Spot on about ML, I noticed that too from where I play leagues in community it is paced differenlty.

The AI is consierably more aggressive on ML - its like a completely diffrerent game

@ Ali...

What game mode are you experiencing cheating AI?

I've played exhibitions exclusively and I just don't feel the cheating AI.

if i played ML maybe I would see, and yes spotting cheating/comeback AI is very easy. In EA nhl, it is the same thing. When you get a lead, your goalie playes like a 6th grade goalie.

But to be honest, I have never experienced cheating AI in exhibition mode.

Please try 5 games of exhibition mode, pro setting, -2 game speed, 0 assist and see how it is.

Well, I'm only going off 2011 experiences here, where I did mainly play ML, so I can't really vouch for scripting for the AI team in exhibition. But I CAN vouch for scripting in 2 player exhibition matches.
I have obviously played the 2012 demos a bit. I have noticed the scripting a bit in those demos. Quite a lot in the first demo, and still some in the 2nd demo.

i find the AI crosses a bit cheap, try playing against ac milan on san siro in a single UCL match on top player you will see pinpoint crosses from gattuso even sliding crosses (when the ball is almost out of bounds and the ai opponents slides and saves the ball and crosses at the same time) and ibra almost all the time wins the ball. I hate that shit!

I love milan but i think they are overpowered, their attacks are the most potent com AI that ive encountered so far. And the ai crosses are just so accurate.

I had a weird incident last night, I went to pass in field and a computer player broke into a slide tackle and intercepted the ball. Nothing unusual there you'd think but it was just before I made the pass and the Rangers player wasn't anywhere near my player. Odd.

Master League needs some work indeed..

It is a good thing that it became harder since in 2011 even on topplayer i could win all cups possible in 2-3 seasons even with low level teams.

It is Bad thing that gameplay is to frustrating atm. It might be caused by the changes in defending which i still struggle with but i notice AI doing stuff which makes me want to bang my head against the wall :innocent:

The Ai does sometimes cheat on top player, no question about that, I most often see in from corner and freekicks but what this 5 pages long thread is missing is your personal videos of the AI scripting, it would be very useful. As for myself I don´t notice the cheating AI as much as some of you and that brings the question, is your defending good enough for the level your playing at?

Post your videos.

This is what I think now after playing the game for ages. I think the level of cheating does reflect on some respects the way you play the game, especially in defence.

For example, if you tend to give away possession or lose possession cheaply in top player then the CPU will engineer a potential goal, likewise if you defend loosely and either over pressure or not position your defence well.

I find in Top Player, no assists, 15 mins it is of course possible to win, and to get the better of the CPU but you need maximum concentration and you cannot, almost in every area of the pitch give the ball away cheaply especially if you have over-committed players. To play TP successfully I believe you have to constantly have total control over the ball, pass each and every time with successful pass rates well and truly in your favour, if the ball isn't on, then it has to go back and start again.

The CPU is unforgiven in this mode to anything loose. What happens then is two things I believe and I've been guilty of this -

1) You continue to play the game with full focus, but you're afraid to over create things in case a move breaks down, the game becomes more of a stalemate and either you get 0-0 or 1-0 either way.
2) You try and force the pace because nothing seems to be working and gaps aren't readily opening up.

It's point number two that I believe most people fall into and when they force the issue that's where they either lose patience in their defensive shape or try and play something outside of the bubble and end up getting punished.

It's when the player tried to force something that the scripting and cheating then kicks in and the CPU just drives into god mode.

The problem is when the game becomes a tight stalemate that sometimes the CPU engineers something itself, like a blatant cheat from a corner, free kick, or pulls your full back out of position (my personal favourite one) leaving an easy cross and headed goal.

I truly believe if you play on TP, you have to play one or two games max at a time then take a break, my mind simply cannot focus for four, five, six games on the bounce because you do end up forcing things which the CPU nails you for. The trouble is with top player is that because the game becomes tight it gets a bit predicable because you tend to play the same safe patterns over and over for fear of losing the ball in bad areas. I find Top Player the challenge, but professional just more fun!

Just my pennies worth.

I'd tend to agree with the above assessment.

