What changes/additions would you like to see in Pes 2010?

  • Motion Capturing - Pes need to have realistic player movements, some of the moves in the current Pes and Pes 2008 are computer made and unrealistic.
  • Bundesliga Back - I don't care if it is not licensed but I want it back, at least player faces and names should be licensed.
  • More Boots - They did better this year but I would like it to be like Pes 6.
  • International Challenge Back - I enjoyed it from Pes 6.
  • Get Rid of the Generic Music - The music is horrible period.
  • Master League Improved - It should be like Manager mode in Fifa, real money, transfers should be fun (in Pes they are realistic but boring imo), clubs should have different balances (so teams like Fulham don't sign players like Ibrahimovic).
  • Get rid of the fast paced gameplay - Pes is too Arcade-y now.
  • New Leagues - Championship would be great but also some of the lower leagues, as well as Argentine League which Pes and Fifa don't have licensed.
  • Challenge mode in training.

So what you like to see?

New gameplay engine, something to replicate older pro evo's or a completely new one

Online improvement and leagues

Improved Masterleague and addition of champions league into it

More stadiums, at least 30....Old trafford would be top of the list to include

Animations to be improved to look more like a next generation game

Agree with Vitumbiko about the international challenge, just after finishing one on pes 6, addictive fun!

Training mini games like in previous pro evo's

ps its great to see a dedicated pes 2010 section

Where do I even start???

For starters, I really don't care about 10 vs 10.. they cannot even get 1 vs 1 right, so it seems ridiculous to be thinking about 10 vs 10.

More Licenses -- Again, I don't care about Licenses, Licenses was never the reason why I loved PES.

Better Graphics -- Always welcomed, but isn't a priority for me.. Gameplay is much more important.

More Stadiums, Boots, etc, etc -- I don't care about any of that.

What I would like to see??

You can improve the movements, the graphics, you can secure all the licenses in the world, you can have flawless Online Play -BUT- if Konami doesn't upgrades their Foundations, the Core Gameplay will remain unchanged.

So with that in mind, I want NEW STATS, I want a revolution in the Stats.. the game needs more realism and substance. Everyone does the same tricks, we need new DRIBBLING STATS, amongst many other.

PES needs a host of New Stats, in particular TACTICAL STATS. The game needs more Tactical Attributes, and tactical attributes need to be much more important in-game.

Stats such as "Dribbling Accuracy" and "Dribbling Speed" are ridiculous generalizations, excessively one-dimensional, and definitely out of date.

And so are "Top Speed" and "Acceleration".. There is more to running, I think the game needs New Physical Attributes as well, such as "Explosiveness" which would add yet more realism and differences between individuals.

There is the old "Acceleration" Stat that determines how fast a player reaches his Top Speed. Why not elaborate on it and make it deeper and more realistic?

Like for example, include a Stat for determining an individual's "Explosiveness" when he goes from "Stationary" to "Running". The more explosive the individual the better he'll be in short sprints, in small spaces, when changing pace, or when shifting from stationary to sprinting.

Meaning that once the player shifts a few gears the "Acceleration" Stat should then take over. But in the Lower Gears, or when changing from "stationary" to "sprinting" the "Explosiveness" stat would be much more relevant.

The old "Agility" Stat simply doesn't cut it in this respect, because agility really haves nothing to do with "explosiveness". There are plenty of world class players, who are agile and fast, but do not posses that same "burst of speed" when going from "stationary to moving".

Meaning that an individual can be agile and fast, but if he doesn't haves that "explosiveness" he won't make the most out of that agility and pace. Or at least won't be as much of a threat as he would be if he was an explosive player.

Compare the Brazilian Ronaldo with Cristiano Ronaldo.. The Brazilian Ronaldo didn't seemed as "agile" or as "quick with his feet" as Cristiano Ronaldo -BUT- R9 had an "explosive burst of speed" that made him lethal.

You can make the same comparison between Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi..

Acceleration, Agility, and Top Speed are simply NOT enough to define such differences. We need more physical attributes.

If a Stat for "Explosiveness" and "Running Technique" was added -alongside- "Agility", "Top Speed" and "Acceleration" -- the game would be Significantly deeper.

We need New Stats such as:

- Cutting the Ball
- Body Feints
- Weak Foot Dribbling Ability
- Shielding the Ball
- Finishing
- First Touch
- Step Overs
- Flicking the Ball
- Nutmeg
- 360ª Roulette and 180ª spins
- Avoiding Tackles
- Running Technique
- Explosiveness

Other than that...

I want to see new Concepts such as an in-game "Confidence Level" gauge to measure the confidence level of each individual throughout the game, throughout each play.

