Speaking of positioning Ali, at LCM you were very quick to join the attack which can end up squeezing the space in the final third. I didn't mind you overlapping on every so often or making late runs into the box in a Lampard -esque fashion but it was a little too often and too early.

Fair enough. If I play LCM I'll try to hold back a bit more. Though, I think many of my attacks from LCM last night were spent overlapping Phats on the left wing.

A number of them were, as I noted on the chat but it still causes the same problem in the final third as you drag your marker back. If you hang back it stretches the game a little more space for someone, we do seem to get bunched up at times.

It also stops people from retaining possession by going backwards, which we need to do a little more than we have been of late. Very rarely do we work the ball from side to side etc. That middle three needs to form triangles and ensure two are holding slightly further back to offer a simple ball at all times and reduce the chance of getting countered too quickly.
