then again I only buy youth.20+ will make you old in my squad hehe

Me too, Depay and Lukaku were exceptions. That's why I buy regens, all the real players are already peaking/declining.

I Lol’d at your “So brutal, an excel sheet was needed” - the things our passion for PES makes us do.

Nah, this was more my passion for excel, spreadsheets and well organized stuff :D

Nice work though, just shows how much money you can make from buying and selling the right players at the right time…especially the ones you can pick up on a FT.

There were some very bad deals (Gurpegui), but getting Miranda, Lahm, Aquilani, Bocchetti, Pinzi, Bresciano, Cossu and Modesto was merely a finantial move. Cheap to buy, everything else is profit.

Buffon is just crazy good for a 18yr old kid. I don’t know what you’re doing to him or how it’s even possible but carry on and try and get him into the 100s!!

It will be a nice test to see this year's maximum OVR, at the very least.

Neves is quality isn’t he - in real life and on the game. I’m sure Depay will come good for you so just keep the faith and play him, one of my favourite players around at the moment even tough he is not having a good time since his big move to United he’s a world class talent. I’m sorry but my Quaresma blows yours out the water  i’ll post pics of his new development soon.

Neves is great, I love playing with him. Depay seems to be more composed than last year. And Quaresma is perfect just the way he is, I won't ask for much more.

Your team looks very nice, I see you signed Embolo - make sure you give that lad game time, you won’t regret it!

I was playing him, but then this happened...

Ali

It is happening again
So, I finally caved in and started my ML today (with Bolton of course). Will post updates once I've made some decent progress. :)

Jesus Fucking Christ.

Just started a new ML with Bilbao. Only spaniards + Neves, all of them under 24 at the time of signing (GKs increased to 27), etc.

First match of the season, 5th or so of August. Supercup vs Barça. Not only they are superhuman, Bravo is super-superhuman. They scored 5 out of 7 shots, I missed (Bravo saved) 9 out of 9. Wait, no he didn't. Because in the two or three instances I won a corner and managed to get Aduriz to head it, this happened:

https://streamable.com/dnit

Only good thing coming out of this game is that Bellerín will gain some experience points.

Edit: And Bellerín got a 4.5 rating. Brilliant.

Edit#2: And Leitner already got injured for 12 weeks. Glorious.

Edit#3: And I can't buy more players because I already got to the wages value. Terrific.

Edit#4: I don't need this kind of stress in my life. Real Madrid will be my next stop, sell everybody that isn't a young spaniard, and use the money.

Edit#5: Changed the tactics of default RM squad to Possession Game. Team Spirit currently sits at a whopping 51. This is gonna be good...

This will help

Started my ML last week. (Konami's feck up with transfers doesn't bother me as I have no intention of ever playing for or against any Seria B side :D)
Anyway I started (on Superstar level of course) in the SkyBet Championship with default players with my own made-up club "FC Reign" (marvellous name I know.. Don't steal it! :p) For me, creating a team with the crest, kit, stadium (when possible) and identity is what I love about the Master League.
I came 10th in my first season and the Coutinho lad was top scorer. I played himself up forward with Hervey and Arcas (blondie guy, think that's his name) behind. All 3 ended up in the team of the year. I was mauled in some games, but had some brighter days too.
Anyway, I've just completed the off season transfer window and I have one major hint to help people!!! I'm not sure if it was luck, but I ended up with Luis Suarez, Lorenzo Insigne and a few other dreamboat players! I switched to "stop everyday" on the schedule and it was incredibly beneficial! I sold Casledeine straight up (or Castello for us veterans, didn't find him that useful this year actually), Coutinho and a few other defaulters that I got good offers for.
It took me about 3 or 4 hours of negotiations back n forth (in one sitting without saving and restarting a few weeks back!) to get through the June, July August period.
I've played 2 games thus far in my second season and I've absolutely battered 2 teams!! Suarez in the Sky Bet, believe that!? It's beautiful!!!

