Shit I just discovered that they play the last few bars of the home teams national anthem when you play an international game. I know its gimmicky but I found it fucking brilliant.

:L I was drawing 2-2 online with a guy and I whipped a corner in in the last few minutes...the box was still crowded when the keeper caught it, but I changed the cursor to be on Anderson and when the keeper went to punt the ball I pressed 'X' and Anderson robbed the ball from the keeper :D bang!! 3-2! :D

oh yeah, anyone noticed that when someone goes Marseille online (I don't know if it's just them or any French team) - the scoreboard that's usually on the top right moves to the top left and is a light blue colour?

Yeah, I think it happens with any other French team. I love the amount of different looking scoreboards this year. It adds that nice touch of realism and it makes it feel like you're watching a different football channel.

Next step up (Fifa 2010) should be for EA to get Sky Sports, Itv, BBC, Setanta scoreboards, and all the other European ones for the ultimate realism. EA certainly have the money to do so.

I like the red Spanish and German scoreboards the best, if they hadn't put the Bundesliga scoreboard in the top-centre and put it in the top-left instead, that would've been wicked.

online... do the stupid BIG white 'signs' beside the goals annoy anyone else or is it just me?

Woo, I am captain of Sheffield Wednesday... and I sealed a fine first captain's performance with a 22yard drilled top corner effort - best goal I've scored on Be A Pro.

Wish the season would hurry up though, I want to see what offers I get.

Yah, I just found out aswell. It was fantastic when I was playing my first national game and suddenly I heard Amhran na bhFiann playing.

1. Can you edit specific positions for players when in an online match as you can on PES?

2. Can you only play 5 minute matches online?

1. Of course.

2. You can play for as long as you like; it's down to the match creator though obviously.

How do you toggle the positions, then?

I go to formations and have the default ones, but can you actually move a player in his position manually?

i used to choose that after choosing the formation in fifa 08 not sure about this one though, just check the formation that suits you : 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 etc then i think it will bring another menu that makes you move the players.

Just got FIFA. Played online against baralona. Yea.....Fifa hasnt changed. If you're henry or eto or messi its not even worth playing. Fifa sucks balls. only good thing is the passing. Looks like I'll be playing Winning eleven 9 this year.

anyone else noticed that online the FIFA Interactive World Cup option is available now... so I signed up and it says if you select a country that you're not from and you get to the Grand Final then you'll be disqualified, so anyway, I went ahead and then it found me a match and the guy selected Man Utd ????? :S doesn't that defeat the purpose of World Cup?

You're joking? The passing is the worst part of the game (aside from my pet hate of players slowing down loads when they are running onto a through ball) as it's impossible to play a fast-passing game due to the power-bar issue.

I have no idea what it's like to play with Barca or Man U etc, as I use the opportunity to play as lower-league clubs.

You mean you just got the game and aren't very good? It's not too difficult to defend against Eto'o, Henry and Messi. I think you will find that it should be a testing task to defend against three of the best attacking players in the game, however to say it's not worth playing is utterly ridiculous. I'm not particularly special and I can keep a clean sheet against Barcelona with the likes of Manchester City, Sampdoria and Udinese.

Fifa is certainly the most realistic football simulation available on next-generation consoles, that is all I'm looking for I am not bothered whether the game is called Fifa or PES, as long as it's authentic in its gameplay.

It is not impossible to play a quick passing game, the power bar actually makes it far easier to do so, as passing is more accurate. I might suggest that the reason you can't play a fast passing game is because you're choosing to play as lower-league clubs who rarely do play a fast passing game.

Amen. The most sensible things I've read on this site now for a few days... also, they're not just 3 of the best attackers in the game, they're amongst the top 10 in the world! And it's not impossible to defend against them you just have to learn how, I find that the 'jockeying' feature is essential for me online when playing against the likes of Messi, Ronaldo etc - because without it they just cruise past you , but using jockeying you can easily read their movement and outsmart them!

I bet if you wrote some of that stuff on another thread you'd be branded a FIFA fanboy, ridiculous.

The reason that playing a fast passing game might be hard with shit lower league teams is simply because the players aren't capable, whereas with top teams you can easily play a slick passing game.
