I put PES down to one side to give FIFA a proper go, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. I'm not the best at it - far from it, infact - but it's fun to play and the game play is as good as PES's (off-line). On-line is where FIFA reigns supreme. At the moment, FIFA09 and PES09 are on a level playing field, but if FIFA were to have the Master League (with original team creation and more seasons) and an extend BAP/BAL, FIFA will be way ahead.

I agree. Some people won't give this game a chance, and blindly say PES gameplay is way better than FIFA.

PES is better in terms of player likeness and kits (licensed kits) though.

Is the Fifa BAP only 4 seasons? I heard that somewhere but I'm only just coming to the end of my 3rd season in my BAP game so I don't know. And does BAL in PES go on for as long as you like?

PES is definitely leagues ahead of Fifa in terms of player faces and I prefer PES's stats system too.

I don't know if there are pre-season friendlies, as I've just reached the mid-season, but there are transfers. It's more realistically scheduled: the transfer windows are scheduled like in real life as are match fixtures, so you still play competitive matches while the mid-season transfer window is open; but you can't create your own team name, kits, choose stadium, etc.

I agree. Even more so after I got Blue Champions update from the EA forums where he reduced players speed. Makes it even better.

Which difficulty are you playing on? Try playing it on Legendary, with all of your controller configurations set to manual.

I'd just like to be able to buy him and Arshavin in manager mode

It's frustrating because Arshavin is a brilliant player for Russia and he's my Arena player at the moment, but he's not at a club in the game so you cant get him!

i bought him for arsenal as i put him in the free agents section in transfers , it can be done. Lyon also bought him in a manager mode i was doing.

Run me through how to do it then cos me two would like to be able to buy Arshavin.

go to the transfer section and select free agents as if they were a team . Search for arshavin and then register him to free agents, you will then be able to buy him in the career mode. I am 99 percent certain this is how i did it i have done it with a number of players. I will test this method when i get chance to make sure it works, if it doesn't just go down every other avenue as its a fact you can do it, i have bought players through registering them form national teams to free agents many a time
