No. It was Sweey and I should know - I was the one covering. But, as I said, it's not meant as a criticism, just a request for him to not to do it as often as he does.

I was playing as RAM so I would know if Sweey was bombimg too far forward. Admittedly there were times when he ran past me and i passed it on to him, but that is how the modern RB plays and I appreciated it as it was another option.

They were few in number though iirc, but as a DM you may see more than I do.

A lot of are not scoring at good opportunities was down to super human GK's. I think every team had one last night which is why in that game where I got two, I knew I had to put loads into the parried shot for teh first goal because I assumed SUPER GK was going to save whatever I did unless I absolutely smashed it.

As a defensive midfielder I would be expecting to cover the full backs as they push up. Given the formation I think getting the full backs forward to support the wide players is important. I didn't notice Sweey pushing on more than Zub, both of whom I though played well from full back.

Couldn't agree more, the last sentence in particular strikes a chord, I find myself trying to do too much with easier chances because I know a normal finish into the corner just won't cut the mustard against the 'cat-people' who EA think play in goal.

After some people left we switched to the old school 4-3-2-1 and I think we played better football on the whole. Having 3 in the middle seemed to allow us more chance of a pass and retaining the ball. We looked dangerous with Phats, Joel and me in the front three. Finally Sweey played well from midfield despite having a VP rated 70, I think we can all feel his pain!

The only downside is that we were playing teams of 5-7 and this could have been the reason for the better performance.

Haribo continues to show his quality at centre-back.

Good thing you missed the final game then. Sent off after 7 minutes.

Our CPU keeper is an almighty joke. We conceded two very soft penalties, one of which was him, and the other was a CPU controlled Bishop. Don't get me started on the free kick conceded when he decided to handle outside of his area. I didn't even know it was possible until that plonker carried the ball out.

Generally we do play well when we have an optimum of about 6 and play similarly sized teams. It's when we have 9 or 10 and the others have 9 upwards we generally struggle.

That's strange, because generally, teams with more people would dominate the game. Maybe we're not holding our positions?

It's partly that, but other reasons. One being there's less chance of the opponent having a human GK, and two because they don't have so many players to assault our team with. It really comes down to us still not gelling as a single unit.

Noticed our passing accuracy was better last night. Was in the mid 70s rather than the poor 60s we've had in the past.

And Joel, you keep this up we're gonna have a Bowyer/Dyer moment in the middle of the pitch, ya get me?

You ran behind me last night. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Also, with the Bowyer and Dyer situation, just remember it was the white man that got the most heat :joel:

Yeah, I've noticed quite a few of us have a habit of running into teammates' zones, often even running into them. I'm not sure what the reason is, but if I ever find three or four of us in the same area, even if it's my position, I'll move away into space (offensively & defensively). We crowd ourselves.

Also, there were some instances where we had decent shooting positions outside the area, which we didn't take a shot. This may be because of the super human GKs or maybe a lack of confidence in one's long range shooting, but I think a shoot on site policy could be worth trying. We get quite a few bodies in the box, so the ball could fall at our feet for an easy goal. Just a suggestion.

I agree with this, I'd add that sometimes we can pull the ball back to the edge of the area rather than try and cross it if the defence have pushed back on top of the keeper. It's nice to mix up the play and sometimes our wing play is very one dimensional. Then we need people to shoot, I try to shoot around the box but then I'm a little concerned that people will think I'm being greedy. Hitting a decent shot though can get us a rebound or a corner though even if doesn't go in.

As for the crowding each other, I notice this a lot. I think we're all a little guilty of this but we need to highlight it as an issue. Yesterday, I had someone run the ball to me, pass two yards to me and then not move back into space, I've got a defender at my back and I end up thinking 'what am I supposed to do with this?' because I've now got no space. I think the one thing I'd like to highlight is that we need to be thinking about not just the pass we are about to make but what's the next pass they can make. Hopefully this will stop us making passes that simply put the recipient under pressure. Again, we're all guilty of it but we need to make sure we're aware of it before we can put it right.