I think that's one of the main improvements in this years game, being able to stop everyday of the transfer window - like you used to be able to do in previous years. It gives you much more time to rebuild/add to your squad unlike last years game and the way you had to frantically bid for all your targets at once.

Sounds like you've got a good team, not sure how you're affording all these big names after just one season? Unless they are free agents and out of contract...but that seams unlikely after the first season..??

Ye, the schedule format is excellent. Great to be able to switch back to "only when there's progress" so you can bounce from game to game when not bidding.

Ye, my team is really starting to take shape very early on! Suarez and Insigne I bought outright, I did get Suarez for 14 mil and Lorenzo for 11 mil. Bargains! I was able to accumulate that money by selling players who received good bids- Coutinho, Castledeine, Hervey and 2 strikers that I got in the January window on the cheap. Those 2 were purely bought for business as I hardly played them.
I did however get Zaza (Juve striker with the beardy / baldy thing going on) on a freebee! He is super!
Along with Cerci from Milan and Bernardo Silva (Monaco I think) and a few other really decent players, all on freebees outta contracts.
Now in fairness, my wage bill is about 18 mil and I just about made that on payment day so I'll see how things work out financially at the end of this season. -I've got a few players who I will definitely receive money for who I picked up on a freebee and may not use them much. So that should keep me afloat.
Right now tho, I'm enjoying the football bliss that my new signings have brought. It's a world apart from being beaten 8-0 by Hull at home the previous season! Haha

You find that "stopping every day" increases the number of offers you receive? Or does it remain similar (you receive answers in three days) to what happens in "only when there's progress"?

One of the best players in the game. Zaza and Morata are two of the most overrated players, stats wise (they're good, but not that bloody good).

and Bernardo Silva

Now we're talking! Treat him well and he shall deliver!

Silver Surfer I will get Mina. I'm fairly familiar with spanish clubs and follow some of their youngsters, so I already have a market approach organized.

I'm unsure if it increases the actual amount of offers but it's definitely great for going back n forward haggling prices. I wasn't short of offers though, I pretty much sold everybody I hoped to sell. The Asian / South American clubs were big fans of my lads evidently.

Ha true! I was surprised at how good Zaza was because I'm pretty unfamiliar with him other than the name. He is powerful, fast and accurate.

I actually got Silva as a possible sell-on or squad player, believe it or not. He came off the bench for me and absolutely pummelled 2 goals in! His touch is ridiculous! Needless to say, he's now in my first 11! :D

For me, Castledine had one of those hyperactive bursts in performance in his first year, so he's one of those in the low 80's now in his second year. Only he and Arcas from the initial squad get near my first team now as I near the end of season 2, though both of them are in danger now, as several 'reborn' stars have been promoted out of my youth team. I recently sold Coutinho in the second January transfer window, when I brought in Lukaku and Kane. While he was in my starting line up, he was definitely relegated to squady when those two turned up.

For me, it was Jarvis and his 88 finishing along with Drogba and Gerrard who fired me to promotion through the playoffs in that first season. Gerrard and Drogba on free transfers really helped, both in their quality and in their influence on players around them. Prior to starting my ML, I'd already done all the transfers, hence Gerrard being available. I actually felt guilty selling Jarvis, who had helped turn lots of potential draws into last gasp wins.

My personal top tip to get a good ML start is to trawl the free transfers. I did so again for the 2016 summer transfer window and picked up improvements at LB, CB and RB. I also got reasonable cover for CM (Fofana - http://www.pesmaster.com/g-fofana/pes-2016/player/38943/) and CF (Komano, Milic). Even if you don't play them, you can sell them for good money. Both Gerrard and Drogba have since moved on as I got very good offers for them and I didn't want them to retire on me.

I know this is a game, but I do find it a bit too easy to get whoever you want. In reality, Suarez left a title challenging Premier League team to join one of the joint best teams in the World. The game letting him switch to a second tier English team is fun, but actually makes me feel a bit sad regarding the game.

