Well ... I've lost every game bar one today (I drew with Rangers 1-1 as Inter). I get a lot of possession but I'm still getting to grips with the new dribbling and controlling players off the ball. In fact I'm finding it quite difficult. As frustrating as it is not really knowing the controls and it been very challenging its not nearly as annoying as PES2011 but I just can't score!

Against Inter as Spurs they played the ball up the pitch and literally walked into the net and thats one slight gripe I have, sometimes you can't get the ball off of the CPU, doesn't matter what I do slide, block use R2 they still retain possession.

This demo is much better than the first and I find myself wanting to play it. Shame the training section didn't include dribbling, that would have helped alot. As it happens I won't be buying PES2012 when it's released. As much as I enjoy it, its just too tough for me. Its the first PES I'm truly awful at and I can't invest hours learning to be proficient in it either. Still, will look forward to the tournaments with my friends although I've got no chance of winning.

Join the club mate, It is infuriating sometimes.

I think it still suffers from a balance issue against the CPU. I myself play on Top Player and it seems the CPU is capable of doing things you simply can't even achieve. They seem to glide and ghost past every tackle you put in, when they stumble they regain balance and continue. It also seems any fucking player is able to do this to, I've had Lucio against me turn into some kind of pissing Maradona. It's crazy. The movement on and OFF the ball is a hundred times better than my players and they can go around your players a pick a pass with ease for tap-ins.

Another thing is when the CPU is defending, its just pressure pressure pressure this allows zero freedom for the player, and it is hard to even get around them. I welcome a challenge and all, but there is deffo a balance issue here. For us to be able to defend we have to hold them up and time tackles, using jockey (R2 and RT) yet the CPU just rush like Trojans and win the ball.

The CPU on the highest difficulty should provide a big challenge but within the limits of the game and the limits of yourself. Not be able to do everything you cant. I've also had Sneijder smack a 40yarder FK in leaving my keeper standing, top corner, whack, 100mph. It's madness at times.

Goalkeepers also flap to many shots onto another attacker for an easy tap in. This area still needs looking into/improving.

Hopefully this balance issue gets fixed before release, or at least make us able to do everything they can at least.

It's very very very close, if Konami fix these things, the game is solid.

You remind me of some beautiful girl all over you, all night, but when you take her back, she has the most stinky fishy p*ssy in the world.

One of the stranger analogies I've read in the PES section that's for sure.

All for banter and debate but let's not get too carried away eh gents?

Lovely stuff.

As it happens, one thing that does appeal to me on PES2012 is the 'Be A Manager'. Would have been nice to get a sneak preview of that in the demo other than the brief video.

To me Craney91 is someone who takes video games too seriously, I am talking about a video game, there's absolutely no need for any human being to take offense about anything that I say about PES12.

I'm not saying that PES12 is complete rubbish and I'm not saying that I will not try it out, in fact, I compared PES12 with PES5 and PES6, that's not exactly negative is it?

I get why some feel the need to take personal offense over something that isn't personal, I just hope they can see how stupid it is to dismiss what some random person is saying for no justifiable or logical reason. I was merely agreeing with certain people who have pointed out the fact that, despite the improvement, it has not improved enough. And the criticism itself, was based on fundamental deficiencies, which means that I do not need to play the game in order to criticize.

I fail to see why I deserve to be dismissed or laughed at for merely expressing completely objective observations. It's people like them, who make the world a fucked up place to live in.

I'm sorry but this is hilarious, you people are complete idiots, I'm talking about a video game here, plain and simple; if anything, you people need help, for not understanding the complete casualness with which I express my points.... there's nothing at stake for me, I fail to see how anyone can venture into my personal life by inventing theories which can only be based on "PES does not offer movement within the space" -- OMG -- I have problems and I need professional help.... should I panic? Pathetic.

You people need to grow up, PES is a fucking video game, I am a fucking human being, I am worth more than fucking PES and you sure as hell are also worth more than a fucking video game; for your own sake, grow the fuck up.

You can talk about life all you want sweetheart, but I ain't the one whom is personally offended about what some random dude said about my favorite video game, I ain't the one defending a fucking video game as if it was my sex partner.

I come here, give my two cents about PES, and considering the fact that I have yet to play PES12, I just keep it on the fundamentals. I fail to see why that would suggest that I have no life outside of video games, you are talking from out of your arse, which apparently is the only way you know how to express yourself.

