You know something that's being slightly overlooked, is that ok, so PES has gone down the tube since PES5 and PES6.

But what about FIFA?? A load of crappy titles, One good title after what's been like a decade, and people suddenly believe that FIFA will keep progressing.

I think FIFA 2010 is a very important title for EA, because it will either show that they are indeed progressing with each passing year -or- it will show that they are finding it hard to improve on FIFA09.

I think 2010 will be the most defining year (to date) for both Series.

I have to disagree there. i think if ea's fifa has good sales year in year out they wouldn't just go about changing things quickly (ala 'if it ain't broke don't fix it') albeit they haven't added anything significant since bap.

It's true pes gameplay (before 08) is better than fifa's previous titles but fifa is better in all other departments beside that and for me it adds to the value of the game.
sure previous fifa titles weren't great in comparison to pes gameplay but it's still fun and even more so when you are playing against friends.

i don't know why you think fifa 2010 is important to EA its more like Konami has to step up for pes or else their fanbase will disappear. this years pes was a shocker.. so bad i couldn't finish the first match. its worse then last years in my opinion. they went from good to awful in a matter of 2 versions.

3 bad games in a row? let's hope not.

Figured I'd get more skilled players in my team as I moved from PSG to Lyon.

But in the last 20 in-game minutes, all my teammates have received the ball only to lose it right after.

The AI players in BAL are so extremely stupid that it hurts.

Played two games on PES last night, after playing Fifa so much since it came out. The difference is shocking, PES is SO bad.

Also, I have edited my Fifa, taken 15points off everyones speed and acceleration, it makes the game slower, so you don't end up with scores like 4-3 after 30 mins. But your players are also more responsive. Makes the perfect game.

I'm in full agreement with this mate. I haven't played Fifa since World Cup 1998 until this year, but i think it's safe to assume that other than 08, it's been shit. This worries me because EA's tendency to completely overhaul the intricate controls and game engine on a regular basis may end up in them destroying all their hard work and releasing another clanger. Especially if they're influenced by the old school Fifa players who seemed to enjoy the old clangers and have now converted to Pro Evo because Fifa 08 and 09 are too in depth for them. I just hope that common sense prevails and they don't fuck around with what they've already done TOO much, we'll see. On the other hand, i want to see konami completely overhaul Pro Evo and give us a true next gen experience that brings back the excitement that we had back in the early days of the PS2.

i dont agree wit u...there are some improvements such as improved gameplay, players movement, shooting, tricks ext. theres uefa champions league and that become a legend mode which i dont really play personally also download 1.30 update which gives u all the transfers from january...myself and hopefully millions more pes fans expect pes10 to have much more improvements :)

I don't care, i want PES to have a new engine that combines the old one with that of Fifa. The responsiveness of Pro Evo mixed with the freedom of Fifa would be beautiful.

Very good point because PES still feels more responive in certain areas.

The question is though, can a good manual system be combined with great response times? Think about it, you need time between when you press the button and the action takes place to aim it. If it happens in an instant it will be hard to kick the ball in any other direction than that which the player is facing. Unless they just stick to using the right analog stick, which sucks. Hmm.

I just had an absolute barnstormer of a game on Fifa and its changed my mind set totally about how to play it. I cant play online atm so i am just playing Friendlies. Anyway i played Marseille v Celtic at the Millenium Stadium which is now definetly my favourite stadium out of the 50 or so. The pitch is beautiful, You can see the fans during play and it looks outstanding on goal kicks etc. Bit of back story, basically ive been Liverpool in my Manager mode for 3 seasons and now have a rediculous squad with players like, Ronaldo, Villa, Dan Alves, Evera, Essien, Abonglahor, Ash young littered throughout my team. Playing with a team like that absolutely frikin kills games dead. I thought having a squad like that would be amazing and open doors but all it does is lead you down a one way street. You basically never conceed, can achieve anything at your say so and all it does having a team like that is encourage you to run, run, run and just simply play 1 dimensional football. You dont need to use skill and because your team are so quick and agile there is no space on the pitch anymore. You move forward one step and you've covered 5m and takes away space and time on the ball and all situations become to feel the same. It sucks badly and is dredfully boring. If you havnt gone down the route of picking a big club dont.

Anyway so i was playing a friendly. The stadium was almost as superb as the stlye of football i was playing. With Marseille i was getting the ball down and kncoking it about for the first time ever and i loved it. I found there to be a massive pitch for once for me to move around in and it actually took time to reach the other end of the pitch which was great. With all the space and time and lack of speed my players were just passing it around biding our time, looking for openings and looking great on the ball . Even if i wanted to play like that with Liverpool i couldnt. Other things were factors aswell. Playing with a small team like Marseille i dont feel like i am capable of winning 5-0 every game. Infact i only just won 2-0 against Celtic on Professional which is geat because i feel like i can actually loose a game whereas with Liverpool i knew every game i was gonna thrash them and win every cup and each win and cup felt as empty as the one befor it. With Marseille though i feel like the underdog and wins feel hard earned and grafted for along with the goals.

I love playing with the underdog feeling and sence of potencial my team has to grow . Im actually going to start a French league with Marseille. This coming from som1 who has never played a season in a football game without Liverpool etc. I cant wait. Its gonna be so good not having everything handed to me on a plate and actually having to work my way up to the top and earn my success. The satisfaction will be great. I would love finninshing 3rd or something just to remind me that i cant just boss the league and then winnig the league will be so good.

For me personally whenever i do a career mode or a master league in the past i sign players that i could imagine a particular team signing in real life, it makes the game much more rewarding. I know its down to personal preference but i don't understand people who sign the likes of ronaldo for liverpool. I try to build my team up like i would on football mamnager. Marseilles have a got a nice team on fifa as well as a wonderful away kit. I did a career with them, mamadou sammassa is some player.

I remember when Konami were saying "less talk more action", in the build up to the release. That makes me laugh now.

Well, i have been playin fifa for one month now, and i have to say, that it is actualy completely different story then pes.. Especialy after last update (on x360) it got something special.. I am playing for Arsenal and it feels realy cool there.. My team plays fast game with plenty of break aways, and all that support from Abedayor.. Clichy is amazing too, just so much speed once he got a little time for one or two touches.. Rosicky is bit weak but can make unbeliveable passes and dribling.. Cesc fabregas plays good as in real and i can go on and on.. I am in my first season. First half of the season i have been just loosing and drawing.. Now it is much better and won 10 matches in row.. After that i have desided to change for second most difficult level, and in that moment fifa starts feel incredible.. It wasn't that much easy to go for break, but it give match much more spice there, so you are pushed to think about your moves.. I have to say that Fifa is realy incredible and when i put PES to just check, there is so big difference in it.. So everyone who didn't try it: Go for it, get some good guide and than it is so rewarding game that you sometimes, well most of the time feel that it is real footy..

Tbh is still amazes me that people still play pes 2009 over fifa. On fifa just online i can play a league with my mates, play a clubs game with them, play rank matches, interactive league or do BAP 10v10. I would like to add that in 150 games online in only 3-5 of those have i suffered significant lag. In pes if iplayed pes online i'd be lucky to play 3-5 games out of 100 with no lag.
