I'm up for an online game.

I managed to get sacked by Colchester. Now at FC Emmen, but am spending more time creating facepacks than playing the game.

Hope to have the Premiership done by the end of the year. Trying to get my graphics project back on track, after losing the net for far-too-long.

Major bug for me again.

My transfer/wage budget stays for the day I accept it in the summer and then disappears when I click Continue. Happened last season, but I still had £3m left from the previous season so just continued anyway. With the money I have saved I was able to accept a £15m kitty and £420k wage budget (currently stands at £278k) for a mid-table finish this year, but then when I click Continue, it goes back to a £3k transfer budget and £258k wage budget, which basically means I can't buy anyone as I have no money and the board won't let me offer more than £800 a week for someone out of contract.

Help?

Are you still on the original patch? Since downloading 8.01 I haven't noticed any bugs at all.

Something is blatantly wrong somewhere. Have you tried experimenting by picking different budgets or whatever or re-negotiating with the board after the event? I'm assuming it keeps the same numbers as previously. Almost seems as though the game doesn't truly register a new season is coming.

With it happening two seasons in a row, I doubt selecting different budgets is the problem (besides, I have the game saved immediately after the budget was accepted).

I have attempted to ask for more funds, but they tell me to piss off, basically. What do you mean by re-negotiate?

The game registers a new season, because I get new fixtures and youngsters etc.

EDIT: Dowloaded the first link. The Beta patch downloaded itself straight into where it should go, but this one hasn't. What do I do? Why am I such a fool?

Yeah you don't have to start a new one.
But to take full effects, you have to.

How to install the patch:

1. Choose the download link that you need from the links above ^.

2. When asked, choose to save the file to your desktop.

3. Once the file has been downloaded, double click the patch icon. You should find yourself with something looking like this:

4. Click 'Update'. It should then update the 47 files that require updating. You should then have something looking like this:

5. Click 'Exit'. Once you have done that, open Football Manager 2008.

If you want to start a new game:

6. Click on 'Start New Game'.

7. You will then be asked which database you want to play on, it will look like this:

8. You need to select 8.0.1 update.

Just to let you know, I've installed the patch and as a result the in-game editor works now. That was obviously the problem.

One thing I have noticed, both before and after installing the patch, is that young players never accept co-ownership deals. In the past I've had big clubs repeatedly make offers for a share of a young player and I accepted them time after time, but they always say they reject the offer from Milan, Roma or whoever because they weren't offering a sufficient appearance bonus.

I now have Roma offering £4.3m for half of a quality little 18-year-old I have. As good as he is, I want to accept that (I accepted bids of £3m and £3.6m but the clown rejected) but I know it will be rejected... any advice on this? I have previously tried to tell a player he isn't needed by the club but that doesn't work, so I'm stumped.

Or try terminate his contract by using mutual termination if he accepts then just cancel if he rejects he'll get unhappy as he'll feel your kicking him out of the club