Bottom line: actions speak louder than words. You can talk and insult all you want, the fact is, at the end of the day, you are insulting a person over a video game, yet the person whom you are insulting was merely talking about the actual video game. If you ignore the words and observe the action or intent behind the words, it is clear that video games are a much more important aspect of your life than my life; me, I don't give a fuck, I practically do not play video games anymore, I will criticize PES and FIFA and any other video game, and I will not find it necessary to personally offend a person who disagrees with me.

That's the difference of course, between disagreeing and blatantly assaulting or insulting a person. The fact that you find it necessary to actually utter the word "life" in a PES12 thread, the fact that you find it necessary to offend a person over a video game, indicates that your life isn't all that great to begin with; I mean, how could a blatant idiot like myself, who spends his entire day on this forum, personally offend you? If you are personally offended by things that should be completely irrelevant to your life.... I can only imagine how many things will piss you off in your actual life.

Which brings me to another observation, you have not actually disproved any of my points, you have only made wild assumptions about my personal life and you have tried your best to offend me; and let it be clear that I have not offended you over a video game, I'm merely defending myself; long story short, you are full of shit, you are a fucking cunt.

I'm sorry, but how are the following phrases,

1st -- I'm sorry, but could you please explain what the fuck is your point??

2nd -- The point being, obviously, why the fuck are you comparing REAL FOOTBALL with PES?

3rd -- Your argument does not make sense, it is a false argument, as simple as that. I can appreciate the fact that YOU think *laughs* that PES has tackling spot on, it is your opinion, but don't forget that your opinion is far away from reality; please do yourself a favor, watch some real football, count the number of times each player from each position tackles throughout the 90 minutes of play, you will find that a lot of standing tackles are thrown.

4th -- Come on now, be fucking real, dribbling in PES12 is not realistic at all, it might be entertaining, the same way that PES5 and PES6 were entertaining, but to say that it is "realistic" is just bullshit.

How am I insulting you? Yes I used the word "fuck" more than I usually use it, but I am not actually using the word against you as in say "you are a stupid fuck".

And yes, I was very patronizing, on purpose, not by mistake or accident, because your argument was very patronizing. Please go back and read your response to Athlon, it was a very patronizing and very false argument; if you do not like it when people are patronizing, then why the fuck do you patronize other people? Don't be a hypocrite.

You pose a question and you answer it yourself in a very condescending manner, and after being blatantly condescending, you go on to pose another question, which yet again, you answered yourself, showing again your complete lack of respect for whatever Athlon had to say; yet you do not like it when people patronize you? Come one now, be fucking real.

don't know you personally and i rarely post, but i see your blabbering posts all over the place. i never read more than a few sentences because the shit you talk about it just pointless.

you're a fucking douche. have a good day.

Another wall of text I see.

I honestly think your in denial, you're the one criticizing the computer game you have not yet played, yet KNOW everything about it. You may find it is not what you expect at all, it might surprise you and be good or you may even find it rubbish. You cannot KNOW until you have played it, can you?

1. Pro Evo is not my favorite computer game, so you got that wrong, surprisingly.
2. I'm not arguing with you over the game. I'm arguing with YOU, yes YOU the person, YOU are the problem in this situation, NOT the game.

Your spouting utter shit, in the big scheme of things computer games are totally emphatically irrelevant in my life, they are played for enjoyment. I'd like to see the games be the best they possibly can, of course, especially when you are paying for them. But the problem here is not with the game as you make out, your the one in the KNOW and have not even played it, that is not a problem or argument over the game, that is a problem people have with you.

You remind me of some beautiful girl all over you, all night, but when you take her back, she has the most stinky fishy p*ssy in the world. You get put of, distracted. By you spouting your constant shit every time you comment on PES 2012, believe it or not people are reading these forums looking for information and direction. Then they see this "Amateur" dude spouting shit about the game he has not yet played.

"you have not actually disproved any of my points" how many people have told you to try the game?

Your the one with the essay's about the game and its future. yet....."To me Craney91 is someone who takes video games too seriously"

F*ck the game pal, I must be taking you to seriously, it's got fuck all to do with the game in all honesty.....you, yes YOU the person are the reason, should I take the person seriously, or the game? Which matters most, which is most important?

"Long story short" More like long story f*cking LONG. Yet your the one telling everyone they are basically dumb because YOU dont agree with them.

What a fool you are.

Now go and sit on the naughty step sunshine.

Yet another cunt.

What don't you get?

1. When you pass the ball to your player into space u have no control over him, he will run straight at the ball even tho it would be better to do it in a different way sometimes, for example turn away a bit and intercept the ball sooner. Computer taking control of your player is stupid, I wan't to be the one in control all the time.

