got the game today, and alli can say it is off the hinges...i found it difficult to navigate my way around, so after about 15 mins, i used fernandos we9 english patch (first time i've ever did it too) and bingo! i was able to read and make sense of it all!
gameplay: it is a tad slower, but believe me you can dictate the pace of the game, which makes it so much better...if you score first and you want to take the sting out of the game, providing your skillfull enough, you can do it.
editing: you'll be pleased to know the stripes and hooped shirts are back!!! not only that, a wide range of them too. i havent gone into the logo/emblem editor yet, but i have noticed that you can put logos at the BACK of the shirts, similar to some of those continental teams i guess.
all i'm missing is an option file to make the game complete (proper kits and logos etc.)
but there is more than enough to keep me going untill then!!

just got and played a few times.

don't know what the shoot then press R2 is for, FK feels different.even with up + shoot with under half bar, the ball lobs high and slow.

shots much weaker than WE8LE and first time shots little accuracy.

beautiful and plenty animation

another nice touch, under the kit selection just before a match, you can individually change the socks, shorts or shirt as well as the whole kit.
also in the edit section you can choose if you want your edited player to wear, wait for it....a poloneck under his shirt (like zola used to do) wear not only wristbands, but friendship bands, necklaces, tape around the lockdown (wedding) finger, cycling shorts and choose what colour!

these are just a few shots in the editing section!

the gameplay has changed dramatically :
step side feint & super cancel doesn't need to press R2 anymore. (i guess this related to konami's future plan on WE-PSP), dribling variation can be done simply by pressing D-pad.

It is sweet!!
As people have said you can shield the ball better, but the ball is no longer "glued" to the player in control so it is easier to lose/steal the ball.
Scored a peach with Rooney to win the world cup!! Headed on by Lampard Rooney on the turn volleyed into the top corner keeper didin't move as he hit the ball so hard. Think Newcastle but without so much movement!!!
Just need to brush up on my Japanese (especially as I am living in Tokyo now!!) though to get through all the editing I have to do.

OH YEAH STRIPED SHIRTS AND LOADS OF THEM!!!!!

yeah, i agree that it is much easier to lose the ball, and you cant sprint and then suddenly stop and turn on a sixpence like on pe4, you have to slow down if you want to keep the ball.
also in the league mode, you have the option of having a cup competion as well.

what about all those kits ehh. does the translation patch change everything or just names. scored a goal with hartson for celtic from edge of area and it went to a clip scene of fans with scarves and other things celebrating, also noticed the teams shaking hands before kick off. bit dissapointed that rangers have licensing and celtic dont especially with shunsuke nakamura playing for them. ronaldinhos flip flop move is quality but you have to get into a stride before you do it.

I think I really like it, for me there's quite a big difference in terms of gameplay between this and PES4 and it's taking a while to adjust. The difficulty's been stepped up a lot more than usual too, on level 3 I've won no more than 1-0, lost a few 1-0 and one 2-0 and the rest 0-0. I'm finding it really tough to create any chances.

The edit mode has been improved a hell of a lot, there must be over 1000 possible variations for shirts compared to the 25 odd last time.

In the ML, I don't like the fact that you can seemingly buy as many players as you like to start off with, it doesn't seem to be restricted by the amount you raise by selling your own (in Create Original Team mode).

Things I haven't seen yet - a red card, a red injury, a disallowed goal, an injury from a fair tackle, a flip-flap, a headed/volleyed goal.

EDIT: Just scored a header from a corner.

your right on the difficulty, on pes4 i was on 6 stars and getting bored with it, because there was no challenge, on we9 i'm on 3 stars and the majority of my games are 0-0 draws, the defenders are definatly more clued up in this game. as for the transalation patch, it does not affect the kits or in-game options at all, it just makes all (or at least most) of the text english

can you go in on 2 footed tackles because am trying to snap some people, and its really simple to do the flip flap( L1) its also really easy to make the man utd top, brazil and argentina

Would be good if you were playing an important match and you scored the winning goal or something and you can see the reaction of all the players/crowd of how important important the goal is.

Big Win !!!!!!!!!!!

Started playing WE9 today, and I managed to beat International Cup on 5 star with out restart on the first try. That's quite an achievement for me since I usually don't play on the highest level when I buy a new game. Played like 5 matches with my brother first, and about 3 warm up matches with the cpu before I started the cup. My impressions.... Hmmm, the defence is really tight. I love the new AI. Played 15min (per half) matches and the scores were like 2-1, 3-2, 2-0, 1-0... etc. The scorelines were pretty realistic. There's so much more to talk about with this new WE9. It's simply fantastic. More than worth the money!!

also i've managed to get a hold of a we8 option file with the proper premiership badges and import them to we9 via max drive...still looking for an option file with the sponser logos though.....

just saw the boot editor and i have fallen in love. all the F50+'s are amazing and highly detailed. what kind of footballs can you buy when you get enough points, i only have about 400
