It depends on what type of player you want. If you want a pure defensive midfielder who plays the "Makalele" role, then go for Mascherano. If you want a deep lying playmaker (like Xavi and Pirlo), then go for Iniesta.

That's actually a very good suggestion. But, I bet it'll take up more space on the Memory Card (that's if Konami decide to implement that feature at all).

You wanna be looking at someone like Bradley, Oliver, Mascherano, Dolai, Alou Diarra for defensive midfield. Any one of them can do an excellent job as a defensive midfielder.
