I know I'm relatively new to all this online hoo-hah since I never played COD4, but I really think the air strikes and helicopters ruin the experience. I was in a game with AndehPandeh and Nifty last night and two guys on the other team just had them constantly, you couldn't do anything for being killed. And since it was a capture the flag level, you couldn't just hide until it passed.
To be fair, this happens to me in all my games. I actually think I might be one of the worst CoD players currently to own the game. In the whole world.
I've literally played a handful of games and have only held my own in about 3-4 of them (without ever winning, but by the same token not sticking out like a sore thumb with a K/D score of 1:18 or something similar).
I think I need to adopt some different tactics for a while - run 'n' gun just isn't working at the moment (whereas in Unreal Tournament - the last FPS I played online - this worked fine). So far, my tactics choice is a toss-up between learning the levels and playing in the shadows, or giving up playing the game entirely.
That being said, I actually enjoyed playing with you fellas yesterday. I'm sure it wasn't as much fun for the rest of the people on my team as it was for me, as I was single-handedly losing us matches, but hey ho.
From a technical point-of-view, I am a decent shot at medium range and find I do a little better on levels that have less high vantage points. However, on those levels that others know the ins-and-outs of, where they get good vantage points, I am just a sitting duck as I blindly run out into open spaces.
I will get decent eventually.

It was nice to have a load of us on tonight. Was good to see you Nifty, even though you scuppered my attempts to jump 30ft and knife you on a couple of occasions.
Yeah, I learnt my lesson a little from an earlier game we played (I think on Terminal) where you knifed me about 5-6 times without reply in the space of about 2 minutes. I'm at that stage in my COD career where I am going to die a hell of a lot - but as long as it isn't constantly the same mistakes over and over and over again, I can take heart from it.
There was a particular moment yesterday where you had the pair of guns and you took out myself, Jin and one other whilst we were all lined up on some sandbags peering over a wall. That must've been the easiest triple-kill you've ever managed.
EDIT: Also, I desperately wanted to speak, but no-one else has headsets it seems. Otherwise, the amount of times you heard me musing to myself about how shit I am would've probably made your day.