My main concern so far is the computer's ability to engineer pinpoint counter-attacks from anywhere on the field. In a recent ML game, Ganzoraccio's midfielders made absurd passes to the forwards well beyond their relative skill levels.

I totally agree,I started my ML last week in superstar mode, and I have to agree sometimes its just ridiculous, but then again all you need to do is pace yourself and know exactly what u need to do, if you think a 1 - 0 advantage is going to get you the W then thats the problem, sometimes I manage to score an early goal and say to my self, ok I´ll take it slow and in a couple of minutes I see the AI score a goal, I´ve gone on winning streaks and losing streaks, changed my formation, my tactics etc, I´ve been able to beat Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, as long as I concentrate and know exactly what my strengths are and exploit the AI´s weaknesses, just like everyone says that the AI crossing is unreal so is ours, I´ve been able to score so many goals with D.Bent from crosses, as this is also a weakness for them, sometimes I get really pissed because I believe that I deserved the win but then again the beautiful game is about scoring goals and making fewer mistakes then the AI, I´ve been playing PES for a while now and I have to say that I have never played a harder version than this one and its a real challenge.... I hope that in a couple of months I have mastered it just like the old versions.

it becomes harder as cpu pass the ball around more but it is like top layer without the crap scripting. I can't fully confirm the cheats are full moved but it is definitely less than top player

Not this shit again. Seriously get a grip. If you lose, it's because you didn't adjust your tactics enough to adapt to the opposition or quite frankly you are just not as good as you think you are.

What kind of overgrown baby quits before saving? You want to win every match? Seriously what's the point of playing the game if you're going to reset every time the game doesn't go in your favour?

I don't mind losing it is part of the sport.

But, I don't like losing when my players don't switch to the person I intend to. Or my pass goes in the opposite direction. Worse still when my defenders (who have defended well the whole game) start to just step out of the way on the man they are trying to mark when we get the lead.

To someone who played many, many hours on PES 2011 I never remember it being this bad. I hope a patch is incoming that well make this game fun again.

I dont know if you are just joking or havnet played the game yet. It has nothing to do with tactics when a 93 ovr rated goalkeeper drops a lofted ball under no pressure.

OK I played a few games yesterday. Im even having some trouble in Pro on the PC. The game can be 0-0 for the most part, when I score, it doesnt take them more than 5 min to score against me and tie it. :realmad:
I know my defense sucks but its weird that after I score and go defensive they just pass like superstars and score easily (especially from corners or free kicks).
Is anyone using the jenkey patch and does it really help the AI script?

Use the :square: so that ur wall jumps on the freekicks and they will never score again from direct FK, ever since I started doing this they havent scored ONCE :D

Been having a blast on the PC version, it's pure gold, but had to do some baby duties so thought I'd get a sneaky game in on the PS3, surely it can't be that bad I thought, why did I switch to the PC version - literally the first game against QPR on TP and this happens, I honestly don't know what is up with the game on the PS3, it baffles me......I mean these things ARE game breakers......

I mean WTF...

I took one look at that, controller back in the PS3 charger and it was back to my PC :)

Symptoms of A.I Cheating/ Auto Score

- Constant fouls given to A.I while fair tackling/ Corners to A.I from deflections
- Pin point dribbling by A.I (unstoppable to tackle fairly)
- Deflecting off players in A.I favour
- Passes going wrong. Not where you directed
- Players running slower, stiffer. Even quicker players
- Pin point crosses, unrealistic powerful shots all on target or woodwork
- Your team A.I gives foul, makes pass mistake
- Your team A.I wanders

Times to notice:

- When A.I are losing and need comeback
- Cup finals, tournaments, master league
- Professional difficulty
- Injury time, near end of a tied up game
Once you notice these, your better off putting the pad down and watching because trying to defend and prevent the opposition scoring is IMPOSSIBLE. The computer is set that the A.I is going to score.
Sadly i dont mind conceding a goal if my team has slipped up, but very sadly it ruins the game when you are certain that the A.I are due to score. PES 2012 spoil the excitement. this typeof cheat like scoring happens on previous PES games and even FIFA games. I guess theres no cure, its a computer, which other way will it score unless its set.

DONT FUSTRATE YOURSELF AND GET ANGRY!
