Oh dear lmao, you know if you just keep turning it on and off for couple minutes you'll get it most likely.

I can't see Microsoft being able to repair it, nor will they want to knowing he's melted the back of his console like chocolate. It's pretty darn obvious what's happened.

@ Phatmann Scoop, the cheapest I can find the wireless adaptor is for £39.85 on Shopto.net. If you're willing to go second hand, they seem to be selling for around the £33-36 mark on Ebay, and there is a used one on PlayTrade for £37 as well. You'll be incredibly lucky to find them for cheaper than £35 first hand though I think unfortunately - I understand your annoyance though, because it's a big sum of money for something so miniscule.

Hmm, thanks guys. I think I'll just get it from the local Game then if I'll only be saving about £3 as I will get it straight away and I'm not sure I can trust any online sellers I've not used before.

EDIT: Actually, the adaptor may be alright actually, seems to be working now. :faceplm: My 360 really is messing me about lately.

Microsoft has just announced that the upcoming Xbox Dashboard update will be hitting Xbox Live on August 11. The update is set to include many new features, including Games on Demand, improved Netflix performance (along with Movie Parties), Avatar Awardables, Avatar Marketplace, the ability to rate games, new Friends list sorting options and more. The announcement also mentions that previously announced Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm support is slated to arrive this fall.

Also, don't forget that Microsoft is currently accepting entrants for an upcoming preview, allowing many gamers a chance to check out the update before it's available to the general public. If you don't make it, rest assured that Joystiq will be taking the update for a spin and will be posting plenty of coverage.

When I saw this I was hoping that it would be the full update :\

I just got RROD. Wtf do I do?

Do as ThierryHenry14 has said. You're safe as houses, as long as it's the RROD Microsoft will fix it for free. You just need to put it in a box for when the person comes to collect it, probably someone from UPS - when they picked mine up, they obviously seen the box size and instantly said to me: "Xbox 360?"

The service is generally very good though, I received my Xbox back within something like 7 days, maybe even 5 days actually, I can't quite remember. It will be sent off to Frankfurt Germany for repair and will take a maximum of 2 weeks I believe, but like me you might get lucky and receive it back sharpish.

:D Says it all, really. When I bought my new one from Curry's, I also bought their three year protection guarantee. If I wished to, I could "accidentally" break the 360 and get a brand new one, no questions asked (apart for "what's wrong with it").

x-box death

there used to be a thread on here for the R.R.O.D. problem with advice on what action to take but i cant find it, anyhoo

my 360 just died with three red lights but has been playing up quite a bit recently freezing mid DVD or music CD with wierd static lines down the screen.

i put it back on after the red lights and the game loaded but froze as soon as i pressed start at the first screen.

my microsoft warranty says 1 year which long since expired but i'm still paying for the thing through the catalogue, now fingers crossed they will have me covered.
i'm a bit pissed it's an elite which cost me a fortune, well, it still does.

any tips?

Apparently Microsoft phasing out the premium console and raising the price of the arcade to £160. Oh, and elites will no longer be bundled with HDMI cables.

Looks like I'll have to buy my arcade sooner rather than later. :faceplm:

Just started playing Fable 2; when does it get good, and I mean Fallout 3 good?

I doesn't. Not Fallout good,anyhow.

I finished the game quite some time ago & the best advice I can give is: prepare for some repetition. Repetition.

Still a good immersive title though with many redeeming features, graphics, story and the ability to have an affair with a prostitute. Then dump the wife & runn off with the whore instead. Good 'moral fibre' title. Needs serious play time to really get through it. It's long...

M'eh; I hated the first one, heard this was a lot better but seems to be just as weak. I'll give it a few more hours but if not it'll be returned and put towards Batman.
