I'm reserving judgment as according to press sources on PESfan.com the Gamescon demo is an earlier build cut down and has many of the features and animations of the latest build not included. It also has a much quicker pace than the latest build according to sources so I'd rather judge it on the final product rather than a teaser to show off the graphics.

I see where you're coming from but be prepared to hear the same old people slam you for believing "lies" and that the early build excuse is invallid because it's been used for the past 3 years or whatever.

Agree with Kev here, I'm utterly sick of hearing people whinge and whinge about FIFA and PES, when they're months from even being released yet. If you don't want to part with your money for PES, then don't, I couldn't give a shit, but I will be like I do every year, simply because I find it a more enjoyable game than FIFA. That simple. It's all about preference, and opinion, but to continuously voice an opinion in a negative manner, for weeks, even months without stopping is just ridiculous.
This thread is lucky it isn't getting "too" out of hand yet, we'll just have to see I guess eh?

Its funny really cus its been going on for years, its part of "real fans" mind set, some voice it some dont bother.. The conflict comes when people arnt REAL and just say bollox to try and prove their opinions are right...
I will confess i was (in my younger days i might add) a complete PES fanboy tool, so much so that i didnt even bother to look at fifa games (stupid) after ISS went to Pro EVo, even in 08..
But as my needs Evolved Pes did not, i needed more for my PS3 days.. when 09 came out i liked it, it was unmistakingly PES, but i had been playing that same old game for 10 years and hardly anything had changed.. IT'S NOT enough anymore, if you squint your eyes PES2010 could be any PES of the last 5 years...
I want more plain and simple, and by the "LOOKS" 2010 will not deliver...
Unfortunatly its pretty much well known that Fifa holds the title as "best football game", this is cus the title is determined by a colective mojority of opinion and not down to personal opinion... in previous years PES held this title, and the reason fifa now holds it is down to people like me (OLD PES FANS) giving their opinion sayin they prefer it due to more realism..!!!
Simple fact is there are many people that will still like pes the way its always been, but if they dont evolve and inovate the future people won't start to play it...Konami know this im sure, this could be why their taking baby steps, but for me my needs are allready on the other side waiting for them to catch up..!!!!!

But I'm not here to talk about which is the best football game, I can make my own judgement and don't need to justify it to a bunch of people who will either side with me or lambast me for it.
I come here to talk about PES, whether it's good or bad.
Far worse.. they deleted the whole thread with about 500+ reply's!

Yesterday I personally was a little disapointed in what we saw from Gamescom - honestly.
But now that "I've slept upon it" and went back into these forums and saw the video in post #234 on page 16 by proevofan88, my hopes are actually higher!
Yesterday I was expecting a huge overhaul in the graphics/animation department - and I wasn't actually very impressed by what I saw. I guess I had made the classic PES-mistake by haveing build too high hopes and expectations!
When I look at the above mentioned video, then I think the overall impression I get, is a fairly positive one. Graphics are great! The players faces have never ever looked better. That however isn't of much use, since I've always played my games with the wide camera for a better over-view of the pitch. Hence I'll only see those beautiful graphics in cut-scenes and during replay.
Animations are ok. Not the "out of this world" animations as somebody told us to expect before gamescom. I'm not really feeling like going into the whole debate about what build is being used and that someone aparantly has got a more recent build with better animations. That whole build-thing that has been going on is a farce now, really.
But one thing is sure though. Everytime it's been mentioned that there was a better build than the one we looked at, at that point of time - it proved right and the outcome was much better.
But graphics and animations (and builds!) aside, I think everything is shaping up pretty good. The new gamemodes that's been mentioned and a totally new and very much improved Master League sounds like great improvements.
It seems like the simulation'ish feel i PES is back (which I believed was missing in 08 and 09). Player individuallity seems even more improved than previous with the inclusion of the ingenious Player Cards. Mixed together with the tactical sliders, there just doesn't seem to be no limit, if you want to feel like you are playing a different match each- and everytime.
Online still stands as the unanswered question. But for me personally I don't care, since I hardly ever play online (due to cheaters and quitters during a match), so with the new and improved ML I at least seem to have some quality time ahead of me offline. ;o)
But considering it's only a 75-80% build we're watching right now, I think that everything is shaping up nicely. The ball-physics certainly looks awsome!
I guess we're all going to become wiser when the demo arrives - but then the big question is going to be - what build will we be playing in that demo??!?! ;o)

Hey, it's really funny, I mentioned what's wrong in fifa and guess what? No one answered saying that I was right. However when I or any other member mentions something against pes, you and some others always jump in and say, yes, very true that's why fifa is better.
It's not fair is it?
As for animations. How many times must I tell that fifa's animations are much better?
But animations alone won't make the gameplay realistic. Simple as that.
I won't mention what's wrong in fifa AGAIN because I hate pes vs fifa discussions.
I like discussing both games but not arguing over which is better.

He hasnt quite clocked onto the fact that we havent pretend fifa doesnt have flaws.
we just react when people who know nothing about the game make stupid statments all the time.
To make a comparision between the two new or old games, you actually need to know about the games.

Fifa has lots of flaws/dislikes we all know that, just not as many as pes imo...
shit if we all wanted to we could list 1000's of flaws compared to a real game of football for both pes and fifa seeing as they're just computer games....
Its just pes doesnt seem to be bothered about "trying" to fix them, it's still perposefully defying too many laws of real life physics for me....

You know what,if I were you(you have XBOX360,don't you?) I didn't even bother to come here and try to convince some (fan)boys that FIFA ain't such bad game as they think.I would choose FIFA without hesitation.
So in my opinion it's pointless to argue about these games,because each person has its own opinion and he choose what game want to play.
