Finding a bit too easy to score at the moment. Hopefully it gets more difficult when I get promoted.

I've managed to sign a few players, not many though, but am currently in negotiations to sign a few on a free at the end of the season. I'm finding that it's much easier to sign South American players than European ones.

One major annoyance is that Clough is out for 12 weeks, and looking at his development graph, it comes at the time when he's expected to develop the most! Do players develop at all when they're injured? Clough has alread jumped from 71 to 77 overall, due to being on a flashing red arrow for a number of weeks.

It probably won't get harder to score once you're promoted because you will have better players by then. I found my first season in the Premiership to be exactly the same as my first season in the Championship. Man City and Chelsea replacing Hull and QPR as my bogey teams.

I had Arcas injured while flashing red last season and he continued to develop. I'm generally against this happening, but I guess it will stop people from reloading a previous save to avoid the injury happening. :erm:

Bit annoying that I got two players (Clough and Renan) injured for long term in the same sodding match. It was a local derby against Burnley. I tell you, anyone that complains about the lack of CPU fouls in PES 2016 should've seen that match! Bunch of dirty fuckers they were.

I've encountered some dirt in certain games from the CPU. Ref is blind on occasion too. Penos however are as rare as a brass monkey's b@llix!!! I've had 1 peno thus far. I'm in December, season 2. And it was the opposition keeper who cleaved me Schumacher V Battiston style, so still no defender has taken me down in the box as yet!

I also edited some of the players stats - both up and down. It's ludicrous that both FIFA and PES can be so dismissive. I also altered players positions to more accurately reflect real life.

Some of them are just too bad to be true. They aren't even trying. Same (or even worse) with positions.

comically named outfit "Pleasure Horn".

You will always face them in the Club World Cup somehow.

Defending is frustrating. Historically this has been my strongest point and remains so for 99% of the time. However when you limit the opposition to 1 shot on goal all game and it goes in every time from about 20 yards it gets a bit annoying.

Say no more. Most of the time (with me at least) they'll find along pass over the defense that I can't stop because my CBs went harvesting potatoes or similar. And then the keepers (must be the first season, De Gea is not that bad in long shots and I've never found GKs this bad) can only be described as toddlers.

Almost all of the goals I concede are from through balls that magically evade the wildly out of position Richard Keogh (possibly accurate) and the lumbering Jason Shackell (not particularly accurate).

There you have it.

Finding a bit too easy to score at the moment. Hopefully it gets more difficult when I get promoted.

Same here. Attack flows perfectly, defence doesn't even flow.

I'm finding that it's much easier to sign South American players than European ones.

That... kinda makes sense.

Do players develop at all when they're injured?

It would be logical for them to not develop, so to balance the scales they probably will improve.

I never complained about the lack of fouls, I complain they are never given by the referee. Either the AI is superhuman (who'd say?) and they never miss a tackle, or the referee is proposely shitty.

Penos however are as rare as a brass monkey's b@llix!!! I've had 1 peno thus far.

Good thing they are scoreable at least. When you have one against you the best tactic to save it is praying.

And it was the opposition keeper who cleaved me Schumacher V Battiston style, so still no defender has taken me down in the box as yet!

For some reason I'm never given a foul in these situations, which as you can imagine is quite nerve-racking.

Edit: This comment came off bigger than I expected :D

Can people list the last 5-10 games. I want to see these scorelines. Is it all 7-1 and so on?

Which settings are people using? 10 minutes or 8 minutes?

10 min matches.

I'm currently the 2nd worst defence in the league, only better than Real Sporting Gijón. Barcelona leading with 42 points, I'm behind in 2nd with 41.

Oh, and I'm the better attack with 55 goals. 2nd best is Barça with a mesmerizing... 19. They also have the best defence with a single goal conceeded.

You've gone Real!?

What happened to Athletic Bilbao??

Do players develop at all when they're injured?

Yes they do Ali.

I had Teixeira injured in a match 1 game into his flourish (imagine my disappointment) so I feel your pain. He still kept developing but much slower than he would if he was playing. I think he went up +2 or +3 OR instead of the normal +5 or +6 OR if he was able to play his full flourish.