2. when the cpu AI controlled player goes past your defender and runs towards 1 on 1 with your keeper your defender will not catch him anymore.
The attackers top speed can be 60 and ur defenders 90, they can even run through half a field but your defender still won't catch him, which is absolutely ridicilous, its just the opposite of the catch up bug.

3. When you run at full speed with a player ( his dribble accuraccy can be as low as 70 even ) he will control the ball like Messi , the ball feels like its glued to his foot or attached by a small string.
Check PES 2011 and see how many steps players took before having a 2nd touch with the ball, even Messi with his 97 dribble acc had a few steps.
Here in Pes 2012 even players with 70 dribble acc can rival what Messi in Pes 2011 was in terms of dribbling accuracy, it actually feels even better than that.

He doesn't understand you because you're not talking about how awesome PES12 is; though in reality, anyone who understands English must understand your points, there's nothing confusing about what you're saying.

Now what were you saying about through space, could you expand on it futher please? (facepalm)........

Right, no more mud slinging and bitching. If you don't like someone's point of view just ignore it. Thank you.

PES2012 ... I'm going to have another stab it today, can someone tell me how to execute the new dribbling system? I'm sure its using R2 as the players seem to shimmy when I tap that.

Just had the best game so far in my around 150 games and counting.

I think I've finally cracked it!

Not cracked in so much as I have found future proof wins all the time, but I certainly now know how to play the game. It's the first time since I played demo 1 and now onto demo 2 that I can say hand on heart, that I'm totally comfortable with the game and it hasn't been without his glitches.

Just had the most amazing game against Spurs where everything has clicked again. It's been four games on the bounce, where I've drawn or won. This was a 2-1 victory as Inter v Spurs. A few points where I have improved hugely on, and it may have something to do with switching to wide cam.

1) I know have a greater understanding of space in front of the midfield. I now know when to accelerate and attack the CPU backline and now have a wonderful understanding of when and where my players will make their forward runs. I was like many on here and questioning the forward runs from the strikers, they are there you just have to time the pass and wait for the run. In PES 2011 I think the main theory was that you play the through ball immediately as the striker runs would start more or less when your midfielder gets the ball. In this if there is space for your midfielder to attack the backline then take it on, draw your attacker then play the through ball where your striker would have started his run. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TIMING. I am now much, much more comfortable when I'm three on three or two on two, I just get it now.

2) Know your key players. I know Eto for example has lightening feet so drill the ball to him around the edge of the box and I now have the ability to turn my man and fire the shot. Same with a Sneijder (sp) type player.

3) I'm much more comfortable on the ball if that makes sense. Because of PES 2011 incessant inhuman pressure the ball was like a hot potato and because the responsiveness of players was off, you'd get caught all the time. Not now, now I am comfortable on the ball with my key men, I can slow the play down, look for passing avenues etc.

4) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT - I was wondering why I was getting a lot of 60-63% possession games, but was still losing them 2-3, 3-0. IT'S ALL ON THE DEFENCE and the way you approach defending. If you are getting 60% plus and losing 3-0 then there is obvious flaw in your defensive play stemming from the way your strikers reduce space, to your midfielders holding up play and so to the defenders. I DIDN'T USE THE TACKLE BUTTON ONCE IN MY LAST 2-1 win. But you have to be very, very subtle in the way you position your players. I think of it as a 2-3 yard rule if I am matched for numbers. Get in close, around 2-3 yards away of game distance, and match where he goes, but don't dive in. If you are outnumbered as will be the case sometimes you have to usher the danger man outside, never leave the middle exposed. My defensive play is now excellent I feel, even against Bale, Ribbery and Robben. Where the game is absolutely f'kin fantastic is when you mess up in terms of possession and you're left two on two with these players, they'll dice you every time

5) As a direct result of 4, if you're playing the game properly, you should see the OPPOSITION POSSESSION GO UP - but this means that your defensive play is sound, because you're slowing the CPU down, making it go back and around. THIS IS FINE. My average possession game is now at around 54% but I'm winning, whereas before it was 64% and getting trounced.

6) This is just a viewpoint - but watching from wide cam, I now appreciate the game in all its glory. I can see all the player movement, I can see Defoe bending his run against me (literally a banana run to stay onside, never seen it until now), I can see Bale picking up the ball and surging at my full back, I can see where I should pressure strong and where I should back off, I see where the CPU pressures strong and when it backs off. I can see when the oppo striker is trying to make a burst.