The sum of all the Individuals will make the Team's Overall Confidence Level, and the momentum will be in favor of the Team with better confidence.

Meaning that the "momentum shifts" would rarely be the same, maybe in one play the momentum is overwhelmingly going against you.. whereas in other plays the opponent will only have a very slight advantage in momentum.

This alone would be a great addition in my opinion, players with "low confidence level" will not run as much off-the-ball, and consequently some of their Stats will go DOWN momentarily.

On the other hand, a player with "high confidence level" will tire less and some of his Stats will go UP.. So if you have Riquelme or Fabregas with a "high confidence level" chances are that their Passing will be even more accurate than in normal conditions.

A Cristiano Ronaldo with a 90% Confidence Level will be more likely to score a goal or dribble past one or two opponents.. On the other hand, a Cristiano Ronaldo with a 60% Confidence might not be so lucky, and may disappear for some plays.

The confidence level of the teams, or in other words, the "momentum shifts" throughout the game would be different in each Play. Meaning that the Confidence Level would go up and down continually, for the whole 90 minutes.

Maybe in one PLAY you have Cristiano Ronaldo with a 90% Confidence Level.. whereas by the 70th minute of the game Ronaldo could have a 60% Confidence.

It would affect both Individual performances and Team performances, in a deeper and more realistic way. This would get rid of the random "Momentum Shifts" that we have in all PES games. There would be solid reasons for the sudden momentum shifts.

Instead of:

* John Terry suddenly beating Fernando Torres on PACE.
* Your Defensive Players suddenly stop moving, for no particular reason.
* Your players become significantly slower and weaker than the opposition.

There would be a reason for all those scenarios.. if John Terry beats Fernando Torres on PACE, that would only be possible if Fernando Torres haves a Low Confidence Level in that particular Play or Match.

Point of the matter is that we would have reasons behind every AI-Action. Somehow seeing John Terry running and accelerating past Fernando Torres is highly unrealistic and annoying.

Other than that..

I want Less Time and Space on the pitch -- PES09 is too SLOW TACTICALLY, you have too much time to think whatever it is you want to do.. this becomes boring very fast. PES needs to be sharper and faster in this aspect, it needs to be Mentally or Tactically Faster.

Another thing that needs improvement is the one-on-one play. It's time to add a Distance Gauge or something like that, to measure the distance between Attacker and Defender -- Distance is key when Attacking or Defending.

A gauge for measuring the distance between Attacker and Defender would definitely add a new element of Space and Timing into the game. This would add some much needed substance to one-on-one play. We would have to master getting "in range" for dribbling or defending.

Other than that..

A very important aspect that I have never experienced in any Football Sim is in how you "Intercept Passes".

In PES09 it requires zero thinking, you just; run, run, run, run, and release some buttons when the time is right.. and eventually, or most of the time, you end up winning possession back.

Defensive Play in PES09 is excessively straightforward, one-dimensional, and boring.

In real-life "intercepting the ball" is a very important part of the game. You have to make split-second decisions and react in-time.. which is very involving and addictive if you get the hang of it.

It is a gamble, first of all you need to have good awareness if you want to intercept a pass, and secondly.. you need to chose Left or Right or Center. You have to anticipate, and sometimes you get it right, other times you don't.

This is something that I have always find lacking in all Football Sims, and something that in my opinion is extremely important in Real-Life Football.

I think a "Distance gauge" would also work in this respect, because you need to be "in range" in order to intercept a pass, and once you are "in range" you need to decide (very quickly) which way you're going.

By doing this we would get a new dimension of Tactical Play, because if we are "in range" to anticipate against a pass, and we choose to cover the Left Lane.. we could force our opponent into passing the ball to your Right.

It suddenly becomes a Mind-Game.. you can manipulate your opponent into making some decisions.

Or as in many cases, if you anticipate correctly and time it right, you might end up Intercepting the pass.

PES needs little details like this, and because you would need "good Awareness" to get "in range" -this- would make players like Steven Gerrard more useful in-game.

And players like Riquelme and Fabregas would be far more appreciated, if konami includes New Passing Stats.. because they have the ability of passing the ball without it being intercepted.

It would not be just about skillful players with PACE and Acceleration, like Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

And of course...

Just like everyone else, I think the 8-directional Movement and Passing needs to go. It makes for very Rigid and Unrealistic play, it's because of this that PES09 lacks so much intensity and feeling.

I do like the concept of Confidence because it is what happens in real football. Next-Gen is about creating the most realistic games possible and PES havent been able to deliver one so far. Sponsors dont matter anymore, we have capable editing tools to do all that.

