Should we upgrade to Vbulletin 4?

PESGaming is getting a new front page in the coming weeks.

When we do this, we're considering upgrading to the much newer vbulletin4. Let us know if you'd like to see things stay the same or ugprade to the newer version by voting in the poll.

Yeah, why not? As long as it's a stable version with no bugs or anything then I don't see any reason to not upgrade. A few people have still been moaning about being able to get on since the server change, I don't know if it would affect that too?

What kind of issues are they having? Perhaps the firewall blocked them. Can you get their IP addresses and PM them to me?

Upgrading to vbulletin 4 now might make it easier to upgrade to vbulletin 5,6,7 etc when those plateaus are reached....if you know what i'm sayin

I had a problem with the server on Tuesday, Thomas has said he's had problems with it as well. We use Firefox and it sometimes returns a "Database error" message and fails to load the page.

Yeah, Smink's on the money. I'm even having problems with the forum right now, the loading times are quite poor at the moment for some reason (I've tried other websites which seem to work fine).

I recently had a complete time out where the site seemingly crashed upon loading. I loaded other sites to compare and all worked fine as Thomas testifies to. Wednesday was probably the worst site server issues I've known in my short time here.

I can only imagine it's due to new members signing up in anticipation for PES 2012. The site is loading somewhat better now, however the entire top banner (including the site logo) is failing to load, simply leaving a big sheet of white at the top of every page. :lol: Phatmann mentioned this the other day, but I assumed his AdBlocker was going into overdrive, blocking things it shouldn't, but I guess not!

For some reason that's only the case when I'm logged in. If I access the site as a guest the banner is visible. Also, I haven't had any problems whatsoever in terms of loading times for a while now.

I'm not bothered - although I'll happily contribute some funding if it stops those Livescore adverts ruining my browsing experience when I'm on my phone/iPad.

Yes. Upgrade please. It's new so it surely must be better. And throw in a cool new theme! I miss the old black PESInsight theme TBH.

Upgrading isn't a bad thing but make sure you keep the post box area pretty similar and the layout should be the same aswell.

Don't change anything, the site is unreliable enough as it is.
