I think it's too early to give a solid opinion on PES5 just yet but my main concerns for the game is that the oppositions box is always packed which means you have to hit long shots all the time and they are far easier to score. So you can win 4-0 without a striker scoring and all goals scored outside the box. Also it seems to have gone back to PES3 in terms of people's abilities, I have a game before and was using Shevchenko and I just couldn't get round one of the CB's and even on the odd occasion when I did he just caught up with me very easily and got the ball back, I made sure that I looked at the player later on as he might have been someone to look out for in the Master League and he was shite , just crap and slow , really bad stats !! just didn't get that !! :(

Pro Evo 5 is absolute amazing. Elastic420 is a Nerd. Ibrahamovic (or however u spell it i think i got it right) for Juve is absolute quality. Not on the ball but off it. Hes always seems to get into the right positions. Don't know why I told you that but if u aint Juve buy him in Master League.

p.s Pro Evo 5 is class!

Man I have cracked this game and it is easily the best one, its hard! I dunno what everyone is on about not being able to take players on... you totally can! You just can't possibly do it the same way you did on PES 4, there are ways and when you pull it off, it's fantastic!

Also, the more I play the game, the less the refs are blowing as I get used to the new defending system, it's less about holding X to press them, you must run around to the front of them and slide them to have a good chance of getting it. You at least need a manual approach to it rather than letting the computer do it for you by holding X like on PES 4.

did you ever play we9 all the ref seemed to do is blow up for petty things .But pro evo thats a different story it's like a breath of fresh air once you crack the game you get to defend better which in turn means less fouls but I agree defending this year is a art and has to be mastered before you can become great.

this game is so frustrating at the moment, i'm beginning to hate it! lol nah kidding, but its pissing me off, all my players are just fuckin slow! doesnt matter who i am, my defenders cant catch oppostion forwards and my strikers, be it van nistelrooy, ronaldo, owen just cant sprint away form defenders, wtf is that about? i'm playing on five star and its just argh annoying.

they can, keep doing the r2 tap thing to knock the ball further, it's a great manouvre

also the change of pace move has prooved mighty successful with me, slow right down and as soon as the defender gets near enough to tackle, sprint again and you'll get a bit more space, when you master it, it works I'd say about 75-80% of the time

I've read the replys and some of you are fair comment, but seriously, you cant tell me you were not let down when you put this on? Everything about it just says 'we couldnt be bothered to change things'. The stadiums, the lame kits, the awful crowd fx, the gameplay has gotten worse etc etc....
I would have just thought that after Pro evo 4 they would really step the game up a level like they have done in previous years. This isn't taking football games to another level at all. It's repeating the same old same old under a new name.
This is the first time ive been let down by a pro evo game!
WAs this game worth the wait? NO! its best if you just update pro evo 4 and save yourself some money

I'm sorry people, but this kid has a very fair and valid point.
I also think some of you need to look at yourselves and ask whether you're defending Pro Evo for the same reason as those idiots defend crappy FIFA.

It seems everyone falls into two groups -Those who support FIFA regardless, and those who pledge their allegience to Evo. Neither group however seem willing to accept any sort of criticism of their game of choice. This is a bit warped no matter how you look at it.

I am a seasoned pro evo veteran, and regard myself as a very very good player of the series so far. I've had tournaments with over 20 people, and have played it since int's inception as ISS back in the day. And, like the fella above, think that this is the first time the Pro evo series has let me down in any way.

There are/were so many things they could have done to push the bar up so much higher, yet -and through no fault of the PS2's lack of power- they have failed to do so, as I stress in my post on the first page.

Can't really argue with anything you have said there mate. I have not yet posted in this thread about my feelings about PES5 but I have done so in numerous others. As well as yourself, I see myself as a PES and ISS veteran. The thing thats really bugging me at the moment is when you see empty stands. Yeah I know its to stop slowdowns etc but its so furstrating and it takes away the realism. Also players who have a high speed rating (Henry, Owen etc) don't seem as fast as they should . The computer's centre backs seem to be just as fast as them. It feels like they are pulling me back or something. Could it be that they are pulling the shirt?. I dont think its that because I would have noticed in the replays but Henry etc should be bombing by them, not struggling to out-pace them. Im slowly bleeding myself into PES5 and when I crack it I will be hooked but at the moment its not really doing anything for me :eek:hmy:

i have the for about 3 days now and i'm really disapointed with it! For sure the graphics are better, more stadiums, a lot harder.. but there are some small things that irritate me: there's no crowd in the stadium when you play on the normal camera view, though you can hear them! when you score a goal the crowd noise is verry low! you can not edit the holland league stadiums, why? when you play master league you can't choose witch teams are participating, you always have spanish teams, italian teams, englisch teams, german teams and the other team, you'll have to choose 4 of the 5 leagues! you can't do an indirect free kick like on pes4!
so i think that i'm going back to the store and trade it back to pes4!

This game is great,i love the way they have made it more realistic and hard,i won 9-0 on 6* on pes4 and in my first 3 league games on pes5 i've won one , lost one and drawn one,i have been begging for a harder game and i love the new challenge.
