What a joke of a "File of the Year" award anyway! Only 6 total votes?? Whoever was in charge of that should be ashamed-that's not an award if no one knew about it haha
I was wondering how one becomes an admin/mod or "pes gaming elite". Most (especially the admin/moderators) do an excellent job, some of the "pes gaming elite" are a joke-doing more harm than good on this site sometimes. Seems this year there's been more degenerates constantly spouting than years past.
EDIT: just saw on the link to the poll that one must have AT LEAST 200 POSTS in order for the vote to count???! WTF?? WOW, my question seems to have been answered, this site gives credit to QUANTITY rather than QUALITY I guess...that's a shame. Wonder what the thinking is having that restriction-200 posts is a lot, and doesn't necessarily make one qualified over many of us below 200 posts. Oh well, the poll was ruined partly because of that and I've now learned to take these "Awards" with a grain of salt LOL

Hey man, just want to clarify the issue up. That thread where you got all your votes was only the nominations thread. The point of that thread was just to shorten the list of nominees for the actual voting thread.
So I guess the "PES Gaming Elites" and above only get to vote, not peasants below 200 posts...I checked out both links MM posted and there were a ton to nominate MM/Glen, but all were well below 200 posts...who knows how many people saw the actual Voting Thread, can't say I was one of them. It's a shame really since the real winner hasn't been recognized.

Not taking anything away from you pal, you're a top contributor! and rightly deserve one of the awards if not both, Just disapointed in the manner in how it was organised, six votes in total is a pi$$ take, and we did have a three page tribute to our file before the so called poll began?
Just thought with us who put the hours, days, weeks, months, into making the PES experience better it would have been delivered in the correct area Editing & Option files, Not Discussions PES2011, and made clearer, or even Nominees PM'd?
Guess im just being a bit of a marter now so il shut up!

I don't know the voting system, but I guess the reason why they have this '200+' in place is so that they want regulars to vote. I know this makes more sense for categories such as 'member of the year' which leads me to think that they're unable to have different voting criteria for the different categories.
I guess the majority of voters in the original discussion thread believed that that was the actual 'voting thread'. Maybe alot of guys weren't able to vote due to the '200+' restriction but these awards are really here for regular pesgamers.
Hey Rainey, props to you for all the time you put in and your contributions to this site and PES. I don't want to come across as blasting you or anything. I didn't even know the poll was out, and as it turns out someone like myself, who has been on this site since 2004, couldn't have voted. So like I've stated previously, QUANTITY is being rewarded over QUALITY, but I do understand it weeds out some that need to be.
I pick my spots to contribute and it's usually just explaining the basics to newbies, so whatever. There are some guys on these boards that post novels bashing PES year in and year out and because of their post count are considered "PES Gaming Elite". That's a whole nother issue for another day however. I guess we can try to let the admins know of the poll confusion and hope the news gets out there more in the future.
Again, thanks for your contributions. You and all of the option file makers are very much appreciated!
Im more than happy with this option file. Its great, got plenty of leagues and even the championship. I love the kits, logos and faces.
My only criticism is the stadiums, but thats more down to the stadium editor limitations which PES offered and not the option file.

i would like to say congrats to the mods etc for such a sham of a comp. thats all i have to say on that we shouldve / wouldve won but didnt. i know next year if done right me an mag have it in the bag cos there ISNT a file out better than ours period, take it as you may i really dont care cos its the truth an everyone knows it.an as for 200+ posts? behave. anyone who uses a file off here should be able to vote period!!

