Pre-order or wait for demo/reviews?

I was just wondering if people are gonna pre-order PES 2011 this year or wait for the demo and the reviews?

I pre-ordered PES 2010 in July last year but I'm gonna be a lot more cautious this year.

If I love the demo I'll pre-order the game then I think. But I still might wait for the reviews before I part with my money.

The last few years have made me very wary of what to expect from Konami and PES.

What about other people?

I already ordered mine, £32.85 is a bargain and hopefully i'll get it a week before release like last year. To me there's no point in not pre-ordering it because i will definatley buy it anyway because i despise FIFA and need a football game.

As I've said elsewhere, I'll wait for the general reception. The media reviews for 2010 version were somewhat misleading, built more on what was new and glossing over some of the still existing pitfalls.

I actually thought the media reviews for PES 2010 were very harsh Fick. There was only really PSM3 who gave PES a favourable review.

I think Gamespot gave it a 6.5/10 which I thought was actually way too harsh. PES 2010 may have a lot of faults but it ceratinly isn't 2.5/10 behind Fifa (I believe they gave Fifa 9.0/10).

i defo wait for the review or at least the demo, anyway im pretty sure places like ASDA will be selling the game for around £28-£30 as they normally do.

I won't take notice of reviews and general media. They are misleading in every football game.
I will wait for the demo, then play it fairly and after that I will compare video footages from the demo to the full game and then decide.
I feel it's the safest and most fair way. :) Same for Fifa.

Wait until one of your friends gets it, play it, then decide for yourself. Even give rental a try.

This way, you can either wait a week or two after general release for a game you'll love, and might even be lowered in price,

OR,

You can pre-order a game, that you might hate and you will have wasted your money.

I know which one i'd rather do.

I fully agree! These days you just can't trust reviews, for any games! Take GTA IV for instance, it was far worse than GTA: San Andreas with all the stuff they took out but got perfect scores across the board...crazy.

And I won't trust reviews when EA is involved, it's well-known that some sites get paid to give great review scored, and not honest review scores.

I will download the demo, play it to death, play PES2010 for an hour, play the demo and then decide if it's worth the purchase. I won't buy FIFA this year, as I know I'll sell it after a month.

There are already reports that the whole "Personality+" thing is well implemented but not as well as most people would like...which mean, player individuality is marginally better but still not PES. But that remains to be seen!

The player individuality is a killer, as with FIFA you don't need to buy better players in MM as your current squad can do the business anyways and Be A Pro is useless, because your a football genuis from the first game!

I recently bought PES10, and although far from perfect, it's waaay more fun and better than FIFA10 IMO. So if the PES11 demo can convince me that it's a decent step-up from PES10, I'll definitely buy!

Well, it looks better than pes2010, and pes2010 lasted me this long, so yeah, i guess you can say i'm down for pre-order.

No point listening to reviews, there are pes lovers and haters out there, expect reviews ranging from "the worst installment yet " to "pure footballing brilliance" blah blah blah.... Just buy the game, its bound to be worth the investment, only you can judge if you like the game

Midnight drive to ASDA is the best bet ;)

Definitely. I probably won't buy the game when it's first released because after playing FIFA 10, recent PES's seem to be very sub-par and it would be most reliable to wait and play the demo for a while to make a concise decision.

Plus, as you say Asda usually sell games on special offer on release day, so I imagine it'll be around £28.
