I got hooked on pool. Anyway I found out that you can play poker but it says you need 2000 points to play and that I have 0. How the fuck do you get points in Home?

No idea about the points, mate. I wasn't even aware of their existance! But I remember being addicted to pool and bowling on PSHome for a period. Now, though, PSHome is a forgotton flash in the pan. I'll probably give it a spin down the line, again, to see how and if they've revamped it.

I spent nearly 4 hours trying to figure out how to put in the spring on the R2 trigger. I couldn't do it. I ended up destroying 2 controllers. One for taking the spring off the Sixaxis, and then, after I put it in the DS3, I just couldn't close the back!

Sigh.

I never bother fucking with the controllers anymore, last time I did it the buttons wouldn't fit back into the outer casing :faceplm:

I've got a dualshock, it's great, but my two sixaxis controllers are fucked beyond belief thanks to too much COD4.

You lads know any good exclusives rpg's on the ps3.

I don't know any PS3-only titles, but if you haven't already, check out Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion and Fallout 3 - both have been out quite a while now so they'll be in shops at reasonable price.

Both are excellent.