7) To all the haters (and this maybe just me), but I haven't seen any MAJOR issues with the goalies, and in demo 2 I've seen some brilliant saves. I haven't had a problem with cursor change, I now don't have a problem with defending. I don't have an issue with the CPU being too tough, it's fair. I have no issues with physics, shooting, crossing, anything.

8) MINOR NIGGLES - These are just minor points but I'll address them anyway. CPU free kick takers, are probably a bit too strong, their accuracy is too much sometimes. Many have mentioned about a potential cross bug !??!. Not sure on this, I mean I don't know if it's a bug or the end result of a good move. Take yesterday for example in the PL, there were lots of headed goals so the jury's out on this if it is indeed an issues. The lighting on the stadiums with the roofs, the shadows, it's too dark for my liking, that needs to change perhaps. The player faces whilst accurate does have that Resident Evil feel to it, but again it's very minor.

OVERALL - this is where I'm at, I am absolutely loving it. I can't put it down. I'm still messing about with formations and tactics to stop the Ribbery's and Robben's of this world, which must be a great thing. I'm constantly thinking about different ways to play, and how to counter different teams. Rangers are giving me great grief believe it or not with their aerial game. Bear in mind that I think I've finally cracked it after playing for days on end against the same teams, so I am really looking forward to the versatility.

A POT SHOT AT FIFA NOW - I don't apologise for this, and I don't care if I get shot down in flames. It's my opinion, and each to their own. PES will be my game of choice this year, already no doubt. The game is just so f'kin alive. It plays like I see it on TV. If you think it doesn't then good luck to you, we'll agree to disagree. FIFA, again, is lifeless, soulless, repetitive sweet spot finding. I don't even like the graphics anymore. There's no weight to the players and I have to say that the f'kin Impact Engine which they have been working on for two years is shite - PES, in my opinion, has this nailed this year and they didn't even release it as a major selling point. The intricacies in body movement is sublime and I love the fouls against players for quick feet.

I play PES and go back and try FIFA, and there is absolutely no movement whatsoever. I have to force everything, with triggers here and there. Whilst FIFA have now changed the system to a more build up orientated game, they've gone completely to the extreme now. Every team now plays like Barcelona with patient ten minute build up. I am not going to hide my love for PES this year, and I'm not going to hide my indifference to FIFA. I have given PES some almighty stick over the years, and they've produced some truly great game-breaking bullshit. Seabass must have been tripping through the late 00's. I can't put it any other way, but either their developers, programmers or whatever were incompetent or KONAMI just lied to us to get out cash, but what they came out with was wrong, totally wrong and against everything PES. They ignored us for years and got what they deserved, almighty stick for crap games. I believe FIFA 10 concentrated the mind, and they must have woke up and smelt the coffee. FIFA 11 and all it's pressure abuse was just the tonic that KONAMI needed to try and catch up this year. Well they've caught up. The graphics may not be pristine, but they're good enough for me and I hope KONAMI don't go down the millions of animations route and make the game like a f'kin floating ice-hockey feel like FIFA.

This year, now this is a game. I liked PES2011, but it was far too restrictive, no options, games were random and plenty was broken. But it had a pulse at least. This is the game that I've been waiting for at last. I think, near enough, they have almost everything spot on, for me. They can't fk up now so close to release, they have to hold their nerve and make PES players love it if it takes 2 months, 4 months, or nine f'kin months, because once you GET IT, you'll realise too that this is a monster game.

Over and out for now, hope I haven't bored you.

2nd -- The point being, obviously, why the fuck are you comparing REAL FOOTBALL with PES?

Question Amateur, just an honest question, but why not? Pro's object has been to make their game as realistic as the football we see day in and day out, so why wouldn't people compare it to real football? Yes, we all know it's a video game, but it's simple, the object for a game like Pro, a game that has prided itself of the football gameplay aspect from day one, is to be like real life football. Realism is one of the biggest factors, if not the biggest factor, in a football game. Every single gripe anybody has with a game in terms of gameplay is based off of real life football. If somebody finds the shooting bad, it's being compared to real life shooting. That's the entire point. So tell me, why the hell wouldn't you pretty much compare Pro to real life football in certain ways? This game is based on real football...that's not rocket science mate. Hope the point I'm trying to explain makes sense. And I'm not trying to cause any further arguments, but it has and always will be crazy for people who try to comment on aspects of a game they haven't played.