It was in one of the edits in my post. I don't need more stress in my life and that start... One of my best players injured, the AI wanted to rob me in every transfer attempt and I couldn't build my team the way I wanted. With Pescara I was okay with that because it was merely an experience, so I went with the waves. But this...

So I started a new one with Real Madrid. Transfer listed every players except Isco and Carvajal (the only spaniards under 24), and fought the game for the right to build my own team. It was a thrilling afternoon to say the least :D

I'll post more comprehensive stuff today, but for now I'll say that Ronaldo only received an offer in the last day of the transfer window (which means it was a ridiculously low one), and he went to Valencia for €25m.

It wasn't during his "flourish" so to speak, but at the point where the development line is the steepest.

Strangely, I think Malcolm (Brazilian winger) got the same "flourish message" that Clough did, yet his flourish only lasted a game.... so I'm not sure what that's about. Though, he has been given the 'protege' role now, so I guess that's something to be pleased about. What's all this 'LVL 1' nonsense about? I don't think I've ever seen that level change.

Here is my Master League saga so far. Playing as Man City with the excellent PTE patch.

Season 1 - Won premier league on goal difference, same points as Chelsea
Season 2 - Won charity shield, lost premier league to Arsenal by 1 point.
Season 3 - Won premier league by 2 points, Chelsea runner up. Won champions league.
Season 4 - Won premier league by 10 points, Chelsea runner up. Won charity shield, super cup, world club cup, champions league.
Currently in my 5th season, so far have won 12 premier games out of 12.

Still haven't won the FA Cup so target this season is to win everything and once I do that I might start a master league game with a lower league team

Current Team
GK - Neuer, Courtois
Defenders - Bellerin, K Walker, Distin (Regen), Varane, Zouma, J Stones, Alaba, Clichy (Regen)
Midfielders - Bale, Hazard, De Bruyne, Pogba, Lucas Moura, Sterling, Depay, Chamberlain
Forwards - Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Aguero, Muller, Walcott

Players Bought and Sold over the years - Cavani, Ibrahimovic, Robben, Xavi (Regen), Casillas (Regen), Buffon (Regen), Cahill (Regen), Luiz, G Johnson (Regen), Lukaku, Skrtel, Pirlo (Regen), Alonso (Regen), A Sanchez, Naismith (Regen), Lennon (Regen), Fellani, Young (Regen), Suarez. Plus all the current Man City players and a few I have forgotten as well.

I have a nice money making trick where I sign as many free regens as I can in winter transfer window and then transfer list them all and watch the bids come in.

Had a bid of £50 million for Lucas Moura which I accepted and bought him back a few months later for £25 million.

Current funds £180 million.

Settings : Superstar on 10 minutes.

I haven't got it front of me at the moment and I'm halfway through the summer break, but from memory :-

Last two matches in the league :-
2-1 win.
1-4 defeat to Newcastle who must have been on red form up front, as they scored all four of their on target shots. Though I did have my second choice keeper in goal (78 OR).

Again, from memory ...
The African Cup of Nations (or whatever the equivalent competition is called in PES) qualification table after 5 matches with me managing Cameroon on the side :-
Position:2 Wins:4 Draws:0 Losses:1 GF:9 GA: 5

The loss was South Africa, who lulled me into a false sense of security by letting me work lots of chances early on, but with the keeper and both posts saving them a lot. I had Eto'o on the bench due to blue arrow form, but his replacement did get me the lead initially. Despite them equalising, I felt very confident going in 1-1 at half time. My team talk clearly wasn't as inspirational as that of whoever was managing South Africa though. Perhaps he blasted them all with a vuvuzela for 15 minutes. Either way, it was definitely a game of two halves, as I couldn't break them down much and they scored two more goals, running out 3-1 winners.

In general, I tend to have lots of 2-1 or 3-1 games, with a couple of 5-1 or 6-2 wins a season. I think the 6-2 was me putting last season's bogey team Hull to the sword, with the recently gelled and red arrow form Lukaku grabbing four goals. I have found that 1-0 and 1-1 doesn't happen that much though.