I've worked out how to overcome the purple arrow syndrome, its a bit long winded but it works.
Start your master league as normal, go to negotiations and use the advanced search to created players. Start negotiations with the player you want (e.g neymar) after the negotiations are started, immediately end the negotiations. Then exit the negotiations screen. Next re enter negotiations and advance search to free players, the player from the created players group should now appear here, start and finish negotiations as normal. Once signed the purple arrow syndrome should be gone
the only way to stop the purple arrow is to transfer the player in question into the team you wish to play with in edit mode before you start the master league. you buy the player for free once you start the ML anyway.
This is, all always will be, regarded by the masses (or peasants, unimportant PES players as we're now seen as by the Gestapo Admins..) as the best OF on the net. Used this for the past two years and it's quality, the actual depth of what you get, months before WENB realise anything worth using, is beyond anything else you can find
Rainey - no offence but to accept an award that you don't deserve when the majority, that majority being deemed as not fit enough to have a say on the voting matter, is a disgrace and a big middle finger up to Glen and the majority of users. Congrats on producing an OF that, once again, was a disappointment considering the size of WENB and also cheating out Glen of a thoroughly deserved award

Hey guys, as a mod I thought I'd come and try to clear a few things up about the end of year awards. Firstly, a few of you have mentioned the PesGaming Elite as if it is a private club for established members; it is nothing of the sort. In fact when a member has that blue bar beneath their name it shows only that he has paid for the privilege (you get adverts removed and things like that).
The questions surrounding promotion of the awards and eligibility to vote are important ones which have highlighted problems for us. The End of Year Awards are given their own sub-forum in the Off Topic section (here). This is a convenient place to put the polls as most of the members who would vote on the majority of the awards spend most of their time in the Off Topic section. cjkinger mentioned the 6 votes 'File of the Year' got, well for comparison 'Funniest Member' got 29. It has only been recently that we've been giving awards for best option files (I think last year was the first time) and so we just did them in the same way as the other awards. This obviously isn't the best way to do it.
The 200-post requirement was implemented with the focus on categories such as 'Best Member', and surely all of you (even jayscfc) can see that it makes sense to limit categories such as that to the more established on the forum? However, when it comes to OFs, this amount of activity isn't required to make an informed decision, so I sympathise with those of you saying that all should be allowed a vote in the option file categories. It is certainly something I will be recommending for next year's awards.

Papa, I'm guessing the 200 posts limit was put in place to discourage people from creating new accounts and voting several times for their own file. Mighty__Mag actually did this once during the nominations so who's to say that others may not try their luck when it comes to the real votes? The placing of the final voting in the PES2011 discussions area was probably because that area may lead to more exposure but obviously that wasn't the case. I'm a little surprised that not even one person from this thread had spotted the thread in the general section though as this OF seems to have a large following.
That is exactly the reason why. End of Ywar Awards on this forum always has this rule.
Maybe 200 is a bit harsh and we may need to look into that for next year, but we just want this to be run as fairly as possible. And people creating new accounts to vote for themselves is cheating and not acceptable.
So you can call it "elitest" or us "looking down on peasants" all you want, but as long as it is a fair contest, then I'm happy.
The fact that none of your supporters found the thread is a bit alarming though. I mean, it is in the most popular section of pesgaming.com. And other voters of the other option files were able to find it. Hmmmm...

Thanks for clearing some of this up guys. I think what getting only 6 votes TOTAL tells us is there are errors in promotion, placement, and who is ALLOWED to vote. Just because a bunch of people found the poll, doesn't mean any of us could actually vote in the poll because of the 200 post requirement. I truly believe that is the main issue in getting more people to vote.
I agree there probably should be a limit though, because as many have stated, there has been abuse with multiple accounts. I don't know what the limit should be however, because most of the accounts nominating option files were probably in the 15-40 post range...so even going down to 100 posts would keep almost all of those guys out. Is there enough abuse that can't be caught to require a post limit for option files??

That way, maybe they would have been a lot more votes. My mistake. This is the first time I've done this. A lot of feedback means next year it will be better organised.
I admit, looking back on it, 200 posts does seem a bit harsh for this section. I'm sure it is something that will be looked over for next year, as it doesn't seem a lot of members in the PES section post a lot, even though they do visit a lot.
All I can say is that I am sorry that it wasn't organised better and if I'm still here as an administrator next year, I will put more effort into it.

I created that spare account ages before the nominations thread went up, hardly like i planned it for that thread?
And your system can be fooled for new accounts anyways, its not difficult to register with the hundreds of different PC's i use at work?