And techboy, just as Andy Gray would say, take a bow son. Spot on with your original post regarding defending in this game, I've been thinking the same and trying to work out why some people don't understand these defensive system in this game. Positioning is a massive key as is the holding off system. You cant just go rushing in every time or just hold a button to dispossess somebody, you've actually got to really work hard and learn this side of the game, which makes it even more fun. Double up on players, hold them off to give your players time to get back and into position, time tackles to perfection etc etc, this is realistic, but because it's hard for some to grasp, they act like it's a terrible part of the game.

Got both demos and prefer the FIFA 12 demo

With FIFA you know what to expect, nice graphics, animations, licences etc and they dont shake things up too much each year just little touches

Player impact engine works and the new defending is alot better than 11 and the AI has been improved since they dont bum rush you every second they get

PES is going backwards tho

Tactically its worse than FIFA and now every player on top level can pull a skill move out ther arse

What happened to being able to control your team and put arrows in various places saying run here and defend here and attack ther

Animations are slightly improved but gimmie PES6 moves tbh at least i could really change my setup around before i get to play

Even the rating system is worse than FIFA now they have numbers and letters, really? the old pentagon system is still boss and easy to use

Now all the players are the same, ther is no individual players anymore and even the team are playing all the same like with FIFA, PES 2010 Barca played like barca and stoke played like stoke now they all play the same and all run like thers a stick up ther arse

They need to get back to basics, make a HD remake of PES 6 with updated teams take a year out and start from scratch and dont use far fetched ideas which tbh suck

Team movement is a nice idea but i want help il get a mate to play on my team with me or i would like to stick and arrow on some player saying run here when we attack because its a gloryfied version of that

Question Amateur, just an honest question, but why not?

I expressed the obvious point the wrong way; yes, obviously, you should compare PES with real football.... but you should do it the correct way, with comparisons that actually make sense.

Example: you cannot say that John Terry tackles only twice (yes, two times) in 90 minutes of play (which is in fact complete and utter bullshit because everyone with a sound mind can see that John Terry does in fact tackle more than just twice in 90 minutes of play) and use such bullshit as a reason to support your opinion.

A CORRECT or OBJECTIVE comparison, would need to consider how many tackles are used by the entire team in 90 minutes of play, not how many tackles John Terry executes in 90 minutes of play.

You cannot compare how many tackles John Terry executes, because in PES you control all the players, and therefore such a comparison is fundamentally flawed due to obvious reasons. It was/is a false argument for numerous reason, there's the fact that John Terry does in fact tackle more than twice in 90 minutes of play, and there's the fact that PES is a video game where you control all the players on the pitch.

I'm just saying, if you're going to compare, at least try to remain objective, do not attempt to ignore reality in order to support your opinion, or worst, do not try to fool or deceive others with bullshit arguments that are in fact erroneous.

You are easily the biggest HYPOCRITE that I have encountered in a PES thread.

Yawn. I can usually go for a jog, complete my tax return, watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy three times, learn Hebrew and complete a Le Mans 24 hour race before finishing reading one of your bullshit posts AMATEUR. You're one of the most annoying people I've ever had the fortune of not meeting. You make me wish they could uninvent the Internet. But these forums are probably doing a brilliant job in levelling out your life, or you'd be gunning down grannies and children in shopping malls or pushing sheep off a cliff or something.

Now what were you saying about through space, could you expand on it futher please? (facepalm)........

Okay, I see where you're trying to come from. However, let's take United/Chelsea that just finished as an example. I believe Terry made possibly one or two tackles at most...so not to cause an arguement, but it's obviously not bullshit that in 90 minutes of play Terry sometimes makes very little tackles. Now come the next game, Terry may make 10+ tackles, so I'm not claiming that every game consists of defenders making very few tackles, because that's not always the case, but it's the same with Pro. Some games you wont need to make many, just like real life. Sometimes you will, granted you grasp how to make those tackles. Terry made no more than maybe two today from what I can honestly rememeber (I wasn't counting, but I cant remember him making many at all)...so while I get where you're trying to come from, you cant really say it's bullshit, when in fact it does happen and has happened in front of every bodies eyes today, if that makes sense.

I honestly see exactly where tech was coming from, he summed up the defensive side of things to near on perfection. I know you two are having this rather petty argument, but his original post summed it up very well...and the problem is man, he's playing the game, you haven't even played the game...and it doesn't matter if you've viewed it or anything, until you actually play it, I don't see how you can really expect to be taken seriously in this aspect. And I'm not insulting you or anything with that or trying to cause an argument, just giving my opinion man.
