Burn Image, speed to slowest possible.
That's it.

When burning a patched game, shut down all other programs just to be safe.

zygalski im using a dvd+r disc could this be the problem why it aint loading on my ps2?

It's possible. Some PS2s don't like to read those so try a normal DVD-R.

I downloaded DVD decryptor and the patch o matic 3 thing and got the original image and patched it using the patch o matic thing and then burnt a DVD image of the patched DVD image using alchole120%. I am applying the patch to Golden Eye Rouge Agent because ps2info.com said that that was how i needed to get it to work on HDDloader or HDadvance(i have hd advance 2.0) but after i burnt the dvd and tried to load it on the hard drive in my ps2 using hd advance, hd advance told me i needed to insert a valid ps 2 disc. Does somthing different need to be done to patch a game for use with HD advance?

This is a thread for patching PES4 (also useful for WE8:LE) so I can't help you with other games since I've never patched anything else.
And the hard disk issue is worth discussing in a thread of it's own. I know that Timedwins has got patched WE8:LE working on his hdd.

I got the ISO all patched and everything but then everytime I try to burn it in Nero I get an error just as it starts burning. Here is what the error box said, I dont know anymore than this

Try using dvd decrypter mate. http://www.dvddecrypter.com/

2.
Create an ISO from your original PES4 dvd game using dvd decrypter or other ripping program.

a) Put your Original PES4 dvd in your PC dvd drive
b) Open DVD Decrypter, go to MODE /ISO / Read
c) Choose your destination folder eg origPES4
d) Press the go button (dvd->Harddrive symbol)

This gives you your original ISO.

Lol, i know im stupid for doing it but i put it in the wrong drive, I know, Idiot of the Year award coming my way. Zyalski, have u got X-Port2? Cos i was just wanderin can u edit the music playlists via the X-Port???

Yes I have an x-port. no you can't edit the game music with an x-port. It's just a device to transfer memory card files.
