Veteran status was booted in favour of the Hall of Fame. I just don't see any reason to bring it back, when it was similar.

If you become an active member of the site you can see who the veterans and respected members are.

Also the fact that this forum is still dominated by the veterans makes it even more pointless.

It's personal preference. If it was I, I would use it. It's not though so it's a moot point.

This made it worthless. With a lack of new regulars, we made members veterans and changed the ratio of veterans to non-veterans to a horrible degree.

Quick question, are any suggestions posted here considered or discussed? I don't remember seeing anything in the staff forum.

I ask because as a community we don't tend to vote on anything and a site lives and dies by its membership. Something absent entirely on PESGaming. There is scope for progression on this site but alas we currently have an owner who doesn't care and won't sell - yet.

No offence intended, Joel, but you seem entrenched in the importance of your status than servicing the community. If you weren't an Admin, I wonder whether you'd be here. I'm not looking to pick a fight, I'm curious as to what motivates the staff ... from a purely business stand point. I'm looking to own a forum and leave it in the hands of the staff, I'm far to lazy and fickle to deal with the politics and general running of a site and community, I want forward thinking individuals to do that for me. Unpaid of course. Such is life.

Of course things are discussed and when it's possible to add, it's been done.

All you have to do is go back through the pages of this thread and you'll see a lot of suggestions that actually have potential to make the site better have been added.

I appreciate that but a lack of serious consultation between staff and members, including a lack of community voting. It's still somewhat arbitrary.

I for one think staffing should be reviewed, and no I'm not talking about myself. I've no interest other than owning the site and from that viewpoint, a lack of management rotation breeds regression.

I don't see what the point of this discussion is. It isn't going to change anything, its like making points for the sake of making points. Matt Holme isn't going to read this and if he does, he isn't going to care because he's clearly happy with how the site is going - well or not.

The only real time to ask these questions of people is if you're in the process of securing ownership of the site so that when you do take over you can clearly see what the situations of various administrators and moderators are at the time.

Indeed. But I suspect in the long term that won't be the case.

A vote on what exactly? Things that can make the forum better are considered based on if can we get it done. So what is the need of a vote?

Staff is absolutely fine.

Other forums have it (most do actually).

I know its because you can't be arsed to do it

What the fuck are you on about?

If you want to change it, become Elite. It's that simple. No other forum gives that to you for free.

You're beginning to piss me right off, abu. Continue to do so and you won't be posting here until the new Premier League season.

Anything. Everything.

It's not Joel. The site lacks a technical member of staff. However Sweey is right, nothing is changing in the immediate future.

I mean mini status' such as 'Retired' or 'Benchwarmer' because the members only have 'registered user' or 'newbie'. Just make 10 status' and say if a person hasn't posted in a while such as this Greenegg guy, name him retired. If a person's new, like you do now you call him a 'newbie'. If a person starts to post in the general section, call him a 'Benchwarmer'. If its a person that gets booked, his status could be 'troll' etc. Its a minor suggestion that wouldn't matter if its ignored. It just adds pizzaz to a user

We actually used to have something like that. Don't know what happened to it.
