You could have fatigue effect tackling, too. Players who've been run ragged automatically start getting sloppy, while high stamina/mentality players are less affected. Could also be tackling technique/accuracy/speed stats that combine with agility, body balance, and the like to adjust the odds...

Not a flaw, it's the whole idea! You have to continually refresh your squad with really young talent. Play 'em for a season or three, move them on as they age and restock. Different kind of challenge from the standard "buy team of superstars and/or wunderkinds and conquer the world".

Make sure none of your CBs have the "Extra Attacker" card enabled, and that you do not have "CB Overlap" in your strategy section, especially if they're set to auto.
