Is the demo up for download on xbox live?

Yeah man, get it downloaded. Took me absolutely ages to download, but only a few minutes for my friend strangely enough. It's definitely enjoyable though, cannot wait to play online with friends now though.

DILKINGTON!
There couldn't be more controls!!

I was playing and trying to take Chuck Liddell down but he caught me with a superman punch and knocked me out!!

I've had about 15 fights altogether, using a mix of both of them. I think it's great. Still haven't had a fight go to the scorecard yet, though. I'm hoping they'll come more often with the difficulty higher.

I must say, I'm loving all the variations in attack, and that's just using these guys. Also, I like that the controls take a lot of getting used to. That will help when fighting new guys to the game online, who won't be able to just button smash to kill you.

As hinted above, my mind is made up and I'll be picking it up on release. I don't even watch UFC that regularly, but I can already see I'm gonna have more fun on this than the SDvR/Fight Night games.

Cheers. Its out in the US before it comes here I think.

Its class, I love it. Ive had about 20 fights and saying as The Iceman is my favourite fighter I have chosen him each time. The way it plays is different to SvR and Fight Night. I havent been grappling yet but as Baddar said the controls take a bit of getting used to as I just love to throw overhand rights, head kicks and Superman punches.

Whats your gamertag, Billy? If you dont mind.

I downloaded the videos to the new Fight Night ans it looks good. The fact that Mike Tyson is in this one makes is a winner already. Theres a whole new engine apparently with movement, punches, blocks, blood, sweat and tears all improved to the previous.

BELIEVE
So does it play like SvR or Fight Night?

Definitely nothing like Smackdown, the gameplay is way more addictive and realistic. It's a little bit similar to Fight Night but much more smoother in terms of gameplay and there is a huge variety in attack, and also defence.

What's everyones favourite aspect of the demo so far then ?

For me, it has to be the ground fighting I think. As much as I love throwing bombs with The Iceman, especially the trademark overhand, or the 360 spin elbow. The ground aspect is a completely different world altogether. I just love the "chess" like feel of it, trying to get the mount by using a mix of punches, knees and transitions. The odd submission is definitely unexpected too - quality.

I expected this game to be great, but maybe not this good, I'm loving it.

Been playing it now for hours and only stopped because the GF wants the tele. First off let it be known I got the xbox solely for this game, I'm a mad UFC fan and when I first got wind of this I was frothing in the mouth.

Gameplay:

Stand up is excellent and I have no real complaints except for the odd flash back of SvR when it turns into a button bash, good thing is you won't get away with this for long and as you get used to the controls you tend to pick your punches a lot wiser.

The ground game just gets 10/10, this is scary good.

Sound is off the charts in terms of commentary etc but the actually exchanges don't live upto the standards set by the rest of the game sounds.

One thing I'm not liking is the way the ref doesn't raise the hand of the winner and it just jumps to the cut scene.

I'll post a lot more later, literally walking out the front door now as I type. :/

I just love the whole variety in the game, and how it can literally change within seconds. I chose Chuck Liddell, and went with the tactic of all guns blazing this match to try and get an early knockout. Shogun tried to get the takedown on me but I sprawled it well, only to get span round and caught in a triangle chokehold. I was hanging on literally for about 20 seconds before being forced to tapout. It went from stand up blows, to a triangle chokehold instantly, and before you know it, a little over 1 minute into the 1st Round and I'm left near enough unconscious wondering what the fuck just happened.

I fucking love this game, definitely a contender for game of the year if it fulfils it's potential. If they get online right, and lag free then I honestly fail to see how Fight Night 4 will top it.

Oh, and just a "you got knocked the fuck out!" moment:

The demo is pretty good. I'll probably pick the game up. Pretty hard to get used to the controls though. So many different things to remember. The gameplay itself is easy though. A few kicks and punches to the head = KO. I haven't got past the first round yet.

Hopefully there will be some unlockable legends - Shamrock, Severn, Abbott, etc.
Abbott the fact cunt?

DILKINGTON!
Randy is due to fight Nogueira at UFC 102 in August so should be in there.

Why the hell are Tito & Sylvia in there?? They haven't been with the UFC for ages! Although I will enjoy some ground and pound with Tito!

I've pre-ordered this from Gameplay.co.uk. If you pre-order with first class post you get a code to download 2 extra fighters (Bader & Escudero).

Just to echo what everyone is saying, this game has blown my expectations away. Had about 10 matches with my brother last night and I can't remember having this much fun with a game in a long while. Simple, intuitive gameplay that will take a while to master (I haven't done much ground yet), and has a random feel to it which makes for great matches. And the graphics are astonishing, some of the best-used I've seen. The knockouts are brilliant, and the use of ragdoll physics at this time is hilarious. "And it is all over!" I'm desperately trying to engineer a spinning backhand (or whatever the technical name is) knockout straight out of the blocks for Liddell, I think if I achieved that, and snuffed it right at that moment, I'd be content.

Fiendishly indicative. The proper game is going to be fantastic, and destined to become a personal classic at least. The developers have just nailed it. Could well be this generation's answer to the N64 wrestling games.

Where's Randy?

I hope to God we get Randy, along with the legends as I said, but I heard a vicious rumour that THQ were planning on holding the legends back for the next game, which would be extremely disappointing if true.
