Sweey, we thought you had drowned in the Birmingham canals.

Probably would have if I'd ever expected more of Italy.

Yes the Fallout fag in me is still strong, I just wish the PS3 wasn't so god awful that the same problems that occurred for me in New Vegas started appearing in this after 25 hours on one file (stuttering, low fps etc).

Poor workmanship, but it exists in all these gamebryo engine games on the PS3 unfortunately due to the internal infrastructure of it's RAM

Heard about those bugs, 360 had texture bugs too although not sure if those were fixed by patch 1.2. PC patch 1.3 is in final testing - I've not had major issues only occaisonal CTD but some people have had dragons flying backwards and all kinds of crazy stuff like that.

Getting a new graphics card when the top-end AMD 7XXX series are released and it'll be about the time the seriously good mods hit where all the textures are reworked. My second playthrough might be a bit too special.

I never experienced the texture bug although I have seen screen shots, I believe they released the patch to fix that specific problem.

I got the dragon flying backwards glitch, he was nearly dead and flew over the mountain out of sight, then I noticed him far off in the distance spiralling backwards and upwards into the air. He eventually came down.

No, Ali.

It was pretty bad when I got to level 20+, with the frame rate and everything, but with the update it seems to have solved a lot of problems with these sorts of issues.

Mixed reports ali, some say it's just as bad, some say it's slightly better.

I'm avoiding and problems and trading in at the weekend

I had it pretty bad with New Vegas and the last time I played this it was heading the same way, and i can't be arsed to perserver for another 20 odd hours and then to find, oh wait, it's nigh unplayable now. I'd rather bail sooner than later.

I might get a 360 in the new year and buy it for that. fallout 3 was immpecable on the 360 when I played it, for all the 70+ hours i pumped into it.

It is happening again
I had a few problems with NV too, mainly with it freezing. Didn't have that many problems with Fallout 3.

It's available for 22 quid on Amazon at the moment, but I think I will hold off until the problems are fixed... if they every are.

Just finished the main quest, rather underwhelming after all the effort you go through to get to the end..

NV was a buggy piece of shite. For me it wasn't a patch on Fallout 3 for style, play and re-playability, looks and the general 'feel' of the post nuclear environment. The only thing NV has got is some better DLC.

Jonno - the 360 version isn't perfect, I have a mission I cannot complete as the claw to open a door just doesn't. Not too fussed though. It's one door. If it never gets fixed I doubt I'd care as there is just so much else to do.

Yeah that little bug exists in all versions of the game, i never encountered it and the door opened fine for me though.

Yeah disabling autosave helped a lot for me, you just have to be cautious and save more often. Some people have said that turning it off and back on (IT crowd style) helps a lot as well.

Buy an XBox. Seems to be the most stable platform

Can't the PS3 and 360 versions access the developer console to sort out mission problems? Not that you should have to, of course.

There are even better mods than there were last week. Just seen a HD landscape one and it looks wonderful.

I'm not so sure it is a bug. It seems to be the way Bethesda populate the world. There were many reports of Deathclaws falling from the sky in Fallout 3 - it appears to be how they get randomly created in the game world. Not the best way but it could be worse.

:hmm: Certainly a strange way of doing it but as you say it could of been alot worse! I never saw anything like that happen in Fallout 3, certainly strange though.

Not that I'm aware of, no.

And the stability thing was based on 'out of the box' gaming. With the multitude of different PC set-ups it's unlikely that more than a quarter of PC gamers would be able to just load and play without having to tweak something.
