Yes the stadium editor is gone. Only 20 stadiums in game. No Spanish stadiums and no rain. What's the point in pes anymore? Never advancing. They give you better graphics and take away the stadium editor. They give us the Brazilian league and take out league mode. They give us back league mode and take out all the above. Another year of disappointment then. So we are left with gameplay now which will probably have crap keepers or bad defenders etc...might as well stick with crappy 2013 then..at least that has all the above that's been takin out this year.

And BEFORE making any decisions read something to think about. I'll just re quote myself.

"What's hilarious is people stop playing the games regardless of rain, snow and stadiums not making it into the game. Why? Because they don't matter in the grand scale of things.

Yes, even I was disappointed, but TBH I stopped playing pes 12 and 13 because of some deep issues I had with the AI, defence and scripting that outdid the fact that rain and stadium editor were in.

If the gameplay is as good as some of the response from people that played it had given it, would rain really matter? That's the question you need to answer to yourself.
"

So ask yourself that question. Does it really matter in the long run? and What's the real cause that stopped me from playing football games (if that's the case)?

And you'll have a simple answer for yourself. I already came up with an answer. Add ons and enhancements are cool to have, but if I stop playing the game, I won't come back for them. I keep on playing because I enjoy the game not the ADD ONS.

But I'll say it again. I still don't like the fact that there's no rain. But this doesn't change the message of this post.

If anyone wants the effects of playing in the rain, put this on and have someone shower you with a watering can.

Although diversity in conditions adds to the realism, it's not the be all and end all of the game. Same goes for stadiums. Once you're playing a match, how many people are actually paying attention to the stadium?

I haven't played PES for a couple of years, but I'd give anything for it to be great again. If that means no rain or stadium editor, then I'd take it. I'd even sacrifice kit editor.

I agree that the gameplay is the most important. But it's frustrating constantly having things removed from the game that belong in the game. My big worry is that the gameplay will have problems and then we're left with nothing again. The rain and different stadiums add to the atmosphere of the game. Playing united, Liverpool, Madrid etc home games at some Asian stadium or something takes away from the realism of football and then to have problems with gameplay...well...

Moreso than the stupid madeup player names like SHISHQUAOTCHI and HYLDIBOBINSTA?

The link in the first post doesn't work by the way.

You're right...they must have removed it.

This is what was said though by Adam Biatti representative of Konami.

PES 2014 – OMITTED WEATHER, TEAMS AND STADIA

PES EU Community Manager, Adam Bhatti, has returned to his old stomping ground within the PES community, the WENB forums, to share some news about rain not making it into the retail version of PES 2014 – and other omissions.

“Rain has not been implemented for 2014 as we had to overhaul the whole game and build it from scratch. While implementing rainy weather itself is fairly feasible, we need to think through of how its effect shows through in gameplay. This includes the pitch becoming slippery, ball bouncing, some elements to make the team used to that climate somewhat more power in terms of balance.

We are going to try further this year to get the elements sorted and have them implemented for 2015.

As for the kits getting dirty, this triggers on multiple requirements, often to do with the player contacting the ground.”
- He went on to mention that there has been a significant reduction in the number licensed stadia – with numbers now down nearer the 20 mark, something that has happened as a direct result of EA being “extremely aggressive with signing deals with clubs and leagues this year”. The particular loss is the entire Spanish league – all of which were licenced in PES 2013. Not one Spanish stadium will be in PES 2014.

- That was also compounded by the fact that there will also be no stadium editor in PES 2014 too.

- Also, a few of the other European teams haven’t made it into the final game too (details are still TBA).

Out of curiosity, how many people would still buy and play PES if nothing was able to be edited such as player names and kits but the game play was great? and this would be your sole football game you buy?

If the gameplay was great then I'm sure many would.
People played ISS and Pro Evo for years like this.
PES6 On the 360 had no edit mode but it was a great game. Was like PES 6.5.

Ofcourse it's a bad thing. But as I said. Will it really matter in the long run?

I ask myself this because it's been over 2 years since I last enjoyed a good football game and for a bare minimum I ask only for good gameplay because it's the gameplay that keeps me playing. A game can have all the nice features in the world, but if it has fundamental problems, then I won't play it. I stopped playing Pes 13 and 12 because of AI and defensive issues that were too much to handle. The stadium editor did not bring me back.

I am also 100% sure that pes 14 will be far from perfect like any other game really. But will it have at least an addictive gameplay that will entertain you without over the top scripting and bad defending? Now that's something I hope for. Though only the demo can answer that.

IronCity. I will speak for myself. Fifa has all the licenses and nice add ons. But guess what? I played 09 ad 10 and not any more because the gameplay is extremely messy against the AI and no feature or add on brought me back. The fact that the AI plays like Barcelona in their prime in every darn match is disgusting to me (fifa 13). So again, do they really matter to me? Ofourse not. I'll still stop playing if I don't like the core gameplay.

I still try both demos every year though but at this point in time, all that really matters to me is fun gameplay vs the AI. Anything else is an extra. I know it might not sound like I have high expectations from a game, BUT I do have quite some expectations to reach when it comes to the gameplay department for both pes and fifa.

I'd be happy with that. It would take the shine off Master League, but I was happy with FIFA 13's Career Mode set-up, so it wouldn't be too big of a departure for me.

What was the point of buying pes for over 14 years then? You might as well get a ps1 and play ISS. So I guess over 14 years konami have been just selling us graphic improvements...sometimes.

PES 6 on Xbox360 is the best PES I've played so far.
