Yep, NBA 2k11 on the 360 for me.

Finding it very tough to get to the basket at times. In 2k10 all you had to do was a behind the back or spin move and your there, but it seems like the CPU is alot more intelligent.

Just been looking on youtube for post move tips etc, so that's what I've been working on recently. I think alot more time is needed to be spent in the gym.

After all of this recent buzz, I'm now downloding the demo on the PS3, to see what the fuss is about. I haven't played a basketball game since NBA Street 2 on the Game Cube.

Yeah, it's worth it. It'll take a while to get to grips with the controls to be honest, but just start with the basics such as pass, shoot, steal, block and just progress from there every match you play once you become familiar with the controls.

I'm now rather addicted. Unfortunately you only get 1 quarter in the demo. Played about 5 quarters in total this morning, just about to take a break and go on Black Ops which I have been doing immense on up until this morning annoyingly enough.

I'm playing My Player atm. Did well in the summer league and got drafted by the Lakers :)

Currently in the rotation but averaging 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. I'm a SG so it's bit hard getting minutes in my position :D but been playing some SF and PG too.

J. Cole eh?

Your guy is looking sweet though, statistically he's well versed. That consistency is a little low mind, but how would this affect your actual play since you're the one controlling the man at the end of the day? Percentage of shots, steals, rebounds etc likely to be higher on average with higher consistency I'm guessing.

Getting to the basket is harder this year because it was so easy in 2K10. You cant simply dribble hard or crossover and expect to make a layup, they really want you to utilize the shotstick, everyone has to master the shotstick score in this game, pressing shoot is just not sufficient enough this year.

Post moves are the same, you have to picture how you want to score the basket and use whats available in your controls to do that exact move. Spin moves>Dunk, Spin moves>fadeaways etc are all do-able in the game.

Check back in a few hours and my total points, assists etc will be up, they arent there for some reason. If I carry on this rate in terms of scoring and assists then I will surpass records by the time im in the 5th season.

The consistency rating is like that for a reason, although I will improve it soon. My player is a PG so its very important im creating the plays for everyone else and not just scoring. After 13 games in the second season i'm averaging:

35 points a game
14 rebounds a game
12 assists a game
5 steals
2 blocks

 These numbers have never been accomplished in real life

Damn that's good.

Is there difficulty settings you can choose to put it on, if so, what level are you on?

Im on the 3rd hardest which I think is All Star. There's currently an issue with Superstar and Hall of Fame levels that you teammates dont pass the ball to you or some shit like that

You gotta put the minutes per quarter to around 8-12 though otherwise you wont benefit. It just means your spending nearly 45 mins a game, like real life

I've always used the shotstick rather than X. I've found myself using the hotstep (Y/Triangle) alot more this year, and finding it very beneficial when in control of top shooters like Eric Gordon.

Working on post moves at the minute, doing shot fakes, turns, holding both back buttons etc.

Trying to use plays more often now, before I just used really pick'n'roll plays.

The plays are really good this year. Lakers are so powerful with the triangle, anyone who masters it will become near unbeatable.

There seems to be a huge library of plays which is great, but I need to put a lot of time into practising them. At times I can nail them then at other times I don't know what I'm doing or even pressing.

The majority of plays are just sub standard, there are a few that if you watch the NBA on a regular basis, will recognize in the game. A few players have their own play sets that arent common with others.

Ray Allen (Celtics) and Rip Hamilton (Pistons) These two SG are similar in that they do alot of off the ball running, running off screens so that they are free for open shots. When they get open, 9/10 the shot will go in. I think 2K11 have done an exceptional job at the plays and especially moving off the ball, it really mimics real life.

(PS. Ray Allen really makes shooting look so easy. In my lifetime and in my opinion, the greatest shooter of all time)
