Ive played the game and it was perfect. One of the few comic based games that finally got me. The stealth atmosphere, gameplay, graphic, sounds... everything is simply excellent.

I treated myself to this for Christmas (£16 in Tesco!!!) and I'm loving it. Gonna be a bitch doing all the riddler challenges though.

I'm really enjoying this game at the moment, probably because I'm taking it slowly and only playing an hour or so here and there. The Scarecrow's nightmares are very eerie and I look forward to more in the future hopefully. At the moment I'm just past the part where Poison Ivy is released and I've just taken on a few waves of enemies on a floor that gets electrified every now and then by Harley Quinn. The character bios and interview tapes are a nice touch as I'm not too clued up on the history of the Batman's enemies or even who some of them are.

The stealth modes I am pretty useless at, as expected, and sometimes I just wish I could take out an AK47 or something and take the enemies down - especially the armed ones.

I love the nightmares. The one with Bruce's parents in particular was fantastic.

The Penguin, Mr Freeze, Clayface and Ra's al Ghul are others that spring to mind for me.
I think The Penguin appears on one of the screens during one of Scarecrow's nightmares doesn't he?

A quick question:

In the nightmare where you get to walk for about a minute as the Joker, you go back to being Batman and Joker shoots you. It came up with the retry screen saying I should use the analog stick to dodge the bullets. However, when I pressed retry, I was faced with an RIP Bruce Wayne gravestone. Was there some sort of secret part of the game that I missed there?

No, it happens for everyone. I can't actually confirm it with a second playthrough though.

It's a mindfuck like Metal Gear Solid's swapping memory cards and telling you to turn off the PS2. :faceplm:

Waiting....
Is there any news on this game being released as PS3 platinum? I ordered it from Play a month ago for £17.99 and the status still says "awaiting stock". It now seems to be that they no longer sell it other than through their marketplace. It's out of stock at Zavvi and The Hut and over £32 (and in stock) at HMV and Amazon.

I started Batman AA up last night on my Xbox 360 and went to load my last saved game and it was gone!! I was 37% of the way through too which was really annoying!! I think I might have turned my Xbox off when it was halfway through an autosave the last time I played by mistake. I didn't expect it to save my last autosave but I didn't expect to lose everything!!!

Anyway, I just thought I'd post a warning on here - Don't ever switch off your console while the game is doing an autosave or you'll lose everything! Just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same problem?

The good news is I started the game again last night and played through the first 7% and I'm actually enjoying it more on the second play through then the first :)

I think it's because I'm used to the controls now so it feels really slick when I swoop down and knock a henchman out and then swoop back into the darkness! On the first play through I was constantly getting caught and shot and killed by other henchmen - My timings a lot better now!

Great game!

You silly boy. Ever since it became possible to save your game onto the HD or memory card, games have been warning you not to turn off your console whilst it saves

Yes, it is a great game. I bought it last year at some point, when it went cheap, but I'll probably get the next game not long after it comes out. It's not like I'm a big Batman fan either, I've seen the films, that's about it.

I know it constantly warns you not to switch off while saving but I did it by mistake!

I'd just been killed for about the 15th time by the sniper on the mansion roof and I got that fed up that I just turned the console straight off. I must have done it as it was performing an autosave as I went into a new area :crymore:

Ah well you live and learn I guess. Still can't believe it wiped my whole game :realmad:

Least I get to play the amazing game through again though! :D

Yeah, don't worry mate... I was only joking :)

To be honest, I'd always wondered if turing your power off during saving WOULD actually bugger up your save. I thought it might have been something the developers put in as a safe guard, kinda like when it says on a food product "Once open, consume within 3 days", just to stop people phoning up and bitching if their save gets fooked or they start throwing up their insides :D

So in a way you've kinda done me a service. Myth busted... so they say.

Finally completed the game today and have to say it's by far the best superhero game ever! It's also the most I've enjoyed a game for a long time. Everything was spot on - The atmosphere, the combat, the stealth and you just really felt cool zipping in and out of areas as Batman.

The only thing that I thought could be a little improved were the boss battles - I thought they were a little repetitive and could maybe have included some other ideas for combat. Just a minor quibble though. Overall I thought the game was excellent!

8.8/10 for me.

Calling all gamers.

I may potential buy this game for my brother this Christmas. He's only recently required an Xbox 360 you see, and he's playing through certain game series. He's really into the Assassin's Creed games at the moment, but is looking to soon get into Batman I think.

There's only one problem; Arkham Asylum has seemingly become as valuable as gold thesedays. I could swear the Game of The Year editions were being sold widely for around the £10-14 mark just this summer. Now, however, prices have doubled. I just don't understand it.

I'm just hoping for a little bit of help here in the search. I've looked on Amazon, Play, Shopto, GAME. I'd ideally like new, however, I don't mind second hand as long as the item is in great condition.

I'm hoping that by the time he plays through the remaining Assassin's Creed games, and Arkham Asylum - that Arkham City will have dropped in price, making the purchase easy for him (or me, for him) at some point.

Just the normal version I'm afraid, bought it preowned so would only ask for like £10 or so.

Sounds fair enough. I've messaged an eBay seller, in the hope we can agree on a backdoor price for this seller's GOTY edition before the listing is really noticed. If that fails, I may just take you up on your offer brother.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again. Have some rep for being incredibly helpful. :)

The seller I've contacted on eBay seems to be happy to negotiate. It looks like I'll be buying the GOTY edition for £13 delivered. £3 for the extra content seems reasonable enough.

I really do want to thank you though man, I appreciate it massively.