Ye, I was disappointed by Castledeine, his equivalent last year was in my team all the way thru as his stats sky rocketed with progress! I might have played him slightly out of position this year because Arcas was immense for me.

Haha I know what you mean about feeling guilty. Coutinho was my arvis and was pretty much responsible for most of my points in the first season. I had the transfers done too, but somehow missed out on Drogs n Gerard as freebees as they were snapped up real fast.

Yup, free transfers is THE way to go! Many's a "business venture" to be had in there.

I gotta agree with you on that actually, I couldn't believe my luck when I landed Suarez. It is preposterous that I have him in the second tier.. Maybe he took a bite out of somebody and Barca wanted rid!? Haha
Thinking about it, it does seem if you have the money, you can land who you want, probably a little unrealistic but I reckon it's better than a lot of the recent ML campaigns where you needed 100mil to get Messi, and even if you had that kinda moolah to splash, it was still shit-hard to get him to come to your club! So I look forward to building a good solid master league of the elite players available. -In short, I'm OK with it! :)

That's exactly how I would have to consider it. Especially at £14M!!! LOL

Could you share your team tactics please?

I didn't want to feed my addiction, but who cares?

Just finished my 2nd season with default Pescara. Won Serie A by 6 points (Roma in second), eliminated in semi finals of TIM Cup by Fiorentina (never managed not to lose against them). July arrives and what a month it was!

In two years my spending budget increased from €1.5m to €35m. I've always wanted to increase the number of italian youngsters, but even if I had the money their clubs wouldn't sell. They asked me €26m for a €7m rated Odegaard!

Anyway, enough talking for now. Here are the pics:

Hey your results look good so far. Could you share with us your team tactics? As I can see, the formation is there; it's just missing the team instruction on and off the ball, passing style etc

Would appreciate it if you could post snapshots of your team tactics =)

Haha! Although I noticed last night, he is costing me £20,000 at each away game with his appearance and goal bonus :/
Hopefully he bites somebody in the Sky Bet too so I can re-jig his contract!

I started a new ML, but I kept that save file so I'll have a look.

In my new ML I set the tactics to what I like the most, and it has been really hard to play. Offensively everything is fine, 4+ goals per game, but defensively... Maybe it's La Liga, but they overuse long balls and I can't stop them. I've set my back line to the lowest possible, yet they always catch my CBs off-guard. 90% of the goals I've conceeded came for through balls (both low and high passes).

I'll post more specific stuff this afternoon.

I actually don't think there is a single thing you can do in your first season about the 'over the top' goals. I'm playing in the Sky Bet (English tier 2) Almost every goal I conceded were those ones, regardless of formation changes or how high or low my line was, and your keepers save absolutely nothing. It is very frustrating and I'm convinced it's just scripted this way. I'm a few games into my second season and I haven't conceded a single 'over the top' goal thus far. In saying that, I do have a keeper with 80or so that has helped, but my 2 central defenders are a youth player and Vasil (from default roster). My midfield and flanks are way better now, so maybe it's just a case of cutting out the threat early on in the opposition attack but my conclusion is, in your first season, with default players, you are gonna ship an enormous amount of 'over the top' goals and there is jack shit you can do about it !!!!!

I've messed with the tactics onde more, third or fourth time already. I think I've found the answer, even with Team Spirit hovering around 70 I managed to conceed just once in the last two games (and it was one of those goals).

And you're right about the keepers, I have De Gea and he was useless in the first 5/6 matches. I've played about 10 so far.

Vasilj is a great defender, but his low Defensive Prowess does not help with this issue at all. I had him in my Pescara ML for the first two seasons, but I don't remember conceeding these many goals.

I find him reliable enough at the moment, (few games into season 2) I have received a bid for him for 3.5 mil which I'm considering, but unsure as he is my highest rated defender at the mo at 74or. My other defenders are 2 16 year old lads I got from the youth team who are both 190cm and 70or each. (I forget their names now, I think Nicol is the name of one?). I have a very strong midfield, attack line and keeper, so my defence is a little behind in terms of OR.