But I simply never get these high scoring close matches (eg 5-4 or 7-6) that others talk about. I can only conclude that my team set up must reduce chances at both ends. This despite my defence being the worst area of my team for both of my two seasons so far :-
DMs : 73, 71 OR
LBs : 74, 71 OR
CBs : 84, 78, 74, 73 OR
RBs : 74, 74 OR
GKs : 83, 78, 74 OR

In contrast :-
CFs : 85, 81 OR
LWF : 83 OR
RWF : 79 OR
AMF : 83, 81 OR
RM : 81 OR

I've just added Sterling (LWF : 88 OR) and finally focussed on a LB at 81 OR.

Do those of you shipping lots of goals ever send your CBs into tackles when further than 20 yards out? That's something I have learned to avoid, as it stops them covering the attacker's runs. I tend to not use X or [] to send them into tackles until the attackers are just outside the box. Instead I make sure to bring CMFs and DMs back to hassle opposing AMFs. Anything goes once inside the box though! :w00t

Though, he has been given the 'protege' role now, so I guess that's something to be pleased about. What's all this 'LVL 1' nonsense about? I don't think I've ever seen that level change.

I've not had a protege yet, but I have had two players level up their team role. Gerrard became a level 2 General and Castledine is a level 2 Star Player (I think that's the name of the one where you get extra merchandising money). I sold Gerrard on, but if memory serves, going to level 2 meant he boosted stamina rating of an extra player around him. Castledine brings in more merchandising money now per match, which answered the question I originally had when he first became a Star Player, as I couldn't see any real benefit that a few extra thousand pounds was ever going to provide.

Currently I have Pratley as my General.

I did use to have Dervite as my Star Player (even though he was some way off being my best player), but I sold him. Juanmi (on loan) is a Maestro. I think that means that players in the same position develop more quickly.

The higher the level (goes up to 3 I think) the more quickly the protege will adapt to your tactics and playing style...and he will become very faithful to you (won't have a one night stand with Barca for example)

Sorry (again) I'm to quick to try and get my words out and always forget.

Sounds like a good idea, I bet it hurt selling Ronaldo to a domestic rival for only £25m!!..but at least now you can start a fresh and probably still attract most players you want with the status of Real not Bilbao. Looking forward to seeing some screenshots soon.

The Maestro give a training boost to all the players in your squad in the same position. I have Douglas Costa as a Lv.3 Maestro and all my AMC get a 20% training boost.

Do the nicknames do anything? Clough is now nicknamed (something along the lines of) 'El Payaso'...... if it is exactly that, it translates as 'The Clown'. :erm:

Your season sounds very similar to mine. Lucas Moura is also my Star player on 94OR and still developing. What OR is yours on? I also have a similar amount of money in the bank from some savvy transfer market dealings.
Looks like you've got a very strong squad (that list of forwards is crazy) with some decent regens coming through.

Ali

As far as I know the nicknames mean absolutely nothing. Just a strange little spin they have put on it this year.
I also know that the same players don't get the same nicknames as Quaresma in my save had a different name to rebelinho's in his.

Where did you get the 20% figure from? I have Arcas as L1 Maestro and it was starting to get humorously annoying that a player I had just agreed the sale of (Qalnazim) spent his last three weeks before departing for pastures new telling me how much he was learning from Arcas. :suarez:

Thankfully, now that Qalnazim has gone, Castledine is the one sucking up to Arcas by saying how much he is learning from him. :D

If you go onto the training menu you will see at the bottom right corner, under the players profile there training boost (if they have one) otherwise the box will be blank.

From what I know so far:

Lv.1 Maestro = 10% boost
Lv.2 Maestro = 15% boost
Lv.3 Maestro = 20% boost

(to all player in your squad with the same primary position as the Maestro)

I'd like to know as well.

Edit: now I know. Thanks Surfer.

Do those of you shipping lots of goals ever send your CBs into tackles when further than 20 yards out?

I'm managing to conceed fewer goals now, but in the begining the AI would just go past me. I had the defensive line setting in the minimum, the most compact setting possible, yet they always managed to spam lofted through balls right in the middle of my defence.

The biggest secret to defend well, no matter the game, sport, etc, is to never attack with your defence (CBs at least, FBs can be more useful as attacking options than defending). Balance is key, and if they are attacking they surely won't be there to save you afterwards.
