The 'How are you doing in MLO' thread

I must admit master league online is the most frustrating game i ever played, I almost smashed my controller last night after having a bad run of results, what pisses me off is when I work very hard for my goals going 2-0 up then somehow my opponent scores straight from kick off and then levels the game late on with goal out of nowhere, such bollox game

i totally agree with you man, it happened to me so many times, it just feels like when i'm defending that the players don't respond, i've had so many of those stupid fucking free kick full power passes go straight through 4-5 of my defenders and none of them even moves despite me spamming the clear button..and i have some pretty decent defenders already so i really doubt its the response stat

MLO is the best and worse thing for me, Im addicted I love it! I love earning money and looking at all the players whilst scouting good talent.

But I am always being punished with cursor control problems, and opponents ability to dispossess my CB/ SB's at complete ease..
I think Im good at PES, I play a very fluid style and try to create as many chances as possible throughout a game. No long balls, very similar to Arsenal. (Not always successful obviously)

But after working hard, being in D2 people arealways punishing me. If I could show you replays of goals Ive conceded today, atleast 80% are were Ive tried making a clearance/ attempted clearanes and it will either hit a team mate, or an attacker which would lead to a deflected goal/ or a tap in for a well placed Striker.

Its really embarrasing thats how I describe it talking to my friends in partys over Xbox live... the majority of the goals I concede there is very little I can do to rectify. Do I have to start kicking out for corners instead, cause these blocks happen nearly every other game, even when I make a yard of space for a clearance or a through ball to an outlet.

As for people scoring from the resulting kick off after scoring myself, this used to happen to me all the time, you can pretty much catch CB static with a wide ball to a winger then a well placed through ball to a striker staight from centre, to avoid this happening to myself I normally hack out Arshavin (90% of people in D2) as soon as he recieves it out wide, stops the flow and you regroup quicker.

For the record, I actually physically dislike everyone that exploits Arshavins stats... going 1-0 to someone in a comp, and all they do is play it to him so he can run around like a headless chicken doing rainbow flicks, is becoming the norm... wish people would stop being sheeps, and following the trend.

On a lighter note I signed De Rossi, as a DM, and he is awesome ^_^

In other news I remembered another infuriating trend, people hacking down men off the ball and the refs just ignoring it. Its particularly prevelant if your about to 1-2 it and your oponent realises, they just chop down the start player after he passes so theres no one to pass it back to.

For some reason the game doesnt recognise this as a foul anymore, even though in PES10 it did.

it does recognise it ,only when the cursor fucks up and keeps switching and your player who you weren't trying to switch to tackles someone from behind, think i got 3 red cards for that lol

So I played this guy last night. He was using the 4-3-3 douchebag formation that we all know so well. Up front he had C Ronaldlo, Zlatan I and Ronaldinho! This is D5 mind you, all of his other players was default, expect a few of those 20 overall stat players who cost next to nothing to fill your roster. This guy would pass to his 3 frontmen all the fucking time! How godawful a game that was! However, I scored on a counter about 5 minutes into the game due to his crappy defense. And I managed to hold him off until deep into the second half where he got the equalising goal, ending the game 1-1.

On another note, I sold off Inzaghi who was not playing well, and acquired Osvaldo and Danny for the same amount, those guys are rocking up front!

I played an opponent recently, who had Ronaldo in his team. My team is still relatively new made up mostly by defaults with one or two acquisitions (nothing stellar). His tactic for the entire match was to pass to Ronaldo and run at my defense - very frustrating BUT i managed to beat him 2-1 still.

Two annoyances to report;

1. The bloody cursor glitch! I played someone who had an easy tap in thanks to me not being able to select a defender. That aside he deserved to win but it still managed to grind my gears.

2. Cheating! I was 2-0 up in the D5 cup well deserved and hard fought and this kid just proceeded to score 3 own goals and get the game abandoned! Believe it or not but I didn't realise this and was not impressed at losing out on game points I badly need. This was almost as annoying as the kid that quit the instant I scored a 2nd goal against him the other night. I don't understand why Konami don't hit the quitters with -25 point penalty for improper conduct, it would soon stop people doing it.

On a more positive front I've managed to get Fetfatzidis a fairly average player into a goal scoring machine! 4 goals in 4 games. I'm playing him as a AMF right up alongside Claudio Pizarro as a CF and his movement off the ball seems to pull defenders all over the place.

Erbes on the right side of midfield, another average player scoring and getting assists and playing beyond his stats seemingly. Liverani has proved to be a bit of bargain find as well even though he is 34, his range of passing with pinpoint passing card make him a great playmaker.

My current team formation

_________GK_________
CB___CB_____CB____CB
________DMF_________
___CMF______LMF_____
________AMF_________
____AMF_____CF______

EDIT: Oh, another thing, does anyone play any formation other than 4-3-3? There are some seriously useless one trick ponies out there.

I'm using the default bayern munich 4-2-2-2 as standard formation. Its very fluctuating. When my opponent has a offensive tactic (for example 4-3-3) I switch to a counter 4-3-3 trough select menu. To avoid man-marking I use my hanging striker as offensive middlefielder when I switch.

A Few (helpful?) thoughts

1. When going up against a guy who always plays the ball to a certain superstar (ronaldo/messi/etoo etc...) always slide tackle him, try to do it cleanly to avoid a red card, but go cleats up on the sumabitch! Not only will you piss off the guy you are playing, but you will force him to use Manada and whatever the other default fuckers are. Plus if you end up hurting him, he'll be a nonfactor for the rest of the game

2. Fuck people who play 3-4 strikers especially when they have 2 wing fowards plus side midfielders DIRECTLY behind the wing forwards. SOOOOO freaking stupid. When I see someone playing this tactic, I change mine by moving guys into the middle of the park, and changing my team style for attacking down the middle. Usually people who play these formations will only have one true midfielder, so if you play through the middle, you'll absolutely destroy him.

3. If you are sick of these cheesers, play a possession style game. Pass pass pass pass pass pass back, half these cheesers get all pissy about you having 60/70% possession and will look to slide tackle and press the hell out of you, which opens up amazing gaps if you are patient. Try to achieve >60% possession in a game, not only is it fun, but it's funny watching these pricks squirm.

I played a guy this morning, he had replaced a few of his players with some mediocre guys, and i was destroying him! At halftime i was up 4-0. a lead that i increased to 6-0! poor guy just stopped trying in the end, he would just pass the ball around in his own half. I really felt bad for him, he wasnt a bad player per se, I just got really lucky on all my chances.

Apparently you get points now though for disconnections. A friend was playing earlier and his points went up by 12 after the guy quit, he was a D2 player and my mate is D4.

Out of interest its been bugging me for days now, why did Konami ever implement a system where it abandons the match when you score 3 own goals in the first place? I cannot for the life of me think of a good reason...

In PES 6 people use to score own goals when losing endlessley and watch the replays over and over and there was nothing you could do about it if I remember correctly.

After the disgrace of a match the d2 final I had earlier and smashing my headset as a result (Lost 4-1, Eto'o with 3 cut backs for Forlan to tap in), I have begun overhauling my Defence.

Bale has been replaced with A. Cole at LB, and Rod Fanni with Ramos at RB, in an attempt to end the constant cut back goals I have conceded recently.

I decided it was time for change as my team was begining to get stale, and I think I may have kit curse also, sinse I switched from Spurs to Juve, as I lost 6 in 10 yesterday, thats never happened lol. Coincidence lol?

Looking at a new Striker to to add to the ranks also, anywhere up to 6million, ideally.. Lisandro Lopes, Pazzini, Torres etc anyone own these? cheers
