I've played only a handful of games and to be honest last couple of months I can only really be arsed for a game of FIFA now and then.

GTA IV was brilliant, just cruising that beautiful city was a sensory delight in itself.

Of all the Wii games you choose to be on that poll it would have to be Wii Fit wouldn't it......

Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, both beat it hands down.

I dunno, that downhill jump thingy seems pretty addictive (as do a fair few of the games it has).

The problem I have is that I've played Fifa 09 as well as PES2009 and Fifa 09 - even though it has its flaws - is superior in the most important parts of a football game. Also, the Be A Pro mode is much better than Become A Legend on PES, as well as online working with very minimal lag, so with the options of either putting PES in my PS3 or Fifa, I'm always gonna put Fifa in. I prefer the general movement of players and the variation in the shooting in Fifa too; it often seems too easy to score long shots on Fifa with the top players.

Oh aye, I've played both PES and FIFA. I'd consider getting FIFA mind if it was under about £12, purely so I can play with my mates online when I get the chance. Haven't played Be A Pro but I honestly can't see how it can be better than Become A Legend, doesn't FIFA's only last around 4-5 seasons ? This would put me off I think, I love building my player's stats and abilities on PES, and what real development can be achieved in a few seasons ? Not sure, I guess I'd have to play it to find out.

Gears of War 2 deserves a mention as well actually, played that round one of my friends and we played through quite a bit of the campaign on co-op mode. It was mega fun, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy it a whole lot if I was by myself mind. Online on the first game was decent, but couldn't really compare to COD4, not sure how GOW2 lines up online though.

Played it round my parent's, and couldn't stop playing it. Will be a laugh when my missus gets it for Xmas.

Isn't Gears 2 extremely like its predecessor?

Oh and I agree with Phatmann that Fifa is far superior.

The gimmick wears thin my friend.
If you want to use it for exercise then its good, but other then that it isn't much of a game.

I may get Shaun White Snowboarding for the balance board. It looks cool.

First of all as some people have said, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune came out late 2007.

Also I'm not surprised considering the forum but to me a sports game should never be up for game of the year.

Out of that list (excluding Uncharted) I have only played Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Gears of War 2.

Out of the games I played I would probably say Metal Gear Solid 4. I really got immersed in that game whereas I was pretty disappointed about Grand Theft Auto IV as it seemed to have lost a bit of it's fun factor that was in Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas as well as pointless missions. Gears of War 2 was good but very short. A litle improved but I never really got immersed in the games plot or the game itself like I did with Metal Gear Solid 4. I just wanted to beat the game.

That's as of now. I'll be getting Left 4 Dead for Christmas, my brother is getting Fallout 3 and I may also buy something like Resistance 2 or Prince of Persia. The only one out of that list I think could change my opinion of game of the year is Left 4 Dead as the demo for that game really impressed me. Will have to wait and see.

Yeah, Gears 2 is definetely very similar to Gears 1. In my opinion, that's a good thing though, because it feels familiar, why stray away from something that has become overall epic ? It's basically a new story, although I'd say the AI is more intelligent but this is only judging from a few days of playing. The bosses seem quite mega too, everytime me and my mate faced a gigantic freak of some sort, there was a sense of excitement which doesn't really happen with many games nowadays.

From that poll, Grand Theft Auto IV. My favourite game was Army of Two, I absolutely loved that game.

Other greats for me were,

Left 4 Dead
PES 2009
Saints Row 2
Battlefield: Bad Company

Top Gun

PES2009 really grows on you if you give it the chance, I'm completely addicted now and it's much better than Fifa imo. It would be between L4D and GOW2 for me though, but GOW2 takes it as it has a superior campaign.
