woaw! it took about 10 mins to open that page! same pics as the ones in the E3 thread so not hugely impressed by the controllers :(

and notice how "playstation 3" is in the same font as "spiderman"
Thats probably because SONY made Spiderman (the font, and the movie).

I haven't had a look at the specs for some time now, presuming they have changed... can anyone confirm whether the PS3 will have a hardrive?

I wonder if you can send stuff to the console via: bluetooth

far as i know it has a expainson slot like old ps2, thought i have heard rumors that on realse there is going to be 2 verstion, one with hard drives and one without.

i douth it, the bluetooth i belive is sololy for controlers

Teh Daily Mail sez: somewhere between £120 - £200 as it's predessesors (sp) were.

But dont get caught in the buying it for £400 or even £800 as people did with the PS2 early on.

if it's gonna be around 200 pounds it will be more than suitable for me, it's gonna be a tough battle between the xbox 360 and the ps3 but i think the ps3 will edge it

The ps3 looks alright, but I need to find out who did this mock-up...

I think that looks sweeter.

Also the pads will be sweet, its just progression, they look better in an ergonomic-sense.

Where are the vids everyone's on about from the e3 show?

The Killzone footage isn't proper PS3 stuff, apparantly that IS possible on PS3 but would take 10 years to properly make. Oh dear

"It's not in-game.

It's not the engine.

It's not even in real-time!

It's all pre-rendered.

A UK studio did the effects work on it. Seriously, the whole thing was made up."

Oh dear indeed.

I saw in the paper today that PS3 is coming Spring 2006, for £200 and it looked pretty cool.

In an ideal world yes, but the PS3 will be £300+

It's apparantly coming out in Japan for around 50,000 yen which roughly equates to $450 which, in turn, converts to roughly around £210-£240.

But with Sony bumping the PSP price up to £180 when it can be imported for around £150 I can see them keeping suit with the PS3.

Well I'm just saying what I saw in the paper and it said it was going to be £200, but who knows. Looks pretty sweet though in the chrome colour...

In a surprising twist on the next generation hardware race, a Sony representative has stated that a year 2005 release for the next generation PlayStation is a possibility. Responding to questions from Jiji news service, Sony Chief Financial Officer Takao Yuhara states, "For the year end sales season, simultaneously building up both the PlayStation Portable system in America and Europe as well as the next generation PlayStation is one option that we have."

Most industry speculation calls for a next generation PlayStation release in 2006. Sony's third party developers have backed this assumption up with a strong list of PlayStation 2 titles planned for the rest of the year and early next.
The state of the next generation PlayStation software shown at next week's E3 show should reveal if a 2005 release is a possibility for the new system, or if Yuhara's comments were designed to take some steam out of Microsoft's Xbox 360 unveiling later today.

Surely the PS3 is going to get spanked by the Christmas release of XBOX 360. I can see alot of people who would prefer the PS3 losing their patience and opting for the new BillBOX instead. I won't though. I wonder if Sony will try and bring the release date forward to compete. Wishful thinking i know.

Also, apparently the new Nintendo Revolution is a disappointment - only 3 times more powerful than the cube.

I think its well worth waiting for PS3 but your right Sony may lose profit if they dont release it in competition with XBOX 360. We'll have to see what tricks they have up their sleeve. If they cant release it Christmas time I would expect to see a huge amount of advertising for PS3 on the TV in the Christmas period to overshadow the Microsoft release, I think that would do the job :).

I wonder if they'll run a really wierd advertising campaign like they did for PS2?
