Money grabbing? I'm sorry how do you draw that conclusion? Especially on the account of them probably spending out more than Konami to get the licenses.

I know cause I was the guy that play tested the last 4 Fifa games and i can tell you exactly what EA is like cause my boss was EA's senior Accounts manager and he was a dick ;)

Obviously there is no surprise that "Cash is King" regarding that/those licenses. However it's very strange imo that EVERY SINGLE YEAR Pro Evolution Soccer grabs the highest grade, and smashes FIFA to the ground in gametesting etc. And STILL I would assume that the FIFA games sell a bit more than PES ?

Or does it not ?

I haven't played FIFA since I started playing ISS Deluxe on SNES. Regardless real names or not...

I think you are right M8, I think FIFA probably does sell a little more than PES. This is down to the cosmetic value which FIFA has over PES.

FIFA is an OK game but is not PES for gameplay and that is what counts.

I have friends that play FIFA primarily because it has the licenses of which adds to the feel of the game. Dumb to play for that reason but I can understand their view.

(Cosmetically speaking, with a good patch PES, is better than shop bought FIFA anyday. You patch makers are cool).

Back to my point...

If PES had all the cosmetic appeal that FIFA has and the marketing power that EA posesses, then PES would RULE ALL. I have no doubt about it.

Absolutely. Let's just hope the patching opertunities will become good/decent whenever the game is ready for the PS3 release.
Like I mentioned in another post... I got the consoll a bit over a week ago, and just imagening PES on that graphic makes me wanna call in sick at work for at LEAST a month! ...Do I smell a possible online master league ? =-P

"Right spoke to a few people, and the news is good.

I hate to be a tease, but some of the stuff I that the person hinted at I cant mention.

What I can say is that:

*The media [magazines etc] have definately seen what Konami are up to*

*The PS3 is the lead sku*

*They team have a massive budget this time around, much greater than before*

Now the three points above are fantastic news. Maybe not so much the fact that the PS3 is the lead sku though - that was obvious due to the X360 'success' in Japan. The bigger budget really excites me, very happy about that fact. I hope more licenses and maybe even a whole new graphics engine.

The first point could benefit us. Seeing as the media have seen what Konami are doing there has to be a very strict NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) being put on everyone. I hope someone get itchy fingers and spills the beans ;)

The person who told me this has seen evrything, but he's too much of a respected friend for me to pester so dont expect me to. Appreciate the info that we've got so far :)"

If the PS3 is going to be the lead SKU it could be an issue. The fact that it is new and that there are many development issues, whereas the xbox 360 is established and is on its second generation of games, also have a really good dev program. I just hope Konmai get it right on both next gen systems. *sigh* don't ya just miss the days of Mario 3 and fifa 96, so much easier. :)

in the back pages of the latest OPM mag as a teaser for next month there is a pic rooneys back but all it says is "the beautufil game comes to PS3" it doesn't say whether it our beloved PES or that EA game...

Haribo

Chaps at OPM have always preferred PES, but Rooney was signed up to FIFA..

I reckon it'll be FIFA in EA's attempt to gain the early advantage over Konami.

New Rumor about WE11:

1) predicted capacity is 18GB over. current rendered modeling capacity is 10GB.
2) 60 fps
3) online play for PS3, Xbox360, PC,PS2 but no online for Wii.
4) Huge quality gap between PS3 and XBOX360 ver. PS3 is better. maybe three times.
5) source is KONAMI insider.(it's real, he is Ruliweb member)

and bonus ...

He confirmed FF7 remake for PS3...

This is his blog about FF7 for PS3:

News about WE11/PES7 next week!

Vanished and me we ask to the french commentator of the game "Christian Jeanpierre" and today the guy says :

"Sans dévoiler de grands secrets pour l'instant, tous ceux qui aiment les jeux vidéo savent que PES 7 est en cours d'élaboration avec des ingénieurs japonais. Vous en saurez plus la semaine prochaine..."

that mean :

" Without revealing big secrets at the moment, all those who like the video games know that PES7 is in the course of elaboration with Japanese engineers. You will know about it more next week... "