I would certainly vote Amateur into the next PES development board because he seems as if he has the main concern of getting PES back on top and to deliver the most complete football simulation.

Tackling needs the biggest improvement IMO. The one thing that I don't like the most in PES 09 the most is that defenders come up against a bit of an invisible barrier when they try to take the ball from a player if you are holding x or square (PS2). I'd be real happy if they improved the overall tackling mechanics, but that will mean new dribbling too, because the offensive player will need to be able to dodge the defenders with their new more tight control. In general - more direct control for the player, less cpu controlled gameplay.

Most everything I want is concerned with ML.

More leagues and more divisions in every league, even if the teams at the bottom are made up. I want to work up from D4. From there, promotion and relegation in the Leagues you're NOT playing in ML. Reggina and Torino pinned to the bottom of Serie A for 10 seasons while you're playing La Liga and watching team go up and down every year is irritating.

Youth/Reserve team w/ optionally playable matches - Virtually every pro club has at least one, and since part of the fun of ML for most people is developing players, this would add a great element of realism when trying to sort out and grow your kids or players who are returning from injury or are on bad form. It would take some thought, but it's perfectly doable. Total squad limits would have to be tweaked, like, your first team 32 would include 11 starters + X subs + X reserves, as is the case now, but a separate reserve squad of X amount players, another 32 or even unlimited if funds and maybe popularity allow, would be available for you to stock, with its own conditions for calling a player up to the first team.

Intra-ML training. I want to train without leaving the current ML, and I want my players to have their developed stats, not defaults.

More injuries. Injuries are a LOT more common in real life, and encountering a few more would be nice, though it would require care not to go overboard.

Cup matches shouldn't all reward such insignificant stat growth. A player playing in the CL final receives roughly a third of the growth he gains by playing the team in 20th in a league match.

Cup competitions integrated into ML. Konami, you bought the CL license, why force us into a separate mode to play it? Balancing league and European matches is an important part of the experience.

I guess I pretty much want PES + FM.

Yeah and teams should have a start out wage in master league so players like Kaka don't play for Wigan.

Yeah that would be awesome and I would like point some things Krishna brought up....

So, PES 2009 is only 21 days away! And I'm not that fussed to be honest. Only a few things get me excited, like the Champions League Mode and Become a Legend. Maybe, when I play the game I will be like yeah man, this is the Shi-atsu, maybe then, I will notice the gameplay tweaks, the improved graphics and adore the ability to import my own music for the menus and not that mumbo jumbo. This might seem a bit wierd and you're probably thinking, the game isn't even out yet why is he talking about the next one!?

But what I want, is a proper PES game with some of the features of old PES games, in 2010. And maybe even some truly new ones like:

  • The abilty to edit anything you want, like a hairstyle for example, you could be a top draw stylist and you want it to be perfect, you should be able to style it yourself and not pick default haristyles. (But they should still be in the game too)
  • Random Selection Mode
  • Challenge Training!
  • Different Types of Font
  • Licensed Music
  • Extra Leagues and Teams
  • Extra Licensing
  • More Animations
  • Better Commetary
  • Voice Chat for Online Play
  • NO LAG!
  • Better A.I.
  • Maybe The Crowd Could Be Improved
  • Dynamic Weather (Weather changes as game goes on) I think that's in 2009, but if it isn't put that in.
  • Attributes that actually represent the players ability in real life for example, Ashley Young of Aston Villa = Under rated

One last thing that bugged me was, when your opposition went around your keeper, your defender would just stop, so you couldn't get to the line in time if the ball was trickeling along. That was annoying.

Well, enough of my thoughts. There are many more things I would like to say, that I would like to see in the 2010. Let's hope a Konami representitive sees this thread and reports back to Seabass.

So, What would you like to see in PES 2010?

Plus, What do you think you will like in PES 2009?

That would be great.

For Me what everybody is saying is exactly right!! But this is my top 3!!

1. If Tevez is running with the ball and the opposition player kicks it off you, I don't want Tevez to carry on running for 2 seconds and then stop on the spot for 1 second and then go back into play. As soon as he loses the ball he should turn to get the ball back, simple as that, it would speed the game up sooooo much and make it more intense and battle-ing (if thats a word). It would make weaker teams more able to battle against the bigger teams as well.

2. Goalkeepers - Total revamp!

3. AI - they said that this is the best AI engine, but it seems more retarded to me. They need to make the players more intelligent, so the right or left back shouldn't try and close down when there is blatently an opposition winger free who needs to be defended against. People may say that you should change cursor and get control of the full back but even that is poor it doesn't go to the right player, they need to sort that out as well!
