Here's my squad going into the second season of my Man Utd game,

Won the league in the first season by 5 points ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea respectively. Got knocked out in the Semi-Finals of the Champions League by Liverpool who went on to win it but in the league they only managed to get 6th place. Got knocked out quite early in both the cup competitions after playing reserve teams. Just beat Liverpool in the Community Shield 1-0, Tevez scoring.

I'm having problems with my FM.

My startup screen (Start new game, Load quick Game, etc.) is blank.

This is so annoying.:realmad:

Does anyone have any advice?

I'm not really sure. Maybe just Uninstall the game then Install it again.

If you want to keep your save game and graphics. Just put them all onto a USB stick and once you have reinstalled the game, just insert them into thier designated folders.

To keep saved games and graphics there is no need to move them onto any sort of portable device.

Simply uninstalling your game via Add/Remove programs will not remove any custom graphics and such. As long as you then install back to the same patch, all should be well.

Obviously backing up periodically is always a good idea, but it's not necessary to keep your files!

I just started this game. Do Portugal have any decent strikers apart from Nuno Gomes and Postiga?

Hugo Almeida certainly, and I believe Mota is eligible to play for Portugal and is quite handy, too.

The resolution of Football Manager is directly related to your desktop resolution, I believe.

Therefore, if the problem is that the window is too big when you're playing windowed (only time this would come into play, I imagine) then the solution is to change your resolution in your computer's properties to an appropriately large one.

I have a resolution of 1680*1050, However the game in Full screen seems to play in 1024*768. I don't know why, it looks stretched and un-polished. Anyway to change it?

Try moving your cursor to a corner of the window, then drag it until you get the desired size. That worked fine for me.

I left City in January, I was third in the league 4 points off Chelsea, Mourinho took over and they finished second, with the eventual winners being Arsenal who are now manged by Dave Jones. I took the Ivory Coast job and I'm about to play Portugal in the quarter-finals, I just beat Czech Republic 2-1 on penalties, we took 9 each. :/ I finished top, unbeaten in a group which contained Italy, Tunisia and Serbia, hopefully I can get a decent job afterwords, but my reputation is still National, which is rather disappointing.

Congratulations.
On my game Portugal seems to be playing Ronaldo in striker position.
He scores 9 though on the Europe Championship.

Vaz Te and Rabiola are also good shouts meecrob. But Hugo Almeida is probably the best you can get.

Just started a game with Ajax, as I was getting tired of my Braga game (I was in 2015 already ). Signed 14 players, most of them for my U-19 team. Roland Linz was playing hard to get, so I've offered him €140 mil for week and he accepted. He's now one of Europe's top earners, ahead of players like Frank Lampard, Kaka and Wayne Rooney.

Just finished the 2009/10 season, beating Real Madrid 3-2 after extra-time to win my third consecutive European Cup (four in all but the first is obviously the one we won back in May). Drew 0-0 with Inter in the Coppa Italia final but won 3-1 on penalties and finished 19 or so points clear of Lazio and Inter in the league but again failed to go unbeaten, going down 3-1 to Roma in the second half of the season.

I've just signed Ahmed Barusso, Bojan, Okaka, Robert Acquafresca, Fernando Forestieri (all on free transfers), Claudio Marchisio (£6m for outright ownership at the end of a co-ownership deal) and Per Mertesacker (£30m) while sending Pichu Atienza out on co-ownership for £2.4m, Alessandro Tuia on co-ownership for £825k and Arouca to Lazio for a total of around £13m (just more than I signed him for) as they paid me £7m at the end of his co-ownership deal to take him outright having given me around £6m to start the co-ownership in the first place. I've sent Okaka and Acquafresca immediately out on loan with Barusso and Forestieri to follow. Triestina have a total of about ten players loaned from me to them due to our link and yet I still think they'll find a way to screw up promotion. Idiots.

In the World Cup, my Czech boys beat England 4-3 (all four goals from Baros) and Bolivia 2-0 before drawing 0-0 with Australia. In the second round I drew 2-2 with Ivory Coast who had 38 shots to my 18 :shocking: and I beat them 4-2 on penalties. Finally got knocked out in the quarter-finals, losing 3-1 to Brazil. Turkey beat Spain on penalties in the final, Brazil beating Argentina to finish third. Resigned after that as there are barely any Czech players coming through at all and I'd prefer to manage particular nations. Benitez replaced the sacked Steve McClaren as England manager and Arsene Wenger is the new French manager.

Over in Russia (second manager still at Amkar), Alexander Gatkan who was my second most impressive player in my previous season is doing incredibly while Sergey Volkov isn't quite as consistent as he was. Ronaldo has already left, £1m to Fiorentina :)erm:) after four goals in five games for me and I'm two points clear of Saturn with a game in-hand (they've played 13). Want to leave there as soon as I get an international job but while manager one was asked to reconsider his decision to leave the Czech post, manager two was turned down for the job despite also having a "world class" reputation.

I will probably call them in the next WC qualifier. I was drawn in a tough group for the Euro 2008. I got Switzerland,Spain and Norway. I won 2 and lost against Norway.

The match against Spain was awesome. Both teams had a lot of chances but eventually it was Ronaldo's goal that made the difference. Ricardo was amazing in that game.

I got Romania in the quarter-final and won 2-0. I will play Germany next.

By the way, what about a promising GK and right back? Miguel only played 4 games for his club so he lacked match fitness and I had to use Ferreira.

And, where can I download a file which enables national team such as Germany have real players?

Go to "C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/data/db/800/lnc/all" OR "C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/data/db/801/lnc/all" (if you have the 8.0.1 patch) once there copy the file entitled "fake.lnc" (You may wish to put it in a safe place as backup if needed) then delete the file "fake.lnc" and when you start a new game the countries effected will have the proper squad.

All this file does it put a "mask" on the national teams effected and once you remove it will get rid of the mask.

But you might need to start a new game.

Daniel Fernandes, Moreira and Eduardo were my 3 choices when I managed Portugal. As for sidebacks, you have Antunes (as pes guy mentioned), Bosingwa and Nélson. Manuel da Costa and José Gonçalves can also play in the left side of the defence.

Just finished my second season with Man Utd. Before the season kicked off I signed Vagner Love and Luis Perea on free transfers and Diego for £14m. I won the Community Shield against Liverpool 1-0 with Carlos Tevez getting the goal.

I had a dodgy start in the league and lost away to Spurs in the first game but that turned out to be my only defeat of the season. I finished 10 points ahead of Chelsea in the Premiership with Liverpool in 3rd. Arsenal sacked Wenger, then hired Aguirre but he was gone after a month and Pat Rice became the manager but they only managed to finish 7th yet went on to win the F.A Cup against me and the Champions League against Chelsea. I got knocked out of the CL by Barcelona in the QF's on the away goal rule.

I got £67m to spend in the summer and I've bought Fabregas for £58m plus Tomasz Kuszczak as he was unhappy with the league performances. I've sold Diego to Roma for £13m as he flopped and I'm trying to get rid of Luis Perea who has been rubbish as well.
